I figured some people would show up to talk about the game.
Before football starts again, anyway
najera is a 3 point beast?
Who knew?

So, how long of a leash in Silas on?

I mean, I love the guy and all
And we are not very talented, but we aren’t even being competitive half the time.

I think this is a new low for RoF with game threads.
18 posts (including this one) and it’s halftime.
People are watching the football playoffs.
Maybe to see what actual close, exciting games are like….

Just to let you guys know, the Nets suck.
D. Will has been playing like he doesn’t want to be in NJ. The Cats should not lose this game.
yes, but you should still beat the nets.

Seriously.
Are we the worst team in the NBA right now? I love the young players we have and I think we have a bright future, but man, this is painful to go though.
How many more games till the offseason?
by intramural sport bench coach on Jan 22, 2012 7:52 PM EST reply actions
Yes, we are.
The sooner we accept it, the easier it will be on us.
We have a great foundation and a lot of great things for us in the future, but success in this year will be determined only by the progression of our young’uns and the draft.

Pathetic
This coaching staff is the worst in the NBA.

They have to share a decent share of the blame
We may not have the most talented roster in theNBADL WNBA NBA, but we are not even being competitive half the time, and Silas distributes the minutes quite poorly some games.

He makes most of his shots
If we can get Dell to work on his FT’s like he did for Tyson Chandler he could average 12 ppg at least.
Agreed.
I was lead to believe he just grabbed a pass and then ate the ball or something. Not actually tried to score.

Jordan doesn’t need to order a tank when three of our starters combine for 8 points (and I’ll concede that Augustin left early with an injury, but still).

then I looked at his box score. 6 points, 6 rebounds, 1 steal, 1 block, 2 turnovers in 20 minutes. Great?

I didn't see the game tonight, but I wonder if the scouting report on him is getting a little more robust...
Don’t let him shoot the 18-footer. Play him physically in the post and he’ll shrink away. Don’t worry too much about him on the O-glass.
I’m sure the guys who get paid to provide scouting reports have a better rap on him than that.
And 1 assist!
And two steals!

Add in
2 steals, an assist, and 5-6 FG (some against double teams!! Believe it!!!), with 3 of his 7 boards on the offensive glass………in, again, 18 minutes? Grand brillance.
These are DPOY type #‘s with more burn. If he learns to stay outta foul trouble and doesn’t make himself a liability from the charity stripe…sky is the limit.

Kemba had a decent game
16 points 4 assists and 6 rebounds. The shooting percentage wasnt great but we know he is a good shooter he just needs an offseason the sure up that jumper. I would have liked to see him get some more assists playing PG more but we have no shooters and it was his first real game at PG give him time and he will be adecent distributer.
More good news
Augustin has a cracked bone in his foot and will get an injection. Definitely out the next 2 games and likely more.

I was trying to figure out how to articulate that this was anything but good news. Whether you want DJ to stay or go, him getting injured is horrible.

DJ is not useless.
And I don’t believe that anyone here believes that. Instead, we believe that DJ has more value if he is traded than he does if we keep him. That’s not useless.

just caught the 2nd half
I thought Tyrus played decent in the 3rd quarter but man the rotation Silas has is still out of wack at times as TT didn’t get any burn in the 4th I think.
I think Boris’ main role going forward should be to help break down a team whenever they play zone as he did have a couple nice finds to Biz for dunks.
Otherwise – I was pretty happy to see Biz get that 4th Q and really make some things happen on both sides. Heck for him to only have 6 minutes of action through 3 quarters before that doesn’t make sense to me. But yeah his hands are definitely improving and he just looks more comfortable with the ball than he did from the beginning of the season. My only thing with him that he has to continue to work on is to not over commit and jump/go for pump fakes….. with his length I feel like he can afford to jump late and be able to time his blocks. Still thrilled to see him continue to develop.
