Charlotte Bobcats at Orlando Magic preview -- Game 59

Today's Tunes: Time 4 Sum Aksion - Redman

Here we go, ladies and germs. New day, new players. I don't expect any change in the starting lineup from the other night, but this team will be much deeper that the one that suited up against the Kings on Friday.

Dante Cunningham will shore up the power forward position, along with the addition of DJ White. Przybilla, likely in limited minutes, will help Kwame at center. Sean Marks may as well, but it's still up in the air if the Bobcats will hold on to him or not.

Game Overview: The Magic have been quite inconsistent since their trade for Jason Richardson and Hedo Turkoglu. Just last week, they lost to a Tyreke Evans-less Kings team and then the following game, the Magic crushed the Thunder by 23.

Dwight Howard is having a terrific year (MVP quality, though no one's really talking about it because the team isn't as good as last year) and the Bobcats frontcourt is no better than it was the last time the two teams faced each other. It's never a good match-up for the Bobcats, but it will be interesting to see how this new, much younger team plays up to the competition. They showed heart against the Kings, but this Magic team is much better.

Star-divide

Key Matchup:  I've been wrong on every matchup so far, so let's go for three in a row, huh? I'll be a little broader this time and just say the key matchup will be the wings. As Bobcats fans probably remember, Jason Richardson's defense isn't good. Let's hope that Henderson comes out sans the nerves he started with against Sacramento. At the small forward, I'm pretty sure Jackson can handle guarding Turkoglu. Conversely, Turkoglu's defense is decent when he's focused. Will he be focused against a Gerald Wallace-less Bobcats team? I doubt it.

Not Really a Meme-y Thing About the Opponent Because Mickael Pietrus Isn't There Anymore: I know Gilbert Arenas is really struggling in Orlando, but his shoe game is FANTASTIC this year.

The first real challenge for the new Cats. Can't wait.

Hope Hendo goes for 40 and makes a statement.

Hendo can win his matchup, but will have a tough time with Howard in the paint

He’ll have to rely on his jump shot, which is improving, but I still dont fully trust yet. We need shooters against Orlandk. Might be a good night to play DJ and Livingston some together… But some reason Silas doesn’t like to do that.

Orlando seems to be the big team that we always have problems with

We have to guard Howard we need Kwame and Joel to lockdown and try him to get in foul trouble early and keep him from easy scores if we can do that I have a good feeling about today

Were not going to win the matchup against Howard

The only thing that’s worked was hacking the crap out of him in the playoffs. But we don’t have the bodies to do that tonight. Pryz is new and injured, so Kwame will likely get extended burn again… And can’t risk foul trouble.

Really looking forward to tonight

Its going to be fun to see the new guys in action plus I have been enjoying seeing Gerald develop into the player he has become.

HENDO VS. J-RICH OR OAKLEY VS. PAT EWING ?

Let’s hope Oakley can find a way to get Kwame, Pryz and Boris-Najera to bother Howard and get him in foul trouble. Also hope we can contain their guards.

My key matchup is dj vs jameer

Just because Felton got killed in the playoffs and I’d like to see dj continue to justify letting him walk.

What are the chances DJ plays better D against Jameer than Felton

We all know the answer to that, although some dont admit it. Our only hope with that matchup us that they play loose in DJ, and he gets some open looks.

I'm looking forward to seeing how Kwame handles Dwight

We didn’t have Kwame last year. Maybe he can do a better job than Chandler/Nazr/Theo.

Big win by the Suns today in OT over the Pacers

A win today and we’re in the 8th and final spot of the playoffs if they started today.

Plus a win by the Suns is another big one for a team behind NOH in the race for the playoffs in the Western Conference.

A Bobcats, Rockets and Tarheels win would make this an almost perfect weekend for me.

Are all the newbies playing tonight?

Heck of a game for them to get their feet wet with!

Today's game is also Stephanie Ready's last of the season as she's about to have her baby soon
