Whataboutbob_cat's 9th (and season finale) Weekly-ish Funtime Basketball Related Update: Sports Memorabilia
I actually thought the 8th update would be the last because I ran out of ideas. But lo and behold, here is the 9th edition!
Before we delve into this final update of the offseason, I must give credit for the inspiration to this post to the folks over at Bobcats Planet. I know there's been some rough feelings between the two sites but I hold very few grudges (exceptions: Shinnnnn!!!!! and Bennnnettttttt!!!!) so... whatever.
Also, I felt this was needed, as maybe like some of you, I have a short attention span and debating Aaron Brooks or Chauncey Billups, among other things, was getting a little tiresome. So, I figured we needed something a little more light-hearted.
The rest after the jump
For those who follow me on twitter (@CardboardGerald), you might know what I purchased this past week.
Via an incredibly nice guy on eBay, I happened upon an autographed Shawn Kemp jersey for $105 shipped. It was too good of an offer to pass up (just today, a new auction opened up. Same jersey, except it was the green away jersey, autographed, but different seller- BIN $550, starting bid- $450). Needless to say, I was a giddy as a schoolgirl in anticipation of the arrival of my new jersey, my holy grail, through the mail. And it arrived today.
Pictured: *drools*
So, obviously this tops my sports memorabilia collection, which includes some posters, a Shawn Kemp pennant, a couple Michael Jordan cardboard standups, a Charlotte Hornets hat signed by Chuck D. (of Public Enemy), a Gerald Wallace Jersey, and an Alonzo Mourning jersey.
Pictured: Sports memorabilia. And also my room.
So anyway, I was wondering, would anyone like to share some of their sports memorabilia collection?
(Note on buying on eBay: if you're trying to find a steal of a deal, look constantly. For days upon weeks, I would search "Shawn Kemp" and order the listings from newest to oldest to see if anything had just popped up as far as jerseys, or whatever. It worked. Just keep an eye out for what you want)

Highlight
To me, the highlight of your collection is undoubtedly the Snoop/Tupac poster. Two of America’s most wanted!

I'm going a mile off topic but
I just saw where ESPN’s 30 for 30 series will be doing a documentary next week titled “One Night in Vegas” which depicts the night of the Tyson/Seldon fight where Tupac was murdered on his way to the afterparty with Tyson. The 30 for 30 stuff is awesome anyway but I can’t wait to watch this one.
I’m getting flooded by Tupac today. I saw an episode of Unsolved Mysteries come on that was talking about the Tupac murder. They gave 3 theories for his death:
1) Rival gang (Crips)
2) Music rivals (Biggie/Puffy)
3) Inside job (security guards)
But they left out the most obvious: That he’s still alive and hanging with Elvis!

It might be his Mojo
JAX is unimpressed and unveils his latest evil plan—he has developed a “time machine” to go back to the seventies and steal Larry Brown’s mojo, a fluid inside his testicles which is the source of his incredible sexual prowess and appeal.

New addition
I’ve added a Shawn Kemp Team USA jersey and I’ve organized all my Kemp stuff into a corner, which I now call “The Kemp Korner”
