why do people like you
you suck the worst
You know, this was closer than I thought it would be. I mean, I didn't think it'd be a drubbing before the whistle, but when the Bobcats were down 14 late in the first quarter, I didn't exactly expect them to reel the game back in within one point after the deficit reached 17 midway through the second quarter.
But it did.
D.J. Augustin did some neat things offensively, as did Derrick Brown. The Magic capitalized on good spacing and the usually medicore Bobcats rotations, especially J.J. Redick, who destroyed the Bobcats' hopes time after time and had a career-high 31 points. But while Augustin played well, Walker played something truly awful. He couldn't make a shot. The rest of his game was ehhh, rebounding well and passing fine, but YEESH, 2-for-11.
Another key was Ryan Anderson, who destroyed the Bobcats with second-chance opportunities on offensive rebounds. Orlando also did a good job containing Gerald Henderson, bringing multiple defenders at times. And you could see why, as towards the end of the game he started to get hot. But foul trouble played a big part in limiting him, as well.
For the most part, it was a decent effort, but ugh, this is not how I wanted this game to go. Plus, Derrick Brown went down with an ankle injury, which is really depressing, because sometimes I feel like he's the only guy consistently giving 100 percent. Alas. Now to play New York and try to avoid that awful record.
The Curse of Cardboard Gerald: 29 consecutive losses, -17 avg point differential (see you in October, ugh)
