Trade Suggestion:Bobcats,Timberwolves,Rockets
Timberwolves trade Derrick Williams/Brad Miller/Wesley Johnson/Wayne Ellington
Gets Kevin Martin/Gerald Hendersonl/rights to swap Bobcats 2015 1st
Bobcats trade Boris Diaw/Gerald Henderson/Bismark Biyombio/2013 Portland pick
Gets Derrick Williams/Terrance Williams/Wes Johnson/Brad Miller/
Rockets trade Kevin Martin/Terrance Williams
Gets Boris Diaw/Bismark Biyombio/2013 Portland pick/Wayne Eliington
Why each teams does it? I think every team came out equal since it fits their specific needs.
Timberwolves fans want Kevin Martin bad. The Wolves need a 2 that can score. Perfect match. I think the Wolves would resign Beasley or go after Batum or Wilson Chandler in free agency. Minny needs veterans/or a good veteran and this trade gives them that. Minny is one good sg and a slightly better upgrade at sf away from playoff contention. Kevin Love is likely going to opt out in 3 years and the Bobcats will still be in the lottery so they can draft a stud pf with the pick. I think later on Kahn will come off as a genius doing this trade. You get the scoring 2 and young 2 that could be your 6th man than a lottery pick when you know your star player may opt out a year later.
Bobcats need something to help build around Kemba. Derrick Williams could be a very good player as a starter. Building around Kemba Walker,Derrick Williams,Anthony Davis and likely a top 5 2013 pick with all the good centers in that draft the Bobcats could actually be a playoff contender in 4 years. The Portland pick is likely 20-23 anyway.
Houston wants to be a major player in free agency. They need a good center and this year free agent class has plenty. They get a 9 million expiring which will make their cap at close to 23 million going into the 2012 free agency. That's a lot considering the cap is rumored to be at 61 million next season.Courtney Lee could start on most teams and I'm sure they probably are looking to move toward him. They get an expiring, a young player, and a 1st, very good trade for them in my opinion.

Hell no.
I dont trust Derrick Williams to ever live up to his draft status and the Terrence Williams love afair runs one deep around these parts. Either way, that leaves us with too many small forwards on our roster. There is no way we are trading Bismack or any first round picks unless we acquire a significant upgrade of proven players. Wes Johnson and Henderson are a lateral swap at best and I absolutely see Henderson as the better player despite the rant that will come with it from you know who.

And when you can slip into the
Playoffs with an under .500 record in the east it damn sure doesn’t take 3-4 years to sniff the playoffs unless you’re doing everything wrong.

no.
Of course I like the results somewhat. But no. Its too complicated a trade for just Kevin Martin. Now he is a great scorer and exactly what they need but they aren’t gonna do all that. Then I notice our pick isn’t in the convo, further making this trade very unreal. But no I wouldn’t be opposed to moving anybody for a 1st rd pick. And Tyrus for a 2nd or 3rd lol.
and i wonder are
we gonna cut Higgins at the unguaranteed contract deadline. Maybe we could absorb someone with our two trade exceptions. Wish I had access to Cho’s files and ideas. Or maybe I do
Tyrus for a 7th round pick. Lmao.

Orlando’s not going to make the playofss next year so that opens up a spot but the Cavs, Bucks,Knicks, and Nets are going to be playing for the 8th and they are way better than the Bobcats.
The Knicks are supposed to be way better
Than a lot of teams but look at them. This squad we have now will never be good enough for a playoff spot but you’re overestimating the time it takes for a team to recover from rebuilding and make the playoffs in the east. With smart moves, all it takes is two years. Not saying everything will go so smoothly for us, but y’all are talking crazy saying it’ll take like four or five years just to get back to the playoffs.

