Bobcats have come to terms with Jannero Pargo to be their 3rd point guard next season.— Rick Bonnell (@rick_bonnell) August 8, 2013
The 33-year-old point guard played 18 games with the Bobcats last season, averaging 8.4 points and 1.9 assists in 18 minutes per game. Pargo was inconsistent but solid overall and filled in well for an injured Ramon Sessions. The Bobcats are Pargo's seventh team in nine seasons.
Bonnell also reported that free-agent forward Anthony Tolliver has received an offer from the Bobcats but is mulling his offers.
Also, Bobcats have offered power forward Anthony Tolliver a 1-year contract. Tolliver is weighing his options next few days.— Rick Bonnell (@rick_bonnell) August 8, 2013
Tolliver is a sweet-shooting big man that averaged 4.1 points and 2.5 rebounds in 15 minutes per game for the Atlanta Hawks last season. He's a great locker room presence and was very vocal during the NBA lockout. He even debated CBS Sports' Matt Moore late one night.
While neither of these players are critical to the team's success, both are excellent teammates and lead by example. They fit the culture Rich Cho has created and address very specific (albeit unimportant) needs. Neither of the deals are long-term, so there's really nothing to worry about in that regard. Let's just be glad Pargo's back.
