Charlotte Bobcats vs. Houston Rockets preview -- Game 10

Today's Tunes:

"La Belle Et La Bad Boy" - MC Solaar

Game Overview:

I don't really know what to make of this Rockets team. Kyle Lowry may not be a household name, but he's one of the best young point guards in the league. He can shoot, has great court vision and is a triple-double threat any day of the week. But he's day-to-day on a bruised foot right now, so we'll find out soon whether he'll play against the Bobcats. In his stead, the Rockets are getting by with Goran Dragic, the speedy Euro guard and former Phoenix Sun, who can score in bunches. Kevin Martin starts at SG and is a sharpshooter. In fact, the Rockets have a good bit of scorers in the lineup, including Chase Budinger, Luis Scola. The problem is their best defender is Samuel Dalembert, who is in fact, only one person.

Star-divide

Key Matchup: Gerald Henderson vs. Kevin Martin - In Houston's two wins, Kevin Martin has scored 25 points or more, including an astounding 10-18 from behind the arc. If he's scoring like he can, Martin can help the Rockets put a strain on most defenses with their inside and outside play with Scola.

Around the NBA Links:

Oh man, Anthony Randolph.

Here's a nice visual of NBA teams by age. The Bobcats are the 6th-youngest team in the NBA.

I only have one thing to say: 212

Water is hot at 211 degrees. Water boils at 212 degrees. That one extra degree makes all the difference. One extra degree of effort is the difference between good and great.

We are VERY close to that magic number, too

I mean, look at us. There is only about 211 degrees of separation from us and a championship team. :-P

I think there is a secret meaning to the 212 pregame concept too

Like we’re planning on being 2-12 next week or our win pct for the year will be .212. More to come!

Either way, I hate the new intro song idea. I’d rather them just play the theme song for Gladiator with a bunch of dunk/block highlights.

That would put us at either 11-55 or 12-54.

Yikes.

I'm sorry, but that ish makes no sense to me whatsoever.

Still, slightly better than the ’Canes “We Are” pregame, where they use just about every ridiculous adjective and noun you can think of to end that sentence, most of which have nothing to do with hockey or sports in general.

Personal attacks are the weapon of the ignorant.

I will just warn...

That I will probably be bitching after this HOU game if Kemba has minutes in the teens again and Biz don’t get 10+. Especially in the midst of a b-b-b.

Come on Paul. Make this one Bobcats fan happy tonight!!

Kemba won't be getting 20+ unless DJ gets hurt or we go into overtime.

Just a hunch. Although you may be right about him getting some heavy burn during our triple back starting on Thursday.

I mean, shouldn't we expect at least that out of a pair of top ten draft picks?

Lowry has been reported "good to go."

Kevin Martin, however, will be a game-time call with flu-like symptoms.

Martin out...

Would be real nice! The thought of Carroll, Kemba, DJ trying to chase him around and keep up with him through screens and such…smh. He’s tall enough, a good enough shooter, and a tough follow (ala old Rip Hamilton) that could give us fits. Even Hendo gonna have his hands full.

I would certainly believe Henderson will be matched up against him most of the game.

Interesting that despite our youth, the Rockets are actually younger.

Further, per Bonnell, they’re the least-experienced team in the league, with an average of under three years in the NBA.

I don't know

Mularkey’s done a good job holding Atlanta’s offense back. But I’m glad we get to keep Chud at least one more year.
