The Bobcats would likely not have minutes to give either guard in the event one of them made the final roster, so it's probably beneficial for everyone involved. Charlotte has three point guards with Kemba Walker, Ramon Sessions and Jannero Pargo all on guaranteed contracts and the shooting guard position isn't too lacking in depth either, with the ability to swing Jeffery Taylor to back up Gerald Henderson and Ben Gordon.
The training camp roster is now down to 16 players, 13 of whom have guaranteed contracts with the Bobcats. Jeff Adrien and James Southerland have unguaranteed contracts, so they could be cut before the season if the team feels the need to sign help elsewhere. Patrick O'Bryant is the lone training camp invitee without any type of contract but could have some value with the news of Brendan Haywood's stress fracture.
