My Offseason Moves

Stay connected for news and updates

This offseason is the most critical time in franchise history in my opinion. As a fan I would like to see encouraging moves to indicate a promising future. This organization has to create an environment that players can continue to get better as well find the players where effort will never be a question.

1. First move is not to retain Paul Silas as Head Coach. I just think it's time to move on because he is not the long term answer for this current team. We need a good young coach with NBA coaching experience like Nate McMillian or a Mark Jackson / Monty Williams type like Brian Shaw. I think Paul and his son would be valuable assistants, but not sure if they would want to move on.

2. Team has to decide what players will be here long term. Many would like to see Corey Maggette amnested, but I disagree. Yeah, Corey can't stay healthy, but he plays hard and has shown great character, leadership and basketball I.Q. Tyrus should be the one because he has not shown the skills or basketball intelligence to improve or worthy of his salary that will strap the team over the next three seasons. Trade D.J. for pick or player because he doesn't want to be here and can't see the team paying him and Kemba eventually.

3. This team can't score or defend. We need a go to scorer, six man, bench and shot blockers. I like Free agents Michael Beasley as the SF and Anthony Randolph as a versatile defender and improving player who I think is finally getting it. This team needs talent! The number one pick is not guanteed so we have to have a back up plan and that should be a long evaluation process. I'm not really sure about the rest of the draft class that fit or has star potential after Davis.

4. Do not resign DJ White because if Mullens plays the stretch 4, then 3mil on white is a waste and Biyombo future postion is PF because I don't see him holding up at center long term. I say resign Derrick Brown because I like the improvements on the court and I can see him being a key player of the bench at SF and PF when we go small. Without Diaw, Najera , Thomas, Higgins and White we should have 5 roster spots to fill.

Projected Roster

Head Coach - Nate McMillian or Brian Shaw

PG - Kemba Walker, FA, Draft Pick ( Big guard preferred), trade from DJ

SG - Henderson, Reggie Williams, Matt Caroll.

SF - Michael Beasley, Corey Magette, Derrick Brown.

PF- Anthony Davis, Anthony Randolph, Byron Mullens

C-Biyombo, Diop, FA or Draft pick., trade fro DJ.
