Low and behold, Time Warner has blessed my DVR with an actual broadcast of tonight's preseason. Tonight, I get to watch the debut of Bis Mack Bi Yom Bo (yes, I'm whoring out his name to meet the word count requirement). LET'S GO CATS!
(Hmm, still not there yet). Tyrus is out. I think Maggette is going to play. Stephanie Ready looks as beautiful as ever. Cool interview with her and Jordan during the pre-game. DJ is playing, and starting. Diop is sweating already (I can't actually confirm that, but whatever). OK, requirement met; LET'S GO!

When I see the team playing like this,
I find it hard to believe we’ll end up being the worse. I understand the projections based on the overall lack of talent, but I still think our team is built better than some teams out there as far as filling holes.

But I think Diop will be a solid contributor once he gets into shape. Every team needs a backup center who can defend …… you just don’t usually pay $7 million a season for him.

Funny Rad story for you
When we got him from the Lakers a few years ago, they ran an article in the paper about him and his outside shooting. During his first home game, he was just throwing up brick after brick and this old lady who used to sit near me started getting mad and yelled, “You supposed to be able to shoot. That’s what the paper say!”
You probably had to be there but it was hilarious. I still use “That’s what the paper say” in her honor.

I only saw one turnover
The other was an offensive rebound and he got fouled. The other he passed it.
We're looking at 2 preseason games where we don't hit 80 points.
That is not promising, although we’re missing a few guys who will help in that department.

Last year I created a fan post called "How many games will the Bobcats score 100+?"
I thought about creating one this year called, “How many games will the Bobcats score 80+?”
It looks like I would not have been too far off. The scary thing? I think we will have more 100+ point games last year than 80+ point games this year.

I do like him
Am I going to cuss and moan if he doesnt make the team, no. He will not be anything special but I likethe little upside he has and he is better then Ely and Uzoh. And I have seen plays where his athleticism matches his brothers he just cant ball like him. Plus we need another SF.

i'm way more disappointed in kemba than hendo
hendo d’d up JJ pretty well and was the victim of two awful calls
i am disappointed with his offense, but at the same time, it’s not like we should have realistically expected him to suddenly improve over one offseason
but yeah, kemba really needed to bounce back from last week and he only had like two good moments the whole game, looked lost in the rotation and even more lost on defense
We need to take into account
WE HAD NO OFFSEASON. These poor rookies are getting thrown into the fire almost unprepared. You can see his potential.

setting your feet properly when shooting is fundamentals that he should’ve learned in rec basketball
he missed two open looks that he created himself simply because he rushed his shots and didn’t set his feet properly
in the pregame paul silas mentioned that several players need to understand the defensive philosophy but don’t yet and i know that kemba is definately one of them
shifting the right way on a zone and communicating a screen are basics
Just give the dude some time man
This is what I was worried about I hope people will just give Kemba and BB time.
Admittedly, I didn't watch the game.
But I don’t have great expectations from Hendo to start off the season. He is fresh off a surgery. It’s not like he’s back to full form yet or has had time to really learn his new limitations.
Give him time. If he’s still disappointing at the end of the season, well, that’s when it’s really a problem.

Well Kemba didnt take every shot
He tried to distribute better but he still had the shoot first mentality. Biyombo showed how raw he truly is but his defense is as advertised and you can see the rebounding potential, I still say he is our Ben Wallace.

The 2nd half was basically an extended tryout for the final few roster spots. All 15 players got at least 5 minutes, and nobody played more than 26 minutes (Maggette). Mullens’ range was a very nice surprise. Augustin had a much cleaner game. Biyombo had a few beastly blocks, but he didn’t really blow me away with his overall defense. Then again, he only played 16 minutes. Hendo simply must shoot more than 3 shots in 23 minutes. And I’m gonna need Diop to lay off the jump shots. Pronto.
Honestly, I don’t feel any better or worse about our team after tonight, but I’m still very intrigued. Looking forward to seeing Captain Jack bitch about a call Monday evening.
