Rich Cho hired as Bobcats GM; Rod Higgins moves up

Big news, guys! The Charlotte Observer reported late Monday night that Rich Cho has been hired as general manager of the Charlotte Bobcats. Rod Higgins has been named president of basketball operations. Higgins reached out to Cho within a day of his firing before lobbying to Michael Jordan to hire Cho.

RICH CHO FIRED

My brother just had lunch with Dwight Jaynes. As they left, DJ got an e-mail saying that Rich Cho has been fired and Chad Buchanan is the acting GM. Wow.

Fire Rich Cho

Rich Cho was handed over team that was supposed to compete in the Western Conference Finals. With his leadership and after only 19 games, they are headed for the draft lottery. The task at hand is obviously more than he can handle. This page is for Blazers fans who feel Rich Chose needs to be replaced by someone more capable of getting this team to play to their potential and someone who is not afraid to make a move for the betterment of the team.

Blazers expected to hire Branch, Rosenberry as assistant GMs

"The Blazers are expected to soon name Bill Branch and Steve Rosenberry as co-assistant GMs, sources have informed The Columbian. "Both will handle personnel-related duties and will likely share similar job titles. The duo will combine to fill the role formerly held by Tom Penn, who was fired in March as the Blazers’ vice president of basketball operations." ---- Clearly I was remiss in not crediting our own Ben, who reported this last week! :)

You have to highlight the text to read it...enjoy. Q&A with Assistant GM Rich Cho Sonics assistant general manager Rich Cho is not a household name even amongst Sonics fans. But general manager Rick Sund says he can’t imagine how other teams survive without a similar person in their organizations. Cho’s job title fails to do justice to the number of duties he has with the Sonics. He is responsible for knowing the ins and outs of the salary cap to help the Sonics best exploit it and is the team’s associate legal counsel in addition to his traditional front office duties. Since starting with the Sonics in 1995 as an intern for Wally Walker while he was attending the Pepperdine University School of Law, Cho has moved up in the front office steadily, most recently being promoted to assistant GM during the summer of 2001. SUPERSONICS.COM caught up with Cho to find out a little more about his duties and his background.
