I feel like a trade is imminent
With so much activity in the league right now, I think anything is possible.
On Al Jefferson
I’m looking around the league and I’m not really seeing another landing spot for him. The teams that would be looking to get Jefferson are those who:
1) Are not looking to shed cap space
2) Are on the cusp of making noise in their conference
3) Don’t have an established big man, or a prospective big man.
This greatly narrows down the list of teams who would be looking at Jefferson. Originally Golden State were interested, they now have David Lee. So really, who’s left?
Chicago: They have cap space, and a Boozer/Jefferson front court would be scary.
Phoenix: Have the room now Stoudemire is gone.
Utah: Need another big man now they’ve lost Boozer
Houston: If they lose Scola then they will be in need of Jefferson to play along Yao.
Charlotte: For reasons we all know.
Now, who has tradeable assets? Word is that Minnesota want to dump cap space after their recent spending spree, and they also want to free up funds to bring Ricky Rubio over next season. After all, they were recently engaged in discussions that would have sent Johnny Flynn to Cleveland for expiring contracts, so there is a precedent there to send a good player for flexibility.
Chicago: Don’t have any expiring contracts. Want to move Luol Deng, but unlikely that Minnesota would take on his contract.
Phoenix: Have Jason Richardson’s $14 million expiring contract. Definitely a possibility, though word is that they may be looking to sign him to an extension.
Utah: Have Andrei Kirilenko’s $17 million expiring contract. This would be very attractive to Minnesota, but it seems out of character for the Jazz to make a deal like this.
Houston: Have numerous expiring contracts, but much of this is presumably to ensure they can resign Yao next free agency period. Also, their owner has said he’s willing to match ‘any offer’ for Luis Scola and told teams that offering a deal to him would be fruitless, so it appears they’re happy where they’re at.
Charlotte: Tyson Chandler’s expiring contract.
What makes Chandler’s contract enticing is that no extra players need to be involved to make the numbers work. He also allows for the Wolves to have a player to use at Jefferson’s position for a 1 year rental where they can reload at center during the draft or free agency. I think Jefferson to Charlotte is very possible and we have a very aggressive front office right now, let’s hope they work some magic.

Oh, and let me add, Yes... they will be trading him: Per ESPN
The Wolves — who have been aggressively shopping power forward Al Jefferson in various trade scenarios for weeks — have a logjam in the frontcourt that extends beyond the ill-matched pairing of Jefferson and Kevin Love, having recently signed free agents Darko Milicic and Nikola Pekovic. But Minnesota, sources said, is convinced that it will trade Jefferson before the start of next season and felt it couldn’t pass up the opportunity to acquire a talent like Beasley without surrendering any assets.

Chandler's style of play would work well with Love's skill set
I can see it happening…provided Chandler passes the physical.

Just curious, where have you read about us getting Al Jefferson?
I love the idea and think it would be a HUUUUUUGE pickup for us, but after the entire LeBron thing with a million sources reporting a million things, I must say I am a little skeptical.
I dont think theres any news about us getting him its just he is being Shopped and It would make alot of sense for us to go after him. plus we have pieces that the Twolves would find attractive. I think we should be agressive in going after AL this may be one of our last chances to realy make our team better in the off season. We know the other teams in the East have gotten better
Wait? They swapped first round picks too?
That mean you’re going to be adding a top 5 pick to the Heat’s roster next year.
