Hello, my name is Dakota Schmidt. I'm one of the newest minions hired by Ben to write about this glorious team we call the Charlotte Bobcats. I also write for sites dedicated to the Bucks, Brewers and the NBA D-League so please don't hurt me too much.
The Bobcats might have a strange uneasy feeling tonight as they lace up their sneakers to face the Sacramento Kings. The reason I say that is because the Bobcats were victorious last night against the Magic, Charlotte's 2nd victory in 2013. With any luck, the Bobcats' success last night will continue into tonight's game against this troubled Kings team.
I know it seems strange to say but the Kings are in a large mess perhaps similar in size to Charlotte's. Their star big man DeMarcus Cousins has all the talent and athleticism that you could fit in a 6'11, 270 pound body but is rumored to be shipped out because of his volatile nature. With that said though, the Bobcats will probably try to throw the likes of Biyombo, Thomas, and or Haywood at Cousins to at least try to stop him.
Besides Cousins, the Kings are an extremely inconsistent team that could be hot one night and then become ice cold. Last night against Memphis was a perfect example, as the Kings only scored 68 points. Guard Tyreke Evans is having a perplexing season, scoring the most efficiently of any season in his career, while also posting his lowest assist percentage. The rest of their young backcourt (Isaiah Thomas, Aaron Brooks, John Salmons and Marcus Thornton) are all decently efficient scorers, all capable of knocking down threes, but no one on the team averages more than 3.0 assists per game.
The Bobcats should also keep an eye on Jimmer Fredette, who's having a much better season than his points per game will show. With Charlotte's weakness guarding the three, Jimmer coming off screens and spotting up could be dangerous.
To be quite honest, this game should be a mess and best watched with the Benny Hill theme in the background. The Bobcats showed flashes of being a not completely awful team last night but we all know how things can change in a span of one night.
