How many wins will the Bobcats have this season?

Since such prognostication is really just an educated guess, let’s work under the assumption that there will be absolutely no injuries this year of any magnitude. Everyone stay’s healthy, and there are no major trades. With those givens, how many games will the Bobcats win this year? My guess, is the top end would be 25-28 with anything over 20 being acceptable as_long_as the team shows heart, plays good defense and doesn’t give up.

i'm less optimistic about our chances to win

we haven’t replaced Wallace and, although statistically, Maggette is the same as Jackson, he doesn’t have the same passion… i was/have been a vocal critic of Stephen Jackson but i always at least prasied his passion for the game

also, it’s very unlikely that Tyrus doesn’t get injured this season, lol, but I’ll assume he doesn’t

I’m gonna say we win 18 games in this shortened season

I'm going with 18-48 for their record.

I just think that the two lottery picks will perform better than advertised. I realize that just one game does not a season make, but against the Hawks Kemba sure looked like a baller. I would be surprised if he doesn’t push DJ for the starting PG spot before too long.

And Bismack is the wild card. Usually bigs take longer to develop than guards do in the NBA. But if the stars align and he is able to provide a defensive presence, alter some shots and grab some boards, this team could instantly be at least competitive against two thirds of the league.

Just my thoughts …

Agreed.

I think our two rookies are a factor that many fans are not really giving a shot to positively impact our season. Call me a shameless homer, but I really don’t think we’re going to be at the bottom of the barrel in the NBA this season…or even close to it. Time will tell.

This may sound odd

But I think we will easily be one of the worst 5 teams in the league AND I am still really excited about this season. I’m not sure wins and losses matter that much, it is about developing young players. And for the first time in Bobcats history, it feels like the front office has a plan and that at least gives me hope that we’re headed in the right direction.

And I think I’m going to create a big “You Got Biz-Smacked!” sign to hold up every time the Biz swats one into the stands!

My heart pumps no Kool-Aid

I feel the exact same way, so it doesn't sound odd to me.

I’m looking forward to simply seeing what Kemba, TT, and Bismack do on the court, the wins and losses aren’t really on my mind.

I’m also looking forward to seeing what DJ and Boris can give us so we can try to get some sort of tangible assests for them at some point before or at the trade deadline. I’m looking forward to the future.

I think the Bobcats will win anywhere from 5-15 games this season...

I truly think we’ll be lucky to get into the teens. I’ve thoroughly gone through NBA rosters, and objectively, we are clearly one of the most talent deprived teams. Most other teams have much more talent in their rosters. I know that I will get hell and a half for saying that traitor-like statement, but hey, I believe it to be the truth.

Kemba will be a stud, however I think he and DJ will share the position.

As for Biyombo, I think he’ll struggle mightily on the offensive end. Defensively, I expect him to be pretty sturdy, but I expect him to be lost offensively.

And as for Mullens, I don’t expect much.

Overall, I think we’ll end up with a high, high lottery pick.

I agree. I was pretty optimistic with my prediction.

I think that is the objective this year. We had to get out of the purgatory of being a middle of the road team. Since it was hard to go up by attracting a big name free agent, we turned towards the bottom of the league so we could start from scratch and build up. Being the Ohio State homer I am, I hope we get Sullinger in this upcoming draft, assuming he gets over this mini-onslaught of injuries he’s endured this year.

HATER!

It’s too soon to predict we won’t be playing for the O’Brien. You’re so pessimistic, it’s a wonder they let you post on this site.

Hey, I love the Bobcats. But I'm going to be realistic.

If you ask me, I’d say that most people here are homers and incredibly biased to this team. I love this team as well, but I think that I can see the bigger picture without my biases. Sorry, but we aren’t very talented. And I’m not really sure that Biyombo is going to pan out.

You sarcasm isn't amusing.

There’s a difference between realistic and overtly pessimistic.

Fun times.

This is also what I envision any Eddie Najera video should sound like.

im going to be optimistic

and say we win 17.
i feel as though January will be a horrible month for us, but i also think we will be a very exciting team to watch (as Bobcats fans)

as ive said before, at least we have good young talent that we will want to watch, and not a mixed-bag of awful players. we wont particularly be good, but i do expect for Kemba and Bismack’s development to certainly be a highpoint of the season

I'll go with 21 wins.

I’m taking my three year old to opening night and had to explain to her that Gerald Wallace won’t be on the team this year. She was heart broken until I reminded her that they sell ice cream at the arena. So when we are sucking out loud this season just remember that ice cream exists.

by milky C on Dec 22, 2011 8:17 AM EST reply actions

Im saying 18 wins tops

This current roster is simply awful…i hope we exceed expectations, but as of right now, its not looking too good

by weezy21 on Dec 22, 2011 11:35 AM EST reply actions

20+

I look at this year as an extended pre-season for next year. The Bobcats will be fun to watch. They’ll surprise some teams just by outrunning them. I think the Front Office is molding the Bobcats similiar to the Trailblazers, with the offense of the Warriors, waiting to draft the Superstar to become like the Thunder.

If that makes any sense…
