Summer League game 3: Bobcats vs. Celtics

If you are looking to see the game and can't watch it on NBA TV word on the street is that there are some ways to find it so you can watch it live. The Celtics will be featuring Luke Harangody who looked very strong in his first preseason game and will be playing against Alexis Ajinca.

Here's hoping we see the point guards step up today and Derrick Brown and Gerald Henderson continue their dominance.

but it didn’t count

Henderson's jumper is gorgeous now

It’s the biggest leap I’ve seen from any player

I seriously can’t stand watching him. He just shoots for no good reason, like he doesn’t know what else to do so he jacks it up

This is ugly

The Celtics are playing basketball, the Bobcats’ backcourt is having a shoot around.

20 of the Bobcats 25 shots so far have been taken by guards.

On defense or offense

He is running the point.

So who’s fault is it that nothing is happening offensively?

Who's that geeky white dude on the Celtics

After he hit that 3 at the end of the half he played some shit defense to let Hendo get the alley oop.

Janning I believe is his name

Supposed to be a Joe Alexander type player. He’s pretty good, 14 pts thus far

And in line with the Bobcats-Celtics series of the past year, Charlotte is getting destroyed

sadly mostly by pasty white guys

Not to be an “I told ya so” guy but I’ve sorta had my eye on his stats in the D league.

the more i watch the game, the more i want him in a bobcats uni

Agreed

I was gutted when we took Kyle Weaver in the second round of 2008 and left Jawai on the board. Now it’s time to right that mistake.

I can’t wait to see what kind of player he will become with Larry Brown’s coaching.

so lets say MJ makes the right decision to sign Jawai

then we have:
Nazr
Chandler
Ajinca
Jawai
Diop

the way i see it, we have three options:
1) trade Nazr/Chandler as expiring contracts
2) ignore the fact that Diop plays basketball and use him as a paper weight
3) combine options 1 and 2

this way, we can make sure that Jawai can get time, as well as trying to get some use out of Ajinca before the end of the season

I like your thinking

I’m still hoping for a Tyson Chandler for Jason Terry swap with Dallas.

I think I would trade Naz or Chandler

But I wouldn’t leave Ajinca, Jawai, and Diop as our only options at center.

Let’s say our roster is made up of just those 3 players. What would Larry Brown do? Start Boris Diaw at the 5.

by and1droid on Jul 7, 2010 4:13 PM EDT up reply actions

too bad we're getting smashed right now

id have liked to see Ajinca and Henderson play more

--(insert quote, lyric, or joke here)

by StudMuffin15 on Jul 7, 2010 2:47 PM EDT reply actions

I'll give credit where credit is due

- Jeremy Pargo played much better in the second half. He has some skill, he just needs to use it. He’s a terrible jump shooter, but good at making things happen when he drives.

- Jawai was a solid 6pts and 4 rebounds in 16 minutes
- Ajinca looked pretty good, but still fouls too much
- Jerel McNeal is a plate of hot garbage. I don’t know why we played him over Sherron Collins

So does Collins not exist?

I keep hearing of poor PG play, but noone says anything about him and he was the guy I was hoping would be a contributer

Collins looked good the first game, mediocre the second and didn't play the third

Unless there’s some injury we dont know about it doesn’t look good for him
