curry to heat
means that kwame is not going to miami
which is good for us, but there are still other teams
1 down...
a few more to go.
Total gamble on Curry by the Heat
Bobcats Basketball is my only pro sports passion...
Collins is resigning
with Atlanta
2 down (although Atlanta wasn’t high on the Kwame list, they were still on it)
for 8.9 million!
That’s a lot of scratch for someone who has never really played.

As of right now its an offer to Chandler he has not accepted yet
But if he does accept it, expect chris paul to GS for Curry.

probably
but golden state still is way over the cap so they gotta get rid of lee or ellis or maybe even both
really just Biedrins
but it’ll be easy for them to find suitors for Lee or Ellis
and I wonder
Can we still get Williams from them
Bobcats Basketball is my only pro sports passion...
How could he not accept it?
I can’t imagine anyone else paying more for him
Bobcats Basketball is my only pro sports passion...
yeah he's going to Golden State
which means they’re gonna go all in to get CP3 (or it means Nene wouldn’t budge from his 17 million starting point) but probably the CP3 scenario
ESPN
stirring the pot as usual, saying that the Warriors are out of contention because Paul won’t agree to an extension
i haven’t read this anywhere else though, so it could be ESPN being ESPN (i.e. trying to keep LA fans interested)
Well...
Chandler hasn’t “signed” so…maybe they are waiting.
I like Curry’s tweet that he feels secure in GS…
I think they may have a firm grip on the rug…and are about to whip it out from under him.
Bobcats Basketball is my only pro sports passion...
everyone's reporting it now
chandler to the dubz is all but dead….
chandler wanted 15 million
and he got 15 million
which means nene is gonna get his 15 million and jordan is gonna get 10 million
tooting my own horn
i said golden state would shell out the 15 million to chandler, knowing it was their only shot at cp3 :-D
Very true...
wheels are in motion…
Tomorrow will be bedlam…scrambles before training camp

other early fa signings
Kapono to Lakers
Mason to Wizards
Ford to Spurs
Hayes to Kings is all but done
Davis looks to be out of Boston.
Where they think Big Stankin Baby goin?

doesnt say
just that he’s frustrated that boston is more interested in pursuing CP3 and other Free Agents than signing him
Boston is asking him to be patient, we’ll see what happens. He’d be smart to see if the C’s remain a contender for Chris Paul.
Good grief. Just lock the league out now and save us the trouble in 7 years.

who wants to get their hopes up for a second
if only to have them crushed and shattered
On whether the Warriors should trade Curry to get Chris Paul:
Ethan Sherwood Strauss, Warriors World: Fact! It’s not like the Warriors are bathing in the sunlight of a championship window. First, a dirty secret: Curry bought a house in the Charlotte area and publicly spoke well of playing close to home. For all the fretting over how Chris Paul is a “rental,” Steph could be merely a longer-term lease in the Bay Area. And if the Warriors get this Chandler-Lee-Wright-Ellis-Paul lineup, that team could contend and woo CP3. This real possibility is only exceeded in strangeness by how so many fans are saying, “Nope, too much of a risk for my always-mediocre Dubs.”
Ah...the Curry pipe dream...
He’d fit well here…

What?

It's going to be funny how quickly Chandler
dissolves back into his old suckish self. He’s got his contract, he’s got a ring, he’s got no Dirk. He’s going to be considered an albatross around All=Star weekened.

according to woj
there’s no way mathematically that the knicks can sign chandler AND paul
if chandler signs with knicks, paul is not going to golden state
the knicks could just be trying to cripple the warriors shot at offering paul an extension, but i doubt the dubs call their bluff
The deal would have to involve the Knicks
using the amnesty on Billups and trading Turiaf. For Tyson Chandler!!!? Who the f**** do they really think Tyson Chandler is?

apparently
cp3 would rather play with chandler than amar’e… THATS NUTS
lol turns out woj was wrong
but no one saw them shopping amar’e…
you know what annoys me? if cp3 wanted to play with chandler so much ,we could’ve kept him and been in the running ourselves (legitimately apparently)
http://twitter.com/KBergCBS
woj is all over it too
the Celtics have moved into the lead
in the Chris Paul sweepstakes, but Paul hasn’t expressed interest in signing long term… it would be a 1 and done run for the championship (keeping KG and Allen)
but they need a third team to make it work :-D
I'll call CP3's bluff on that.
I don’t see him leaving a team/city like the Celtics after one year.

The Warriors believe that they’ve lost Tyson Chandler to the Knicks, sources tell Y! Sports.
New York
is looking to do a sign and trade with Dallas sending Billups to the Mavs for Chandler straight up, letting Barea walk in FA (right to the Lakers, presumably)
Billups and Kidd would split time evenly
oh wow
marc stein just reported that the according to close source Knicks could be willing to offer Amare for CP3!!!!!! Stunned…
Apparently Al Thornton is on our radar as well.
Focus has got to love the direction the team is going.

