If a team hired John Hollinger

Depends on how good you think Hollinger's stats are.

I for one think he’d do quite well.

Fun fact:

The Bulls are only allowing 71.8 points per game at home this year.

by JDeLong42 on Jan 21, 2012 8:38 PM EST reply actions

The Bulls play-by-play just said that Diaw....

made a committed effort in the off-season to lose weight. Not quite sure on that one.

Unfortunately, Kemba isn't giving us very much so far tonight.

It’s never good to have more turnovers(3) than points(2) after your first 12 minutes of play.

Dude DJ 3 turnovers too and only 3 points

And Kemba has more assists then DJ. Iv seen you mention Kemba twice but nothing about DJ.

The Bulls are just a very professional team

Deng and Boozer are very good players also to compliment Rose. But the team is just well coached and disciplined.

by Mr Goodlove on Jan 21, 2012 8:58 PM EST reply actions

down by 7..feels like a lot more.

need to come out in the 2nd with energy. control the boards. careful passes.

by senelcoolidge on Jan 21, 2012 9:03 PM EST reply actions

I'm sorry, this first half was unacceptable.

The Bulls are on the second night of a back-to-back, while the Bobcats have been off for the last 3 days. Furthermore, Rose, Noah, and Gibson, 3 of the Bulls best players, are out tonight and were still down by 7 at the half. Simply pitiful.

by Derek Leazer on Jan 21, 2012 9:07 PM EST reply actions

Our two PG's are a part of the problem

they’re just too small. The Bulls are trying to take advantage of the mismatch with Kemba on Rip Hamilton. I also think Tyrus should’ve seen more action, I know we have alot of PF’s, but the game that he performs well in, he doesn’t get much run and that doesn’t really make sense. I think we should see more of D. Brown with the starters than Kemba at this point.

by Mr Goodlove on Jan 21, 2012 9:10 PM EST up reply actions

pretty much this

they’re trying to pound the ball to Rip whenever Kemba is covering and Luol Deng is also just having a ball.

Kemba should continue to start but tonight just isn’t a good matchup for having the small backcourt.

by JPCats785 on Jan 21, 2012 9:12 PM EST up reply actions

This Bulls team you are referring to

Just beat the Cavs by 39 last night. They aren’t throwing scrubs out there.

by JDeLong42 on Jan 21, 2012 9:12 PM EST up reply actions

Noah played in that game.

This is my problem. If the Bulls have this much ammunition beyond their stud PG, PF, and C, then the Bobcats are years away from competing.

by Derek Leazer on Jan 21, 2012 9:16 PM EST up reply actions

Well we have a ton of backups! lol

We just need a star and starter quality guys to carry most of the load. I think that is why we are developing guys. And going for picks.

Biyombo didn't get alot of minutes because...

Mullens is looked at as the go to scorer at this point. Biyombo is looked at as a offensive liabilty so when we start trailing, Mullens comes in the games to give us another scorer.

by Mr Goodlove on Jan 21, 2012 9:12 PM EST up reply actions

really getting tired

of seeing Boris log any sort of PT. Tyrus started out decent in the 1st half and Biz just needs more minutes to develop. Besides pairing him with Mullens in the frontcourt is not a good idea if you’re wanting to play defense.

true

I’m leaning toward saying it’s just UNC and the offense they run with it based out of throwing the ball into the post. Barnes isn’t the focal point of the offense and what I do like this season is he’s much more efficient with his shots and scoring which shows maturation as a player.

All the top prospects are a gamble imo – Barnes’ ceiling may not be as high as say Davis/Drummond but I don’t think he’ll be a flat out bust either, at worse he’ll be a solid pro and I can understand if he’s a top 3 pick that’s not what you’re looking for either.

Aside from Biyombo and Henderson....

and occasionally DJ and Kemba….

You’re right.

Not sure what you call what Tyrus does… “hustle”?

I'd put DJ White on that list...

whenever he actually gets a chance to play, that is.

lol

Other than maybe one guy. And I’ll give you a hint his contract is expiring – it’s not about heart with this squad. It’s simply a lack of talent and with our younger core just experience.

And anybody calling for a new coach isn’t really getting it either – Silas is perfect for a young team – hell Phil Jackson couldn’t get this team to 20 wins this season. Just keeping it real.

oh you're fine

just been hearing that lately from different people and I think that’s unfair to Silas

oops

hit post too soon – what record were you expecting this season?

It’s clearly a rebuilding season. When you have a team that’s playing Matt Carroll, Diop (early on), Higgins, even Derrick Brown some games when they honestly wouldn’t really be a part of any other solid NBA team’s rotation. And then you add we’re depending on Boris Diaw and Corey Maggette to boot as our vets and 2 highest paid players on the team- that’s already a recipe for a lot of losses to put it nicely.

