Charlotte Bobcats vs. Sacramento Kings preview -- Game 58
Today's Tunes: Today by Tom Scott
Today begins a new day in the Bobcats organization. Gone are Gerald Wallace, Nazr Mohammed, Derrick Brown, Sherron Collins and Dominic McGuire. And in their stead are Joel Przybilla, Dante Cunningham, Sean Marks, D.J. White and Morris Peterson. Mike Cranston reports that of the new players, Peterson and Marks will be waived. However, it's unsure that the new players will make it in time to play tonight. Do you know what that would mean?
Eduardo Najera might be getting some playing time at center.
Game Overview: As you may have guessed by now, the Bobcats are going to be quite short-handed, especially at the center position. That doesn't bode well when your opponent has DeMarcus Cousins. Or when your opponent is nearly at full strength, even if they are a bad team. However, the Kings are missing Tyreke Evans, so I guess that helps the Bobcats. But just look at this depth chart if the Bobcats new players don't arrive in time:
PG: Augustin / Livingston
SG: Henderson / Carroll
SF: Jackson / Henderson
PF: Diaw / Najera
C: Kwame / Diaw / Najera
Injured: Thomas, Diop
Key Matchup: Kwame/Diaw vs DeMarcus Cousins. If the Bobcats can stifle the Kings' best player on defense, then I can't really see how the Kings have much a shot at winning. Regardless, expect this to be an ugly game.
That said, I'm SUPER-PSYCHED to see what Gerald Henderson can do with a starting role and 30-35 minutes of playing time.
Meme-y thing about the opponents: GIFS!

One slight contradiction to this
If the Bobcats can stifle the Kings’ best player on defense, then I can’t really see how the Kings have much a shot at winning.
DeMarcus had 9 points on 2-7 shooting with 7 boards, 5 assists, 2 steals and 4 turnovers and 5 fouls last game against the Magic. That’s a bad game for him, but the rest of the team stepped up and they won AT Orlando, who was at full strength.
Don’t underestimate the other Kings pieces, and Marcus Thornton should/might be playing tonight as well.

Hm good point. I'm probably underestimating the rest of the squad

But then again, I wouldn't read into Jermaine Taylor's performance much
Matched up against J Rich. Nuff said

As much as I loved GW...
I hope Hendo and Jack show tonight that we don’t need him. I can see Hendo having a career high tonight….something like 25 points?
Also excited for Hendo
to showcase what he can do with starter minutes. Marcus Thornton is pretty good at finding the bottom of the net but I wouldn’t worry with Hendo hounding him the whole game. I do worry about the frontcourt depth for this game however.
I just hope we win so that the healing process can begin.
Two Things That Have To Change for the Bobcats to Make the Playoffs...
1) Jax keeping his mouth shut and staying on the floor (Not Happening)
2) Diaw consistently playing aggressive (Not Happening)
I’m hoping Cunningham and White turn out to be diamonds in the ruff…(I’ll settle for hard playing Cubic Zarconias)
Jax has behaved himself since the last ejection.
How long that lasts is anyone’s guess, though.
I have a good feeling about Cunningham, for some reason.

I have been reading that the Knicks might be waiving Roger Mason.
If they do I think he would be a great player to pick up. He can back up Hendo and he also plays point. I know he hasnt played great in NY but he was a beast for SA. Hopefully a new city will help him.

Everything I'm reading in previews for tonight's game suggests that the new guys will be active.

Cranston says no
Higgins says Joel Przybilla will arrive in CLT Sat. DJ White later today, but Nazr won’t be in OKC in time for White to be eligible tonight

Interesting
I didn’t know the person we trade away had to be available to the other team in order for our new guy to be able to play.

Well, the time for Henderson to really step up has arrived.
Let’s see what happens.
This will be very interesting if we’re only dressing eight players.
Cant wait for tonight
We bought cheap upper deck tickets and won some sprite contest and they upgraded our tickets to way down low. Its going to be super sweet!
Congrats on your good luck
You will also appear on the in game Bobcats TV. Be sure you have a funny face ready for the camera.