Trade scenario....random. Throw stones now...
Here we go. Bobcats bring in Amare, Billups (last year of contract at about 10 mil), and Ariza.
NY gets their man, CP3.
NO gets a return PG in DJ, Diaw (last year at 9 mil), and Maggs (scoring and a year less contract than Ariza).
Draft picks would have to be peppered in to keep everyone happy. Probably both the Bobcats and NY throwing in picks (NY might want a pick from us, too).
Our lineup:
PG- Billups, Kemba
SG- Hendo, Carroll
SF- Ariza, Cunningham
PF- Amare, Tyrus, DJ White
C- Kwame (hopefully), Biz, Diop
Reggie Williams would still fit good with this group. Looks like a nice matchup of Defense and Offense….with vet leaders to mentor our youngsters. Thoughts?
by mives36 on Dec 8, 2011 4:26 PM EST via mobile reply actions
Update
To make the $ work…we would have to give Tyrus and Najera (who I forgot anyway) to NY. NY then gets Tyrus as a good PF piece and Eduardo’s mil expiring.
Changes our lineup a bit. But opens time at PF for DJ and Biz. Would save us some bucks to find other parts or plan.

if we trade billups
as an expiring, im all for this trade
CP3 to L.A.
Houston is stupid as hell.

Seems crazy for Hou???
Looks like they give up Scola, Martin, and Dragic. Along with a future 1st round pick. For Pau Gasol?? That’s it? No more names? They aren’t kidding that they think highly of him!!
At least they held on to that Morris boy!! Houston! West champs!
Sidenote: I think the Lakers with Paul are REAL nasty…. however, I predict CP3/Kobe drama that might proclude titles??
by mives36 on Dec 8, 2011 7:51 PM EST via mobile up reply actions
i think hornets are pretty dumb too
they basically just got a bunch of role players and only one extra pick, giving them at best a perrenial 6-8 seed out west
they also help put the lakers in position to make a move for howard
The Lakers are already favorites to win the West with Paul… if they ship Bynum and add Howard, they’re pretty much built to destroy Miami and Chicago. New Orleans now has to wait three years and let their contracts run out before picking up the pieces and building a contender.
They got what they could.
Considering the situation they could have been in, this is undoubtedly a good outcome for them. They got something out of Paul before he overshadowed the entire season, and the haul wasn’t bad.
Stern saved the Rockets from themselves.

Say what?
You’re kidding yourself if you don’t think Gasol is one of the Top 15 players in the league. They traded away three decent players to get a star. That’s what Houston has always wanted: a star. They got him.
If u believe that....
Pau Gasol is worth Luis Scola, Kevin Martin, Goran Dragic and a first round pick.
We are gonna have to agree to disagree. And I’m hard pressed to put him in the top 15. Seems like alot of names it would be hard to put behind Pau.
by mives36 on Dec 8, 2011 10:20 PM EST via mobile up reply actions
Those are three quality players.
But just because Pau wasn’t the focus on the Lakers because of Kobe doesn’t mean he isn’t one of the Top 15. Kevin Martin is the best player by far out of those three, and he only does one thing particularly well.
Hahahaha.
I’m sure Tyson isn’t going to GS since Chris Paul turned up the Warriors. The Tyson Chandler was clearly only going to go through if Chris Paul came with him.
golden state was willing to do the trade too
but apparently paul wouldnt commit to resigning
They probably thought theTyson signing would convince him to do so.
And when it didn’t, they axed it.
they should have thought so
chris paul publically announced that he would likely end up whereever chandler ended up, which is why new york went after him (Chandler) so hard
This is awesome
So the CP3 trade has been nixed because the other owners didn’t think it was in the best interest of the league for a team owned by the NBA to give away CP3 to the Lakers. Not sure if it’s professional basketball or professional wrestling but it sure is entertaining!
My heart pumps no Kool-Aid

Amen.
David Stern is a joke. I didn’t even know this, but I just read before that he was the reason the small market provisions were taken off the table to get the new CBA done.
Why can’t he be voted out of his position?
Can you blame them?
The owners were apparently PISSED it happened. Stern has to listen to the owners, doesn’t he?
Owners pissed that the CP3 trade worked...
numbers worked…and teams agreed…

realistically
they were pissed that a team owned by the nba was shipping a superstar to a large market, perrennial contender in LA, when the biggest complaints from owners during the lockout was the unbalanced nature of small market vs large market teams and revenue sharing
it was basically a slap in the face to all of the small market owners and an underhanded move that helped only OKC and the Lakers (poor Houston, what were they thinking). It’s kind of like when you’re in a fantasy league and your team (Hornets)is out of the playoffs so you trade your best players to another team (Lakers) so they have a chance of beating your rival (Miami, Boston, New York)
I guess...

i totally disagree with
stern nixing the deal, but at the same time, i’m glad he did, because it was totally unfair to the rest of the league, and, more importantly, a conflict of interests
(i have a sneaking suspicion that stern was the one pushing the deal because he wants LA to succeed and then, when the owners threatened to not officially sign the new cba, he caved and then is using demps as a scapegoat)
