Hello Citizens of Rufus on Fire!
I'm Zorgon, Manager of Welcome to Loud City, SBNation's Thunder Blog. As you might know, the new owner of the New Orleans Hornets wants to re-name the Hornets as the Jazz. There's no way that's happening, but he made it clear that the Hornets name probably won't make it to next season. This might open the door to other teams taking the Hornets name.
Just for fun, I recently asked whether the Thunder should change their name back to the Hornets, in honor of their days in Oklahoma City. The response, unsurprisingly, was a resounding no.
But the question might actually have more relevance for you guys in Charlotte. The Hornets have some history in your city, and fielded some good teams in the early 90s and early 2000s. The Bobcats have had some of the most maligned uniforms in the NBA, and not many people like the name, either. (Note: I'm speaking about general public opinion, nothing more.) Meanwhile, the Bobcats haven't seen any success aside from one playoff run.
So, my question is: Would you like to see a return of the days of the Hornets in Charlotte? Or have the Bobcats name and logo grown on you to the point where you accept it as your own?
Also, I'm not really taking practicality into consideration for this poll. Just a general survey of your opinion. IE: Would you like to see it changed, not do you think it will be changed.
