Not yet.

Mostly because I don’t think it’s fair to fire a coach during an obvious rebuilding season. But someone has to be held accountable for the team’s lack of heart during this time.

As much as I love using the injury excuse,

this isn’t acceptable. We still have quality players healthy and on the team that should at least be able to stay competitive.

I'm gonna live forever, I'm never gonna die. The only thing I fear is I'm never gonna fly.

by Charlotte Bobcat on Jan 27, 2012 7:55 PM EST reply actions

Agreed

It is still really embarassing I agree and this should be competitive. I am going to the wizards game tomorrow expecting to actually have a shot…tonight was just going to be a mess

by Ehimere Etomi on Jan 27, 2012 8:01 PM EST up reply actions

I hope so.

There is a big difference between developinig our young players and just being blown out on a constant basis. I can live with the losses, I don’t see the blowouts doing anything for our player confidence.

I'm gonna live forever, I'm never gonna die. The only thing I fear is I'm never gonna fly.

by Charlotte Bobcat on Jan 27, 2012 8:04 PM EST up reply actions

Look at the OKC roster

without Westbrook, Sefolosha, Durant, and Harden. They start:

PG Reggie Jackson
SG Daequan Cook
SF Lazar Hayward
PF Ibaka
C Perkins

6th man Royal Ivey?

That starting lineup would get wholloped by WAS too.

by PoAshton on Jan 27, 2012 8:09 PM EST up reply actions

Probably so.

We’ve been wholloped by everyone lately though.

I'm gonna live forever, I'm never gonna die. The only thing I fear is I'm never gonna fly.

by Charlotte Bobcat on Jan 27, 2012 8:15 PM EST up reply actions

But we were built to be bad

What are the team’s strengths?

high 2012 draft pick
cap room 2012
cap room 2013
some young players who could be something to brag about in a few years.

by PoAshton on Jan 27, 2012 8:17 PM EST up reply actions

I think we were built to be bad in the sense that

we wouldn’t win a lot of games, but these are grown men, and getting into a 20+ point hole at the end of every quarter just isn’t acceptable. Kemba, Henderson, Tyrus, Mullens, and Bismack, and Brown are all players we hope can turn into solid pieces for us down the line and they are all healthy. That’s a decent enough lineup to not expect consistent blowouts.

I'm gonna live forever, I'm never gonna die. The only thing I fear is I'm never gonna fly.

by Charlotte Bobcat on Jan 27, 2012 8:21 PM EST up reply actions

I agree

But unfortunately the skill sets our team has overlap really poorly.

Take Golden State the past decade. The defense is awful, but the offense can work.
Our offense used to be aweful, but our defense as a team was great. We were mediocre.

However, below average offense and below average defense is a terrible combination. You can catch up, you can’t stop the other team consistently.

That’s where we are until we got some offense back.

by PoAshton on Jan 27, 2012 8:29 PM EST up reply actions

And Bismack only getting 3 minutes in the first half.

I'm gonna live forever, I'm never gonna die. The only thing I fear is I'm never gonna fly.

by Charlotte Bobcat on Jan 27, 2012 8:16 PM EST up reply actions

That I hate

I want him to play until he fouls out every game.

by PoAshton on Jan 27, 2012 8:18 PM EST up reply actions

Exactly.

I see no reason for him to not get more playing time in a game like this.

I'm gonna live forever, I'm never gonna die. The only thing I fear is I'm never gonna fly.

by Charlotte Bobcat on Jan 27, 2012 8:21 PM EST up reply actions

I’ve been playing at school some, but I’m definitely down to play here whenever.

by JDeLong42 on Jan 27, 2012 8:21 PM EST up reply actions

Regarding Kemba ?

Anyone got stats on Felton as a rookie after this many games ?

by chris in union county on Jan 27, 2012 8:18 PM EST reply actions

I don't feel like going through and finding averages

But his numbers look worse than Kemba’s do at this point

by JDeLong42 on Jan 27, 2012 8:22 PM EST up reply actions

I hate to call out Kemba because he's so young...

and obviously learning on the fly with a plethora of median talent around him, but to have no assists in 18 minutes of play is completely unacceptable. Go ahead and tell me that he would have assists if only his teammates would hit a shot, but I don’t buy that. As a PG, isn’t it your job to put your teammates in the easiest possible position to score? Let’s go ahead and admit that Kemba has been a major fail in this particular area. Frankly, this is disappointing and frustrating because I did expect more out of him.

by Derek Leazer on Jan 27, 2012 8:21 PM EST reply actions

I expected more scoring out of him,

but not many assists. That’s something I always felt he would have to work on.

Who's our next Coach ?

Silas is in serious pain without Coach Oakley to teach and insert heart into these young bucks !

by chris in union county on Jan 27, 2012 8:25 PM EST reply actions

The Bobcats seems way too comfortable losing by a large margin

The lack of leadership really shows when a team seems to go through the motions when it is down by 20 plus points. The lack of heart is bothering me. The injuries don’t/can’t explain losing by this much.

I’m starting to worry that everyone on the team’s confidence is going to be so shot that we should start looking at all of them as trade assets.

I'm sure the two are inter-related

Being blown out constantly has probably numbed the players.

Refs

Pretty egregious to ignore the defender mugging Henderson then call the offensive foul.

Nonsense.

That’s a horrible excuse. There are plenty of ways to describe how bad we are without cursing.

the only horrible excuse

is this team right now. They have no right to even be allowed in the NBA.

That looks literally crippling.

Did he walk away from that? Or…ever again?

I wasn't able to participate in the live game blog...

but I’ve been watching entire game (God help me) as usual.

I don’t even blink at going behind by 20+ points anymore. This is me now when the opposing team starts on their prerequisite 10-0 run at the beginning of our games. It’s really quite serene and peaceful.

At this point, I'm willing to straddle the line...

between agreeing with your assessment of his futre as an NBA player, and still holding out hope that he can transform his game and get more comfortable with the speed/skill/size of the NBA game.

I’m a Walker agnostic at this point.

More turnovers than assists now over each of his three games as a starter, while taking the most shots on the team.