We’re in rebuild mode and we’re on our way. But it’s not going to look pretty this season. Keeping it real part dos

Of course, he was praising the Bulls at the time. But hey; a smile’s a smile!

Does anyone else feel the same way that I do when it comes....

to the level of intensity this team plays with? It’s next to nothing as far as I’m concerned.

It depends

Sometimes I think they play with a lack of confidence, as much as effort.

Bingo

This team doesn’t have a leader and that’s the biggest problem. We need someone who isn’t afraid to get in people’s faces when they need it. Mix lack of leadership with a lack of talent and you get 3-13.

+1

Gerald is the one most likely to get in someone’s face but I think with him still developing his game he hasn’t taken on that role. Definitely miss G-Force in that regard.

I wonder if Diaw's laissez-faire attitude is a...

contagious cancer to this team. He represents little value to this team. We need to trade him ASAP.

I mentioned this a week ago.

I’m just glad he’s not infecting our starters anymore. His last year in a Bobcats uniform, guaran-damn-teed.

Because he is a rookie with no offseason

I dont really care about just getting 1 rebound in 10 miniutes he had no time out there and has had no time time to get into a rhythem all season and your getting on here and going after both him and Kemba when there are players on this team that did just as bad. Gosh are you MP?

by TS BOBCAT on Jan 21, 2012 10:55 PM EST up reply actions

yeah

the lack of minutes for Biz is really puzzling to me. It wasn’t like anyone was really standing out in the frontcourt to keep their minutes.

Why are some of you so offended...

when I criticize this team? Some of these stat lines and performances are unacceptable. The Bobcats level of production and intensity is offensive and that’s what I’m saying. Changes need to come fast and furious or the Bobcats will cease to exist.

by Derek Leazer on Jan 21, 2012 10:57 PM EST reply actions

We are not offended we are annoyed when people bash them over and over and over and dont comment on any other players

You act like we can make a couple of changes and be a championship team and we wont it is going to take time. And if your worried about the Cats leaving, dont be because they cant leave for like 30 years due to there building contract. Plus the attendance at games is going up.

by TS BOBCAT on Jan 21, 2012 11:00 PM EST up reply actions

No. I expect this team to play with more intensity and...

competitiveness. This team takes losing like it’s a walk in the park. Silas sees this apathetic indifference and it drives him nuts. I’m only expressing the same frustration that he has plainly exhibited.

by Derek Leazer on Jan 21, 2012 11:09 PM EST up reply actions

You realize that the team playing like that is his fault right?

When a team plays with no energy and does not care about winning(which is only Boris) its a coaches job to fire them up and make them want to win. If you cannot get your team ready and willing to play to win you should not be a coach.

by TS BOBCAT on Jan 21, 2012 11:14 PM EST up reply actions

I can agree with that. But, I think he's at his whit's end....

because he’s probably tried everything he can think of. As a player, Silas didn’t need a coach to motivate and inspire him to play with every ounce that he had in every game. He can’t relate with this team.

by Derek Leazer on Jan 21, 2012 11:19 PM EST up reply actions

Hendo and Mullens are trying

Boris has never cared, I think DJ is not inspired because h e knows he is playing for a team where he is not the PG of the future. And Kemba and BB aretrying but they had no offseason and that has more effect on rookie then people think, what rookie besides Irving is consistenly good? We cannot freak out when they have bad games especially when thet have mostly good.

by TS BOBCAT on Jan 21, 2012 11:53 PM EST up reply actions

Here's the problem

We all like the Bobcats. The Bobcats are our favorite team. We all know the team sucks. We like to look for positives that we hope will be built on for the future of the team. We do not need people here just spewing “Kemba sucked, Biz sucks, the team sucks. Silas should be fired. Maggette should be cut. Etc.” We are hear to talk about things like “Henderson has looked really good lately” and “I’m liking the flashes I’m seeing out of Biz.”

If you are having issues with the season we are having than you came into the season with expectations much too high.

by JDeLong42 on Jan 21, 2012 11:51 PM EST up reply actions

First of all, I'm not a fan of the "s" word that is used....

to describe players, or anything else for that matter. I just call it how I see it. I agree that I could stand to hold the truth back a bit in my comments and be more positive. But, this is a team sport and the Bobcats look like a bunch of indifferent individuals. A large percentage of the comments on this thread seem to reflect the same sentiment. The Bobcats don’t play like a professional team should, and I get attacked by a “team” of individual fans when I point this out.

I also couldn't help but cringe tonight....

while listening to the Bull’s radio play-by-play and color analyst discussing how selfish this Bobcat “team” plays.
