Bobcats record: 21-29

Knowing what you know now about Paul Pierce's career, would you rather have him from the start, or Carmelo Anthony from the start of his? I can't really decide.

Mike...

Yo have to ge an invite to be an author…never happened for James, Bruce, or myself. James has a gig at SBNation writing exclusively for the Carolina Panthers, but before he got that gig, he recruited Bruce and myself to create a Charlotte Bobcats blog site of our own. The goal was to create a website to have all Carolina pro sports under 1 roof. The new gig at SBN stalled that, and now Bruce and I are the admins at www.tradestreetpost.com
Bringbackprimoz and hawkeyesbaby are 2 of our additional authors.

So enough with the history lesson. We consider Rufus a brother site, so as part of the Bobcats family, come check us out too

:-)

Bobcats Basketball is my only pro sports passion...

by andrewlail76 on Feb 8, 2011 12:00 AM EST via mobile up reply actions

Let me also add...

We had ideas for numerous recurring articles, such as our debate series “Claw2Claw” to name just one, that simply were not feasible to publish at someone else’s site. After months of people telling us we should start our own blog (include people within the Bobcats organization) we started scouting around. It was about this time that James approached us. James has long been involved with Panthers blogs and very shortly after starting up TSP with us, SBNation offered him a job with a lot of career potential.

But none of this has anything to do with RoF. I won’t speak for Andrew, but I was just as active as ever here at Rufus until about a week ago – even while producing and editing content at the new site. I stopped participating in the game threads because they reached a point of negativity and vulgarity that for me personally it was no longer fun. I decided to take a break from the gameday threads for that reason and that reason alone. What was once a regular gathering to laugh and enjoy the Bobcats had become a nightly gathering of anger and rage at the very players we’re supposed to be fans of. Again, this was a personal choice on my part and had nothing to do with TSP, Andrew, or anyone else. If you feel that choice was lame or if somehow it makes me less of a fan of the Bobcats fan, that’s on you, not me. I have every intention of returning if things go back to what they once were. I still read this site daily. I still watch each and every game and regardless of whether the ‘Cats win or lose, every game is a new opportunity for me to cheer for my favorite ball team. I am a fan of both the Bobcats and Rufus on Fire. I’m just not a fan of reading a constant barrage of trade demands and profanity-filled hating on the very club I’m cheering for.

P.S. - Is it an interim fling or a permanent bromance?

I'll explain here too...

This time last year I was running a Bobcats blog too on a now defunct blog network… so the two aren’t linked at all. My absence from here, Canes Country, Cartilage Free Captain (Tottenham Soccer blog) is only because I’m writing 3+ times per day for CSR.

I only have so much time, and I could participate in the other blogs a lot more when I was writing 3-5 times per week rather than 21-35 times per week like I am now. It’s one of the sacrifices I had to make in taking the step to manager at CSR.

Indeed

You read that report (may have been posted here, I can’t remember) how the NBA rescinds many of these calls, just because they’re totally stupid and inconsistent?

So on the one hand they’re forcing refs during games to crack down on just about everything, but then on the other hand (away from the public view) they just withdraw the calls. So what gives?

well, I feel we had a pretty good 1st half

Team seems to be playing with a good bit of energy. Wallace is doing well tonight, as is Kwame. Livingston had a good 1st half.

Jax was ejected near the end of the 2nd quarter on some really, weak, BS techs. So that’s going to be a problem for us….Could use a bit more from DJ too. And Boris, (lol)

The Bobcats don't get those calls

especially not against Stern’s Celtics.

 * sigh * why am I even surprised? The Bobcats have been shown no mercy by refs all weekend long against the league’s “cash cow” franchises, and tonight is no different. Too bad that the outcome of the game will not change.

We needed that win big time. Gives the team some confidence that they can beat the best.

by passthedamnchipsdavidson on Feb 7, 2011 9:32 PM EST reply actions

I say keep the team the way it is

Look I know we to rebuild a little and all that…but we just need more fan support. Hearing all those guys scream like little girls for Boston just pisses me off. Make it to the playoffs and win a game or two and more people around the area will start paying them some more attention. I listen to 610 WFNZ and before the Bobcats made the playoffs, people never mentioned them one time on the radio. Now more people are paying attention thanks in part to making the playoffs last year.
