Adam Morrison hoping to get back to NBA
Good luck.......
http://probasketballtalk.nbcsports.com/2011/11/29/report-adam-morrison-released-in-serbia-seeks-nba-return/
Adam Morrison is back. Hide the women and children barber shears.
Last week we passed along the report on how Adam Morrison was playing like his old self in Serbia — a feisty scoring machine. The guy we saw at Gonzaga.
Now from the same source — Sam Amick at Sports Illustrated — comes the report that Morrison has been released from his Serbian side so he can try and get back in the NBA.
According to a source close to Morrison — who had no opt-out clause and was being paid approximately $350,000 on a one-year deal that began in October — was let out as a “good faith” gesture. After averaging 15.5 points per game and showing some of the fiery style for which he was known in college, Morrison received significant interest from some Euroleague teams and is even confident he could return to the NBA.
Unless a Euroleague team gives Morrison an offer he simply can’t refuse, he plans on returning to the United States on Wednesday. Morrison indicated via e-mail that it would be his preference to play closer to his homeland, saying his preference was to play “hopefully somewhere in the Western Hemisphere.”
If I were a GM looking for a wing scorer off the bench I would consider giving Morrison a camp invite. No way I would do guaranteed money, but I’d be willing to give him a look. You’d be surprised how well his Lakers teammates spoke of Morrison and if he has matured and regained his confidence there are worse gambles out there.

hahaha
we gave kwame another shot, why not ammo
How sick would it be
If Morrison came back and was a baller on some other team?? lol

I certainly hope he gets another shot somewhere in the NBA.

I wouldn't mind seeing him back to come off the bench
Especially if he can score like he used to. That’s one thing the Bobcats really need.
Like I told TSP on Facebook,
I wouldn’t mind having Ammo back. He could certainly add just as much of a contribution at the SF as Cunningham can. Jordan may consider it because it would be another opportunity for him to “redeem” himself as he kinda did with Kwame last year. For a team in need of scoring as badly as ours, I say give it a shot.

FYI I am TSP
and I got blasted by one guy for even mentioning bringing AmMo back.
If we got room, why not? I trust him more that I do Dante in situations where the ball needs to be shot and he’s more than 15ft from the basket
AmMo looked decent enough to be a bench guy, and Silas is the coach to give him confidence back

Between his sophomore season being sabotaged by that preseason leg injury and Larry Brown
Ammo never had a chance in hell. I’d personally love to see him return to the NBA, fresh off of regaining his mojo from overseas, and become the scoring machine that I hoped he’d be…even if it’s for another team.
Plus, he has multiple NBA championship pedigree; what franchise wouldn't want
that on their roster?
Newton for '11 ROY!
Walker for '11 ROY! I mean, assuming the lockout will end anytime soon...

Ok Mr. Morrison
Just cause you got 2 rings don’t mean you can just barge in here and pretend you’re an AmMo fan.
Well
I guess technically you can…
If you want to come back you need to call Rich Cho…his number is…

I would love to have ammo back
I never felt like he got an honest shot. I feel like he is good enough to be in the NBA and be a good contributor.
We're all about second chances

I mean im willing to give him a chance
We are gonna suck anyway probably, why not take some of the young potential around the league and see what happens
What need to do is...
Sign a starting center… no not Kwame, but we should resign him as a backup. We should get an offensive minded SG and a third pg that his specialty is defense. By doing that a couple of the Bobcats PF’s gotta go.
he actually looked very solid
the year he was injured. during preseason games he seemed to be getting his swagger back.. ammo imo wasn’t really given the opportunity.
i would personally like to bring ammo back… and his hair as well… and his stache…

Would Adam be enticed by the idea to redeem himself where it all came crashing down or would the bad memories in Charlotte kill any good Mojo he’s gotten back. Certainly MJ would look smarter if it worked out. I bet he wouldn’t cost much.
Larry Brown is gone
And the absolute best coach to give a player his confidence back is here now…

In terms of merchandise sales,
we can get all those crates and boxes filled with discount AMMO merchandise and mark them up to full price, if we did bring him back. Think of the sales possibilities!
Lord knows we still have tons of his merchandise.
He looked good overseas. Looked very confident. That's what he needs.
He would not be bad off the bench for some team. I would give him a look. I’m sure he could make a roster.
+1

His hair
He should never have cut his hair. That was his power. Now he has his hair back, his power is over 9000
So...is Morrison going to get his number 35 back when he gets back here?
Just thought I’d ask since I still have the jersey

