LOUIS AMUNDSON?

would anyone else be stoked to get amudson for the bench? he was a great hussle and energy guy for the suns and provided some good minutes, I think it would make alot of since if we ended up trading diaw and maybe dampiers contract.  I still dont understand the signing of dominic maguire. was he picked up just for a backup role to tyrus or fill multiple positions? what do yall think. I WANT LOOOOOUUUUISSS!!!!!!

I have no idea of his video game status...

Though there is nothing wrong with Descent.

I think he’s a decent player too…but I don’t want to overpay for him…

+1 to the guy...

who says “check spelling and grammar” without writing a complete sentence!

ha!

I think Amundson would be a decent signing depending on other moves made to the roster. If we trade Diaw for an upgrade at the point, then we likely need another front court player to round out the roster.

Mike Train

Kiss my @ss I didn’t know that i was still in scholl again.. This is a blog and i was in a hurry as long as people knew what i was meaning what is the big deal..

Lazy Dog,

I think Mike Train was trying to help so just chill out! It makes you look ridiculous resorting to foul language. So please take heed and don’t act like a jerk. I, for one, agree that it’s nice when people actually take the time to make sure what they write makes sense and is spelled correctly. This is a blog and yes, people will definitely make mistakes, but it’s not like he called you out directly.

by JayfromVA on Jul 31, 2010 5:03 PM EDT up reply actions

Actually several on here have been calling folks out on the blog about anything and everything...

Seriously…is everyone THAT on edge that they find it necessary, in a blog, to point out misspellings and what not? I mean we all get what is being said, and when you point out a misspelling, mispunctuation, etc…what exactly is the point? Is it fun to point that stuff out?
I got a friend on here…Yo Beem…he types all sorts of stuff wrong, and if we pointed out to him, all of the stuff he types wrong…he’d be sooooo depressed.

So…that said…party on Yo…

Not trying to call people out,

but it’d be nice if we could understand what people mean when they say it and I’ve seen plenty that has needed some deciphering. When did people become so disrespectful because someone was trying to help?!? Not calling anyone out, but just making a point like you were. All things aside, I’m excited to see what will happen with the Bobcats these next few months and am glad to have all you fellow fans on here! Let’s go Bobcats!

I look forward to you and everyone else’s interesting posts on the Bobcats and hope we all have some very good news here soon on the future of the team!

by JayfromVA on Aug 1, 2010 9:22 PM EDT up reply actions

Not sure...

I’m really starting to doubt Chris Paul just because the information that has come out seems to point in other directions. However, I do think MJ and Brown really do want Paul, but it’d involve the team giving up so much and Paul doesn’t seem too interested to come to Charlotte. But I do believe the team will do whatever it takes to make something big happen, and I still believe Dampier’s contract is very valuable around the NBA. I think Charlotte may go after Collison if they can’t get Paul. Both would be very difficult to obtain and I definitely do not want to give up Gerald Wallace in the process. What do you think?

Guys if you go back and look Mike Tain has called Andrew Lail and myself out for mispelling words. This a blogs and it will happen regaurdless of who you are it will happen. But for Mike Train to continue to call people out is just sad. And the cuss word i said was the first one that i have said on here not like some of the others that i have seen.

I understand what your saying, he has been calling people out but i dont understand why people just dont ignore it. All it is is letters on a screen its not like hes coming up to you and threating you or anything. Mike called me out last week and i realized that it was pointless just to argue with him and i needed to be the man and stop. If anyone has an issue concerning one person i have a little advice to mike, lazy, and anyone else email David as he is the only person that can do something about it. Please dont come yelling saying im calling anyone out here or nothing cause it will be pointless i wont argue back.

I don't really think we have room for him now since we traded for Najera.

That makes Tyrus, Boris, Najera, and possibly Derek Brown to fill out the roster at PF. There’s no way you can find PT for all these guys. If we’re able to swing a deal that sends Boris and either Najera/Brown off (don’t want to lose Brown), then I say yes. But, I just don’t see how much he would be able to bring to the team at this point.

by Charlotte Bobcat on Jul 31, 2010 9:49 AM EDT reply actions

He can.

