Bobcats front court impresses, defeat Bucks 95-85

USA TODAY Sports

Tonight the Bobcats did tanking wrong in an easy win over the Bucks.

I'm not sure how Bobcats fans should feel about this game. On one hand, the Bobcats pulled out a victory they don't usually win. The Bucks were missing Larry Sanders, key big man and most improved player of the year candidate. LARRY SANDERS! is a huge part of the Bucks defense at the rim, and he was clearly missing tonight. The Bobcats are not a team known for having a dominant frontcourt but tonight Bismack Biyombo had a huge double-double. Biyombo, known for his scoring struggles, had 13 points and 17 rebounds, a huge amount of rebounds for a player that struggles to do simple basketball things sometimes. Fellow frontcourt member Josh McRoberts also had a huge game. McRoberts had 18 points, 9 rebounds, and 9 assists.

As I mentioned above, the Bucks were without big man LARRY SANDERS!, but they were also without another important player. SANDERS! is the key to their defense and without him, Milwaukee let the Bobcats got to the rim at will and just in general the Bucks got pushed around. The Bucks also were missing their starting point guard Brandon Jennings. Jennings is a key passer and without him the offense fell apart. The Bucks shot 39 percent tonight with Monta "shoot first" Ellis running the offense (Ed. I'm not sure if that's his real middle name but I won't fact check it - Ben). As a result the team couldn't find a way to score.

This game was a rare dominant win for the Bobcats. Sure the score doesn't show it entirely, but the Bobcats gained control of the game in the third quarter and the Bucks never had a chance. Milwaukee had no defense at the rim, no actual plan on offense, and just looked like a bad team in general. Maybe they were too busy thinking about the playoffs or maybe they just didn't take the Bobcats seriously.

Weird side story about this game: A Bobcats loss would have clinched at least a share of the worst record in the NBA and as a result, the most ping pong balls. If the Orlando Magic had won then the Bobcats would have once again clinched the most ping pong balls for the draft. Instead the Magic lost tonight and the Bobcats won. Those ping pong balls are still up for grabs.
