Potential great news could be on the horizon for those of us advocating the return of Charlotte basketball to it's true roots. Any skepticism about a return to the Hornets brand was squashed last week when Michael Jordan ditched his orange and blue Air Jordans, just in time for the release of a new purple and teal Jordan brand apparel.
If that's not enough to convince you, he also scheduled a presentation for this Wednesday to announce the "Future of the Bobcats". What's so significant about that day? It's also the same day that New Orleans will play their final game as the Hornets, thus officially releasing the Hornets brand. And to add to the coincidences, this presentation is being immediately followed on Thursday with open house event, and the Cats final (and perhaps "farewell") game. Everything is aligned for a dramatic Goodbye Bobcats, Hello Hornets NBA week.
Speaking of farewells, the New Orleans Hornets made a goodbye video for Hugo, with video of the him initially in Charlotte, and with a very curious sound track...
"Home, let me go home. Home is wherever I'm with you. La la la la take me home. Daddy I'm coming home."
They're either sending a message about Hugo coming back to Charlotte, or have a very, very sick sense of humor.