He’s one of those multi-positional players that Brown loves. I’ve seen flashes of him were he’s looked like Gerald and then I’ve seen others were he’s looked like Tyrus.

by Charlotte Bobcat on Jul 31, 2010 10:33 AM EDT up reply actions

No thank you to Amundson. Nice energy guy, but i would rather give those minutes to D. Brown or Diaw. I really don’t like Najera, but they both do about the same things. If we can move some pieces around then Amundson could be a nice pick-up. If the roster remains the same, then i say no. We have got bigger needs than getting another PF that can’t score. Center and Point are what we need. The rest of the roster looks ok to me. Not great, but ok.

by kittylover on Aug 1, 2010 2:16 PM EDT reply actions

Amundson is a 6’9" 230lb. power forward. If he is playing center, we are in big trouble. I just don’t see the need unless Najera and/or Brown are moved.

Alright everyone

I was just saying how every article used to be well written and better than most of those jokers at Yahoo Sports (free though so can’t hate too much), and now that the onslaught of new people occurred, it seems like the quality has gone down dramatically overall.

I’ve also seen several threads that say “WE NEED ______” when NOBODY AGREES with that person. I just feel that the article writing should be left to certain people, that’s all.

I am all for professionalism, although I may be in the minority there, and I cannot stand reading badly written articles… it bugs me to no end

Maybe I’m focusing too much on how the site used to be. At least all the OMGZ CP3 articles have slowed down to a trickle haha

It took me a good while to figure out...

But it dawned on me today…
It isn’t so much that it is the misspellings and what not as it is the extra heavy use of texting “shortened” words like ttyl, bc, tht, rlly…

Though they are annoying, I understand typing that…kinda
Well, not really…but at any rate,it is sometimes annoying, but at thesametime, this is just a blog…everyone lighten up…

The fact that Louis Amundson’s blog, a player we don’t even want, is getting more and more posts is frightening to me.

Hopefully, this is where complaining about how people post and the desire to sign Amundson will both die.

Okay, since it appears that this needs to be said

Here’s the deal with spelling and grammar on a blog.

Good spelling and grammar adds professionalism to a comment. That isn’t to say everyone’s comment has to seem professional. If someone values having their comments being considered in higher regard, then go that way. If getting your comment across quickly is more important, even if that means more people won’t read it or might think less of it, then by all means go that way.

Personally, I prefer nice and tidy comments. Points come across clearer. But I understand that some people make typos and that some are fine with abbreviating most words. So by all means, write how you want.

I think Andrew nailed it perfectly

I understand typos will happen. Crap happens. The “texting” words can get on my nerves, especially the ones without vowels. It can be annoying to have to translate those but I can get that some people want to write like that.

I agree,

the Bobcats have already shown they can compete without having a superstar on the roster. I do, however, believe it would be great if we could add one only if we don’t have to give up Wallace or Jackson to do so. Hollinger has vehemently denied being biased against Charlotte, but it has been discovered that he has crossed out the words"North Carolina" on the map of the U.S. hanging behind his desk. I believe...

You have this slang thing wrong. Slang is shorting three words into one like ttyl, ikr, gtg, and bbl. The people who use things without vowels are either in a hurry or trying to shorten it to get the 150 characters that all text need. Although there are words like l8r and words that are typed how they sound like wat and C most of them dont take out any vowels….Just wanted to clear that up for you.

I use slang when I’m texting or on Myspace, i dont even use it for Facebook as i believe that site is more professional. Plus the red squiggly line under the word which indicates its misspelled is annoying anyways. Lol. <——- Im guessing thats an ok slang word to use on this site as i seen many other people use it?

On a side note can you believe that the word texting is coming up misspelled on my web browser? Hmm.

