I myself am an enormous Kemba fan, so I made a video of his highlights and I'm going to post this on all SB Nation Team pages. Kemba deserves to be in the All-Star game as a reserve guard in the East not only because he is better than most of the Top Ten vote getters right now, but you can see his college self starting to blossom. He hits big shots every night and is making everyone around him better. He also is dropping 25+ on most of the top tier point guards in the league... 31 vs. Deron Williams, 29 vs. John Wall, 34 vs. Brandon Jennings, etc. And who doesn't want to see Kemba crossover Kyrie in the All Star Game?
And here is the List of the Top Ten vote getters in the East Backcourt:
1. Dwyane Wade (Mia) 396,279
2. Kyrie Irving (Cle) 365,712
3. Derrick Rose (Chi) 272,410
4. John Wall (Was) 124,851
5. Ray Allen (Mia) 99,464
6. Rajon Rondo (Bos) 80,889
7. Deron Williams (BKN) 44,282
8. George Hill (Ind) 42,536
9. Evan Turner (Phi) 33,605
10. Mario Chalmers (Mia) 32,996
First of all Derrick Rose and Rajon Rondo have played less than 10 games between them due to injury and Deron Williams has already battled ankle issues this year, so that clears three players off the list so far without even talking about merit. Dwayne Wade has been healthy and has played well enough to start in the ASG in my opinion, and he probably will. Kyrie Irving is averaging 22 ppg and will probably take the other starting guard spot. John Wall is definitely an All Star this year but clearly shouldn't start. Evan Turner has emerged as the clear go to guy in Philadelphia and is averaging 19 points 6 rebounds and 3 assists, in other words, he deserves it.
Now, a 38 year old Ray Allen averaging 10 points 2 assists and 2 rebounds per game, a George Hill averaging 10 points, 3 rebounds and 3 assists per game, and a Mario Chalmers who might be the sixth best player on his team and they all lead Kemba in votes.
So, please do Kemba a favor and vote him into the All-Star Game this year!
