Charlotte Bobcats vs. Cleveland Cavaliers preview -- Game 14
reminder: today's game is at 2:00 p.m. EST
Today's Tunes:
"I'm New Here" - Gil Scott-Heron
Game Overview: It hasn't been long since these two teams played each other. Last time, the Cavs mauled the Bobcats on some very strong play from rookies Kyrie Irving and Tristan Thompson. In general, the Bobcats defense was shredded inside and out as the Bobcats couldn't defend the paint and compensation led to poor close-outs on Cleveland's shooters, who shot 47.6% from deep.
It seems Kemba will stay a starter, but he'll undoubtedly have some trouble against Anthony Parker, who has a distinct height advantage at 6'6". Charlotte's weak frontcourt will be tested by big man Anderson Varejao who will have a difficult time not outrebounding Byron Mullens or anyone else on the Bobcats. Augustin will again have his hands full with Irving's quickness, ballhandling, passing and scoring ability.
Key Matchup: Augustin vs. Irving - In the previous matchup, Irving missed his first field goals and then didn't miss any the rest of the night. Augustin was also pretty good offensively, but I'd like to see him stay in front of Irving better.

Well Im kinda
hyped to see Hendo vs Gee. Both are good defensively and explosive.
Winning streak!!
I would like to see Kemba get a shot to guard Kyrie too. I think he has a shot of just making it tough on him. He’s more physical on D and is pesky with his hands and body positioning.
The TThompson/Biz back and forth for about 4 minutes was my fav part of the last battle with CLE. Lets hope to see more of that!!

Why are they still hanging on to Augustin starting?
Just start Kemba at the one and stop playing people out of position. It’s obvious he provides more energy and more offense than Augustin. Fans want to see him play more because he’s exciting and entertaining. Isn’t that why we watch sports? To be entertained?
Kemba can give you 20 points plus a night IF he starts. Why is that so hard to figure out? Him and Augustin cannot be on the floor at the same time. It’s too much of a defensive liability. Augustin isn’t consistent enough to counteract his poor defense with offense. Kemba can, IF you GIVE HIM MINUTES!!

I agree
But DJ is a good player and he deserves to start. Plus it would hurt his trade value to bench him
Then we should trade him now
His value wont get any higher than it is now. Go ahead and trade him. I think He and Diaw both will end up being apart of a three team trade. Bc I cant see many teams willing to take them straight up. They dont hold much value that way…
Farmar=yucky
Morrow…peaks interest. He’s getting $4 mil per, but how many more years on his deal? I can’t remember.

Just one more year for Farmar and Morrow.
They’re after Mayo and are dangling a pick if they swap for Farmar. Either way, it seems like we could be a third team and get something out of Najera/Boris.
Kyrie Irving probably goes for 25.
Whoever is playing SG will probably score at least 10 points over whichever of our 5’8" guards is on him.
I would be pretty happy if the SG only scored 10 on Kemba or whoever, considering Anthony Parker scored 11 last time.

Same SG might score ten...
but might also struggle to keep Kemba or DJ under 25…so I’ll take it. Anthony Parker’s ankles will turn to dust if he has to stay infront of Kemba. Disintegrated!!! And Hendo has the Israeli….Gee off the bench, I believe, Focus. So hyped to see Gee vs UPS?
Also, would be nice to see someone lock down on Jamison. You know he is gonna try to put on a show in Carolina!! Don’t let him explode on us…..again.
If Hendo shows any sign of common sense
he’s gonna beat Casspi off the dribble. And Casspi cant beat Hendo off the dribble. Gee will be in the game sooner than expected.
And Amp Parker is a good defender. People think he is some old geezer. He is old but he doesnt have half the wear and tear on his body as most players in his age range. He can stay in front of DJ. Maybe not Kemba tho…
Yur right on Omri...
Hendo can make life difficult for him. What are the chances they decide to match our line-up and run in Booby or Sessions instead.
Kyrie/Sessions/Parker or Kyrie/Booby/Parker
seems like about as good a matchup for DJ/Kemba/Hendo as the Cavs can construct.
And yes…Parker is a good defender (learned from his sis!) but no way he can keep Kemba in front of him. Or DJ (if he decides to be aggressive and attack the rim).
Does Mully have a 20+ game? And has DJ White returned to the sidelines yet?
Mullens continues to shine
idk about 20+ but I see a good game on the horizon. He would score more if he didnt pump fake and hesitate sometimes when he’s open. He’s 7’2. He should be lettin it go. But Andy is pesky. Its gonna get chippy
For fun....
How about:
Over/Under= 1 made 3pt FG for Mullens

I think the bobcats should attempt to get a deal in place for OJ Mayo
dude is a baller. Jussayin
Matt Joyce > Gabe (Insert last name here)
Either that
Or try to get in on the deal at least. Dont take Farmar but maybe Morrow. If not sit this one out and try to get in on the DWill or D12 trades. I like Mayo but they may want just a lil too much for him. Unless we can dig Speights out…
Im at the game right now
I live in Winston so I only get to go to a few games a year, im extremly excited. But I was down at the tunnel and Kemba said he would be starting. This might be late news though.
