This team has made great improvements this off-season by not making a lot of splashy moves. My favorite moves thus far:
Letting Mully walk
Movin on up with Big Al Jefferson
Hiring Steve Cliffords
Letting Williams walk
Although, we are still missing something. We need that savvy veteran to show these young guys "The Way". In particular, MKG needs a role model. I've seen Jamison's name thrown around, but I'm afraid he may be too old to be effective for our roster, albeit a great role model. But Gerald Wallace is the kind of player that could use a last hurrah before he hangs 'em up, and his best days were in Charlotte.
I know things didn't end well for him here, but he is in danger of becoming forgotten by the NBA. He is now seen as an underachieving big contract. Sure, he is not the same player we got to know and love in our more innocent days as a franchise, but he was the first face of this team. He was our only all-star. I would bank that he holds most team records.
Before this team becomes the Hornets, we need to recognize the one great player we ever had. Not only that, but a player who can show MKG what can happen when you develop "Raw". I would even start him over MKG for at least the first half of the year so that he can continue to develop without the pressure of having to be "the man".
So, for you die-hards, do you bring back Crash before he burns?