no
Shawn Marion. But I think he can be like a Wallace-lite or even a young Eddie Jones if he gets put in the right system
I would like to see us pursue
Some guys that are cheap, young and could be productive…Ekpe Udoh and Brandan Wright come to mind…I would love to pry Serge Ibaka from OKC…Star in the making and he and Biyombo could become a Congo connection defensively down low…Dream scenario…
Your crazy if you think OKC is going to let go of Ibaka and if they do is because some team will overpay him Bobcats doesn’t need to be that team. Warriors will not trade Udoh simply because they are not going to indicate they should of picked Monroe. We don’t need any more young and cheap players that COULD BE PRODUCTIVE. We need a young stars to build around. Kemba was a very good start.
Diaw for Beasley
Looks pretty sweet for both teams…hmmmmm.
I'd like to have Beasley but
Its really no point. Beasley will be a FA so will Diaw. We can just pick up Beasley in FA for about 3/4ths of his current salary. If we wanted him. Diaw should be used to get Morrow or in a package to trade Maggette
Wes Johnson is just a throw in he has a team option after next season. I’ll take Derrick Williams over Bismark any day. He is a project and with minutes Williams could be a beast. Some people compared him to Lebron while Bismark gets paired to Ben Wallace. 2013 draft is set to be loaded with taller better centers than he is. The Portland pick is a 20-23 pick at best. Bobcats could put top 8 on it but Portland is always that team that isn’t terrible but is to good to get a decent pick.
Who compared Derrick Williams, a man to small to be a PF and too clumsy to be a SF, to the greatest physical specimen in NBA history?
"With the third pick of the 2006 NBA Draft, the Charlotte Bobcats select, Adam Morrison, Gonzaga."
Terrible comparison
he’s basically the player that he is on the team with. Beasley. But B-Eazy is way better right now…
He's really a SG
I think a while in accelerated basketball would help him alot. He can shoot. But it hasnt been that good this season. And he’s way better than Derrick Brown. He would be a nice addition…
He started at SG last year for Minny, and he was horrible.
His natural position is SF. He’s already 24 in his 2nd NBA season. His ceiling is probably a solid SF coming off the bench
Panther Pride 'till I die.
Ehhhh
What is ‘accelerated’ ball? uptempo? Not sure what you mean. Also, he can’t shoot. Hasn’t been able to since he’s been in the league. He dribbles like a center. He’s soft on D.
No
the Program we have here with our players. Its called Accelerated Basketball. Its the program that did wonders for Hendo’s shooting I must admit. If you look at Hendo last year (shooting wise) compared to this year, even though he still isnt that great, you can see major positive growth. Wes can shoot already. And I think with Accelerated Basketball, it could put him over the top. Though he may never be an allstar, he has the “feel” of a very good third or second scoring option. He just needs consistency on his shot.
very much so
No knock on him but it doesn’t take that much to get Martin. Well it wouldn’t be that complicated.
Martin is their 2nd best player
everyone says he is very underrated. He is a top 10 sg. Diaw, Bismark, and a late 1st isn’t what I call over paying for one of the best scorers in the league.
No its not
but we dont have a late first and Martin is a lil too old at this point. And he cost too much for US.
it's
bisMACK. Not the donut.

Simple no
Doesn’t fit the rebuild by giving away a first rounder (Portlands), swapping for a worse pick in 2015 capped off by handing Chicago out 2016 First Rounder from the Tyrus trade.
It would stop us using the draft as a means to build the team and leave us trying to make trades only – I see this taking us backwards not forwards.
Geelong Cats for Premiers 2011 (Completed)
Rich Cho - lead us to the promised land (In Process)
I forgot the Bobcats traded away a 1st
for Thomas and it’s unprotected. Even though I at least expect the Bobcats to be in the playoffs by then. Now I’m about to edit my post no swap.
The pick is unprotected in 2016 to Chicago

Derrick Williams will be better than Bismark Biyombio period.Bismark is only 6’9. In the 2013 draft the Bobcats will have their choice of Andre Drummond, Nerlens Noel, or Steven Adams all of which are 6’11 or 7’0 and high prospects.
Derrick Williams hasn't
Done anything yet to convince me he will be a real impact player.

