Around SBN: Will Rhymes 'Fine' After Being Hit By Pitch And Fainting

some fun wishful thinking

I posted this in the forums, but...

Charlotte trades - Boris Diaw, DJ Augustin, Desagana Diop, future draft pick

Orlando trades - Dwight Howard, Hedo Turkoglu

Bobcats waive Hedo Turkgolu

2012 Bobcats Roster

C - Dwight Howard - $18,091,770

FC - Bismack Biyombo - $2,404,600

F - Tyrus Thomas - $7,305,785

SG - Gerald Henderson - $2,250,600

PG - Kemba Walker - $2,024,900

FC - Eddie Najera - $2,750,000

G - Matt Carroll - $3,900,000

F - DJ White - $2,001,167

C - Kwame Brown - $1,150,000

Payroll - $52,895.000

6 spots to fill, $5,105,000 remaining

Projected pick - 11th

2012 - 2013 Bobcats Roster - in order to keep Howard at least interested, and the players developing, an MLE is going to have to be signed, or, preferably, an expiring traded for.

C - Dwight Howard - $14,000,000

FC - Bismack Biyombo - $2,404,600

F - Tyrus Thomas - $7,305,785

SG - Gerald Henderson - $5,000,000

PG - Kemba Walker - $2,024,900

C - Kwame Brown - $1,150,000

G - Matt Carroll - $3,900,000

2012 lottery pick - $2,000,000

MLE acquistion - $5,000,000

FA acquistion - $3,000,000

Payroll - $45,796,000

5 spots to fill, $12,214,000 remaining

Projected pick - 19th

2013-2014 Bobcats roster - new cap estimate - $55,000,000

Either Biyombo has proven himself, necessitating a Tyrus trade, or he hasn't. If Tyrus is on the roster, then Biyombo would be under his last year of rookie contract. MLE acquisition is traded/expires. Chris Paul signs with Charlotte Bobcats.

C - Dwight Howard - $14,000,000

PG - Chris Paul - $14,000,000

FC - Bismack Biyombo - $6,000,000

SG - Gerald Henderson - $5,000,000

PG - Kemba Walker - $2,024,900

2012 Lottery pick - $2,000,000

2013 Lottery pick - $1,600,000

FA acquistion - $3,000,000

7 spots to fill, $7,375,000 remaining, or 6 spots to fill $3,340,000 remaining if Tyrus remains.

if we could get howard OR paul i would be elated

to have both would be ridiculous. imagine the possibilities…

Boone Logan is a good boy. So is David Robertson. Team A.J.

The point for Orlando would be...?

Personal attacks are the weapon of the ignorant.

Panthers '011: This is what we've been waiting for...we get to overpay the core of a 2-14 team!

$$$

to start from scratch/buy free agents

That team would suck

Paul and Dwight both NEED what this roster is missing…Does anyone else see what is missing? Think about it. What made them both sucessful at what they do?

Ok I’ll tell you. They were both surrounded by SHOOTERS. Paul didnt have as big as NAMES as Dwight did but Bellineli, Ariza, Green and West (17ft) could all shoot. Hedo, Arenas, Lewis, Richardson (both), Reddick, Ryan Anderson and Nelson could all shoot the three. This is important when you are talking about a dominating inside presence or floor general. That team above doesnt have that.

why do you assume

that none of the lottery picks, or the free agent, OR any of the void players, won’t be shooters?

He'd have Hendo

One minor issue

You wouldn’t be allowed to waive Hedo. He has a guaranteed contract.

Could we amnesty him?

Nope

You can only amnesty players on your roster at the time the lockout started.

i thought you could cut anyone

as long as you paid them for the remainder of the season, which is the case in my scenario

otherwise that sucks

by adamcawa on Nov 28, 2011 10:51 PM EST up reply actions

True, you can buy them out

But you would have to pay his full 3 years and $34 million. And that ain’t happening.

Lol. That deal

has no chance against something like what the Nets are rumorly reported to be ready to offer.

Exactly. So you know we have no chance.

On the other hand, Marc Gasol only wants 9 million a year. I think that would be a wise investment for us if Memphis can’t come up with the dough.

That's a steal if we could get him

I believe we will be a facilitator in a trade between with other teams, where Najera and/or Boris nets something (not much)

Theoretically, that's great

Although I see Marc as one of those guys who could get his big contract and then blow up (literally) Eddy Curry style.

The Nets Offer is very good

Dwight is not coming back. The Nets are offering a young Brook Lopez (20pts, 6reb 1/5blks) guy. And two first round picks in a stacked draft. Plus they are willing to take 18mil of Dwight’s salary. Leaving Orlando with a decent center and a hell of alot more money to play around with. Dwight is leaving at the end of the season. I’d sleep well knowing I got Lopez and two first rd pick for someone who was gonna walk anyhow

by focuslja on Dec 1, 2011 1:32 PM EST up reply actions

Thats not the issue. You cant base it by that. Thats not how things work. Once Dwight is gone, Orlando is at rebuilding phase one. Having Lopez and two first round draft picks is a good starting point.

by focuslja on Dec 2, 2011 7:52 PM EST up reply actions

Not to mention they will take back Turkoglu.
