Halftime: inconsistent Bobcats down 49-40 to Bulls

Dennis Wierzbicki-USA TODAY Sports

Charlotte is playing streaky to begin the game in Chicago.

The Bobcats started well early with some encouraging offense beginning in the post. But the Bulls defended the Bobcats backcourt extremely well. Chicago put the screws on Charlotte late in the first, retaking the lead on the shoulders of great defense and good post play.

Charlotte recovered from a 14-point deficit with Kemba Walker starting to get his offense going and new starter Jeff Adrien played well. The defense made concerted efforts but had difficulty defending Chicago's big men while keeping an eye on players behind the arc.

Were it not for an offensive rebound leading to a Kirk Hinrich three at the buzzer, the Bobcats would only be down 6. Alas.