He is coming off the bench
and I’m pretty sure he still hasn’t recovered since the Timberwolves offered the pick to everyone they could and made it known they were picking the pot head Beasley over him. He still is averaging 7.3 ppg and 3.8 rpg in 18 minutes.
Honestly I really want the Bobcats to trade Biyombio
because I want Drummond next year or Nerlens Noel who is being compared to Bill Russel or Steven Adams who is a 7 footer being compared to an athletic Joakim Noah and I know the Bobcats won’t take Drummond,Noel,or Adams if they have Biyombio on the roster. I don’t think the Bobcats should let the T-Wolves swap 2015 anymore, but basically they are trading a hit or miss pick and an offensively challenge undersize center for a player with loads of potential.
really? how about Jordan Hill=Biyombo
jordan hill is a monster, he can make and def pickroll
he can hook, jump.
his defense is much better than biyombo
and rockets dont want him
and i knew dmorey like biyombo
so Jordan Hill=Biyombo
do it
Awful trade. Hill is a bust.
"With the third pick of the 2006 NBA Draft, the Charlotte Bobcats select, Adam Morrison, Gonzaga."
fully agree
I’m sorry but when you’re the Rockets, you can’t afford to let TALENT go. Jordan Hill is pretty much already at his ceiling and Biyombo isn’t even close. He’s got a lot of room to grow, and with extended playing time we’ve already seen him excel. I’m not saying BisMACK BiyomBO(stop misspelling his name, it’s ridiculous) is going to be the next Dikembe, but he’s certainly going to be better than Jordan Hill.

Nerlens Noel has HUGE potential.

Yes by summer 2013 this could be the bobcats line up
pg Kemba Walker
sg 2012 free agent
sf Derrick Williams
pf Anthony Davis
c Nerlins Noel
If this line up isn’t scary I don’t know what is.

Drummond is going 1st next year
if he keeps his word but he already didn’t once so who knows than Shabazz Muhmmad. If the Bobcats gets the 2nd or 3rd in the 2013 draft than we could take him. Noel and his coach has already stated he is entering the 2013 draft.

if we're smart this off-season
who we pick up next year will depend on greatest need and not BPA
From A Wolves fan perspective
Derrick Williams, or as we call him, “D-Charge” is just alright. Surely he’ll be a fine player but only if people stop expecting #2 draft pick status from him. His college game and #‘s didn’t suggest he’d be a superstar and nothing he’s done suggests it now. He hasn’t shown an ability to play defense at all, either on or off the ball. He will be able to shoot, eventually. Think about a poor man’s Antawn Jamison type of player. Maybe a Jeff Green.
Wolves fans would LOVE this trade.
to the trade options given
i give a big, fat PLEASE DO THIS
since all of the players listed will be gone after the 2012-2013 season except three, the trade ultimately comes down to this: biz for d williams and w. johnson. although w.johnson is a downgrade over Hendo, there’s no gauruntee Hendo would resign with the Bobcats anyway. so basically, our 2012-2013 roster looks like this:
Gaurds – Kemba Walker, W Johnson, Matt Carroll
Forwards – Corey Maggette, Terrence Williams, Reggie Williams, Derek Brown, Derek William
Centers – Brad Miller, Byron Mullens, DeSagana Diop
Since it makes the most sense for us to amnesty Tyrus Thomas, I chose to leave him off the list. That leaves our cap space at $43.955. I assume someone will sign T-Time for 4 million, so we’ll be responsible for the other 3 million on the back end, but it doesn’t count against the cap. That leaves us with 2 draft picks and 2 roster spots to fill via free agency. Clearly, our biggest need becomes F/C and back-up PG, so we can look to the draft for those. If we’re lucky, we get Anthony Davis with the top pick.
The first pick will cost us 4.29 million, however, it won’t count against the cap. A second round pick will be less than $850 thousand. That leaves us about 14 million to sign two free agents and still stay under the cap. Although we’ll be over the cap because of the rookie and (probably) Thomas contracts, we’ll be nowhere near the luxury tax level. That’s money that I hope is wisely spent on Eric Gordon or, if he falls through, OJ Mayo. By the by, under the new CBA, unless Eric Gordon earns the MVP this year, the most he can make next season is 9 million since he hasn’t been to any all-star games (the Derrick Rose rule). That’s good news, since we know the most we, or anyone else, can offer him. The same goes for Mayo, although I’m not sure he’s worth 9 million.
BTW, we should be going after Gordon/Mayo regardless of whether or not this trade goes through.
Thank you I want us to do everything you said
Michael is no way going to use the amnesty clause. Any DJ trade Thomas has to go.