Guys! Guys! LOOK!
STOP IT!…I didnt post in here. I saw it get up to 46 responses. LOOK! We are rebuilding not TRYING to SUCK. Lets think about this for a second. I know we ALL have soft spots for players who play/played here. BUT REALLY? Are we seriously entertaining the idea of bringing back MORRISON? COME ON guys. Do a few deep breathing exercises, log off if you have to. Think about what we are saying. We wont sign d-league scorers but we want Morrison back? He is the epitome of D-League. And I doubt he’d avg more than 8ppg there. STOP IT FELLAS…
Why does it matter?
We are going to suck anyway. He has talent mine as well see if he can be a guy that is productive off the bench.
Exactly...
We give him a min, unguaranteed deal…and we let Silas work on his confidence level…
Just like a D-League guy…there is NO RISK.
If the goal is to suck…NO RISK on having him at least come in. You can tell he’s added muscle…and his shot looks decent…
Seems like the take a chance argument only works when it is your own suggestion?
Euro League, D-League…what’s the difference?
If you say “But it’s AmMo” I swear…that isn’t an excuse. We’re all about getting guys on the cheap…why can’t we offer unguaranteed contracts to guys just to see what they got…even AmMo? I didn’t say give him a 5 year deal…I said give him a shot, so unless he stole you girlfriend, knocked up your sister, or you dropped a $grand on AmMo gear, I don’t understand the utter hate. I have an utter hate for Larry Brown for not playing Derrick Brown, DJ Augustin, Gerald Henderson, or AmMo when he was here. I think that hate is justified. Hate on AmMo…I don’t think it is fair.
Bobcats Basketball is my only pro sports passion...
The GOAL is NOT to suck
thats the EXPECTATION…dont bring back Morrison just because when its plenty of players out there with the skill and the confidence and just missing the CHANCE. Dont go sign some cat that squandered his opportunity away being lazy. Let sleeping dogs lie.
PS: The name Ammo now belongs to Anthony Morrow…
Morrison was lazy?

Morrison didnt wrk to improve his game.
to me, thats lazy. We are rebuilding.I dont think we understand what that means. I think we automatically assume that rebuilding means just sucking until we get alot of draft picks. Thats not it. Getting better is also apart of it. Its absolutely no gain to us to bringing Morrison back whether that be Monetarily or production-wise. You think Cho took this job to plan on how to absolutely suck? NO. Derrick Brown was picked up bc of his drive and willingness and want to be here. DC is as good as gone…and dont see why we would pick up Morrison with players like Nick Young, Marco Bellineli, Von Wafer, Reggie Williams, Shawne Williams, Vujacic, Stuckey still out there…
cause he's cheaper?
Didn’t work to improve his game?
It appears he did in the Euroleague…
I recall a knee injury and a coach that killed his confidence…which included ruining a facet of his game…the 2 point shot…because Brown HATES the 3-ball

You can't sit there and advocate
picking up so many of these D-leauge players and then say “no” to Morrison so instantly. If you can get a player that gives you Kyle Korver-like production off the bench for the minimum, there is ABSOLUTELY no reason not to especially when you’re building a TEAM like we are. Funny you can always talk so much about us needing skill sets and then hate on the idea of bringing Morrison back for next to nothing because you hate how it went for him the first time here. He would probably instantly be the best pure shooter on our team if we signed him. Tell me that we don’t need that. And those other guys are going to demand multiple year deals. Not that I wouldn’t mind having any of them here, but for the sake of maintaing financial flexibility, there is nothing wrong with bringing Morrison in.
I'm gonna live forever, I'm never gonna die. The only thing I fear is I'm never gonna fly.

Right...the first time
Meaning he’s been here before. You know what kinda laffing stock our team would be for bringing back Morrison. You know what that does to MJ’s already tarnished reputation as a GM? Why cant we sign a guy that HASNT had a chance. Why bring back Morrison? Somebody show me his Euroleague stats. Please. So I can see what the big fuss is about. I know alot of us are scared of unfamiliar names but tuff cookie, gives some YOUNG guys a chance that havent had one…
We werent a laughing stock when ever we brought Kwame back
Plus who cares what people think anout us and I can tell you what they will think… NOTHING, nobody is going to be paying attention to us this year. And you act like 26 is old.
why would people laugh at us
for bringing in a two time nba champion?
further, why should we care about what people think about us? i mean, we’ve surely already been considered a laughing stop plenty of times.
oh and young guys from the d-league are still usually unproven, guys like Ammo are not.
ammos euroleague stats – 29 minutes, 15.5 points, 50.7% fg, 39.1% 3pt, 87.5% ft, 3.1 boards, 1.5 assists
those numbers aren’t eye popping (he did have 27 and 30 point games) but they’re far better than guys like thabo, seraphin and, oh yeah, reggie williams, ever got
for comparison's sake
Reggie Williams
10.9 minutes, 4.9 points, 59.1 fg%, 20% 3pt, 1.3 boards, .9 assists
Ammo played 8 games, all Euroleague sanctioned with Serbia
Williams played 7 games with Spain, 3 of which were Euroleague sanctioned.
Let’s try Sonny Weems -
8 games, 31 minutes, 17.6 ppg, 49.4 fg, 47.8 3pt, 62.9 ft, 6.1 rebounds, .9 assists, 1.4 steals…
Andrei Kirilenko, maybe the best Euroleague player of all time
5 games, 30 minutes, 13.8 ppg, 56.5 fg%, 60% 3pt, 80.6 ft, 9 boards, 3.4 assists, 2.2 steals, 3.2 blocks
nba players who played in euroleague
Thabo Sefalosha
Joey Dorsey
Kevin Seraphin
Reggie Williams
Nicolas Batum
Ty Lawson
Sonny Weems
Nenad Krstic
Andrei Kirilenko
Acie Law
Nikola Pekovic
Sasha Vujacic
Ersan Ilyasova
Rudy Fernandez
Danilo Gallinari
Jordan Farmar
David Andersen
DaJuan Summers
Devin Brown
Alonzo Gee
Zaza Pachulia
Darius Songaila
Just like we were such a big laughing stock
for signing Kwame back, and look how that turned out. The point isn’t to choose Morrison over all of your little prospects, the point is to not choose all of your little prospects over Morrison just because you don’t like him. I’m sure he’s a much better shooter than any of your D-Leaguers, but that doesn’t matter huh?
