Bobcats hemmed in by Nets, lose 94-89

The Bobcats were dominated by a young big man for the second game in a row. For the second game in a row, the Cats fell behind by a wide margin early before storming back in the fourth quarter. And for the second straight game, Charlotte came up just a little short, losing 94-89.

GAME THREAD COMMENT

Stevarino -- Brook Lopez's sideburns look ridiculous.

BAD

-- Lopez took a lot of shots, but he still scored 31 points on 27 attempts and, more impressively, pulled down 11 rebounds. Keep in mind, Lopez is having a historically poor rebounding season for a center.

-- D.J. Augustin may have had his worst game of the season, scoring 4 points on 10 attempts, with only 2 assists, all in 28 minutes. Shaun Livingston played more as a scorer when he was in the game and had only 1 assist, himself, so Bobcats' point guards combined for 3 assists in this game.

-- The Cats turned it over 13 times, which is far from terrible, but the Nets turned it over only 5 times. That was a huge advantage for New Jersey.

GOOD

-- Gerald Wallace rocks. 20 points on 10 attempts is fine and dandy by me, with 9 rebounds and 2 highlight blocks, to boot.

-- Gerald Henderson came off the bench to provide a major change of pace from Stephen Jackson, who tends to play deliberately. Henderson, though, is an antelope on the wing. He scored 11 points on 5 attempts, and had 5 rebounds. Not bad for 17 minutes of play.

-- Did the Cats defend the perimeter well, or did the Nets simply not shoot well from distance? Either way, New Jersey ended up shooting 2-14 from three, despite their group of solid three-point shooters. Good times.
