As it currently stands (and will likely stay), the Bobcats have no clear option at the PF position. We have Tyrus Thomas, the vexing, underfed, underachiever. Then there is Byron Mullens, our resident skinhead Brit, shooting his myriad of long range jumpers, occasionally filling up the score sheet, often annoying us. Then there is Player X, the guy whom we will inevitably sign/trade for in the coming weeks/months, who probably won't be more than a role player.
Not that the guy deserves it or anything, but my current bet is that TT will be the Bobcat's starter on Day 1. Even if he'll never fulfill that potential we saw in him, his game is still closer to that of a prototypical PF than anyone else on the roster, and his elite athleticism should still be in play, so if he's gained the weight that he's been rumored to have gained, then he's the best bet in my mind.
What do you think?