Last year, we heard rumors that the bobcats were interested in Stephen Jackson…then we heard he didnt wana come here….then it went completely silent and alll of the sudden, the trade went down outta nowhere

my question is, how long was it silent b4 we actuall made the trade?…i cant remember

right b4 he was traded

he said he wanted to go to a contender and a few teams were mentioned…the bobcats name got thrown in the mix and he said he wasnt interested in coming here…of course, he changed his mind very quickly once he got here

Seems like they would wait until closer to the start of the season to run this piece

There are still roster moves to be made. And to do it right in the middle of the Chris Paul thing it seems poorly timed. Hopefully we’ll make some moves that give us a better long term outlook. But if we just cut Dampier, I’m going to wish we still had Tyson Chandler.

by drapht00 on Aug 2, 2010 2:26 PM EDT up reply actions

I doubt

we’ll just cut Dampier. He’s worth too much just to let go for cap room. I think MJ and Brown have something up their sleeve, so we shall see very soon.

by JayfromVA on Aug 2, 2010 4:11 PM EDT up reply actions

That's what people keep saying

and I hope we do trade Damps in a deal that puts a better product on the court. But the longer it takes to trade him, the more likely dumping him for cap room seems. Dampier’s contract is essentially a 13 mil. dollar eraser. His only value is cap room. There’s not as many teams looking for cap room this summer, which somewhat diminishes his value.

Anyways, hope I’m wrong and we swing him over to N.O. in a package that nets us CP3.

I hope you're wrong too, haha,

and that they made a huge trade for him to upgrade the team! I’d love to see the Bobcats make a run at the Finals.

I fear a run at the finals is likely to be at least 3-5 years down the road.

But there’s no reason why we can’t steadily improve with Jordan at the helm and the almost catastrophic contract decisions of the past continue to lapse.

Our real worst case scenario results in us being in the position a year from now (lockout notwithstanding) to have a high pick in the lottery as well as considerable cash to make deals with.
Additionally, it’s VERY unlikely Larry Brown will remain the coach after this season and the team will be able to rebuild quickly under the guidelines of a new coach that may bring some exciting new ideas to the team offense.

Even that disaster has an immense silver lining. I can live with it.

i hope Larry meant it when he said this is the only place he will coach

I don't fear seeing him in front of an opponent's bench.

If we can see his weaknesses, you can bet the players, assistant coaches, and Jordan see them as well. Larry Brown is a mighty fine coach, but the Bobcats would know better than most how to exploit his weaknesses and tendencies were he to sign on with another team.

Let's hope it comes sooner,

but I agree with your post. Unless we pick up a superstar and retain our star players presently, we still have quite a ways to go before attempting to make the Finals. We can always have our wishful thinking though, haha. Let’s go Bobcats!

They should re-asess the NBA Future Power Rankings

after this summer. We’re in the middle of trade season. It’s almost a given that our roster won’t look the same in November than it does now.

they just have to crank out stupid articles to appease the people that actually pay for insider. make them think it is worth it

by unccatfan on Aug 2, 2010 3:05 PM EDT up reply actions

Ouch

Color me a sucker. If it helps my case any, I’m a subscriber mostly for the Scouts Inc. NFL features, which is way more valuable to me than any Insider articles or rankings.

Exactly. Alot of it is legit. But alot of the rumors and stuff they do arent

Their draft coverage is excellent

And I really like the stuff David Thorpe does. Overall I find my Insider pass to be worth it. And hate on John Hollinger all you want, his statistical stuff is usually spot on.

yeah i know. i really wish i had an insider account. but all im saying is they try to fill in the slow news times by putting out articles.

i definatley cnt blame them the way we r right now

thts why unless LB sees something in Liv or DJ and Nazr tht noone else sees then we r in trouble i think

I hear the theme song from "Jaws".. --------^----

Seems we took a chance dealing Chandler in hopes of making a splash, but the churn in the water is gone, and we’re down to a glassy, calm sea. All that’s left is to cut Damp, take the money and run. Nobody wants Diaw (can’t blame them) and there’s no true starting PG on the block that we can make a reasonable deal for. Other East teams geting better, only 1 playoff team sliding back (in addition to us).

Bum……ump. -————^———— Bum….ump

Delonte West

Guys, just noticed that Delonte West got waived by the Wolves. Can he play PG or is he a SG?

by Lazy Dog on Aug 3, 2010 1:25 PM EDT reply actions

West is a PG..

Probably the best FA option out there right now, but he has issues. Gee, what a shock! The guy who publishes another Bobcats blog had this right weeks ago, talking about the Cat’s being analagous to the “Land Of Misfit Toiys”! That made me LOL!
