When, baby, when?
Tumbleweeds are blowing through the blogosphere in regards to our favorite topic. Perhaps that's part of the plan to let things settle down. If a trade were to happen and I'm the NO Hornets, I'd want it to come out late Friday afternoon so the media coverage wiould be less intense (political move-dump unflattering stories late Fri). If I'm the Bobcats or Nets, I'd want it to be the first story of the week (Monday morning) so all the talking heads are blabbering about my franchise for the better part of the week. In any case, here's two links I found to help pass the time. The first mentions trading a "whiner" CP3 to the Bobcats. The second is a great analysis of our current roster.

And now it's like baby baby baby ohhh like baby baby baby noooo
I hope this isn’t what we’re saying at the end of the summer…
FYI
I had to try really, really, really hard not to flag this as inappropriate…. can we not make Justin Bieber quotes a running theme?

LOL what does it say that you recognize it's a Justin Beiber quote?

For me it says
that my 8 eight year old is obsessed with that song, and plays it every night at bedtime. For that reason alone, I have yet to show him how to use the repeat feature on his streeo.
James it looks like
it’s going to come down to NJ and CLT for CP3 with NO having an outside chance (if they can get Melo). What do you think our chances are not that we have viable competition? Does NO still like what we have to offer? If Posey is included, then we have to include Diaw which means no Melo deal. UGGGH my head hurts.
I hope this isn't the case but
it doesn’t look like cp3 is going anywhere anytime soon. Hornets higher ups don’t want to trade him even if Paul wants to leave.

if thats the case...
the hornets management are a bunch of retards…its that simple…they are blowing money and getting nothing in return instead of shedding a bunch of money and building around collison
Agreed. I'm about ready to give up
on this whole CP3 notion. It’s draining the life out of me. So many smoke screens, false information it’s maddening.
I’d say if it doesn’t happen in a week, it ain’t gonna happen.

My guess?
It will happen after the 15th…
While I’m at the beach…

The only reason I say this
is because I’ve been glued to the computer since all of this started, so at the time that I will have the least access to the internet…that will be when it has to happen…

Beach sucks for the internet
I was at Emerald Isle a couple weeks ago and we even ordered Time Warner’s wifi service. It was awful. And it was when the rumors were really swirling. Thank goodness for smartphones + 3G.
man i feel your pain
i went to the beach that friday james and ourday were gunna reveal the big trade….it was killin me…i had friends reading this page religously for me an keeping me updated haha
only to get back an sit here at work for another couple of weeks glued to my monitor
Posey not happening
I don’t see how we can also include Posey. That would require us to throw in Diaw and if they don’t want 2 years/14 million for Posey then why would they want 2 years/18 million for Diaw?

I'm right there with ya
We would have to get a 3rd team involved if they insist on Posey being included unless, for some reason, they want Diaw. Maybe if they’re cleaning house they’ll be trading PF West as well and thus will be needing a starting PF. This, of course, ruins the Melo trade for the Cats.

3rd team...like this maybe:
Trade One: http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=2bwoddj
Trade Two: http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=2avolga

So that would put us
1) livingston
2) jax/smith
3)TT/diaw
4)melo/nejera(or w.e his name is)
5)NeNe/Diop
Sorry but i dont like that at all, for one no depth and for two no PG. Unless maybe we trade jax after that and Diaw for a decent pg and a decent backup 5.
I win as if im used to it, and i loose as if i like it for a change.
But i forgot about dampier my bad, we could get a decent PG or a Decent 5 from him.
I win as if im used to it, and i loose as if i like it for a change.
Trade 1 still happens
Damp for Paul.

exactly
why pay Paul tht much money if he doesnt wana be there and any player tht doesnt wana be with a team will lack a lil bit in there game if there not happy even if they dont mean to so either Paul rlly is happy or he is covering up something
hmm sounds like...
bosh towards the end of this past year…im sure the hornets dont want a player half assing it or not fully committed….i dont care what we have been reading in the news….there is NO way that after a brief meeting, demps and monty convinced paul to stay
“Hey chris i know we still have a cheap owner, i know all we have done is resign aaron gray, i know you are sick of all this, but i promise just like bower promised to you, we will get better…somehow…hopefully…maybe…prolly not…ok im jk we for sure arent getting better….with all this said, can you pretty please just stay?”
So now Paul is happy again ????????
From ESPN: "After his meeting with Hornets’ brass on Monday, Chris Paul released a statement indicating that everything was A-OK again in New Orleans and that he intended to play for the team for years to come.
But we highlighted a few reports that were dubious of such claims. Publicly, Paul may have been playing it nice. After all, players aren’t allowed to publicly demand trades. But privately, some believed he was still looking to be traded out of town.
Yet, on Thursday, John Reid of the Times-Picayune is citing a source that says Paul is indeed back on board in New Orleans.
“After hearing [Del] Demps’ plan for retooling the roster, Paul, a three-time All-Star, is on board with the team’s direction and will not seek to force a trade, according to sources close to him,” Reid reports.
Although this certainly could be valid, conflicting reports are still giving us some pause here.
And it’s still likely that even with this report, it won’t stop teams from continuing to contact the Hornets about a possible Paul trade, even though it’s been widely reported the Hornets are rebuffing all trade inquires for Paul.

Yup
I beilve that is just a smoke screen, the reason we hear that he is still un happy from people close to him is cause they havent gotten to talk to paul scince the meeting, now he has talked to them and told them to tell the media he is happy as if everyone thinks he is happy NO will get more vaule for him. I bet any money the meeting went like this “listen you be quite and say your happy we will trade you in a couple weeks now you keep saying your unhappy your in NO for two more years.” That way for one it dont make it look like NO was forced by paul it makes it look better on Pauls side and Demps side that they did it because they thought it was better not because they demanded it. They only thing we have working agenst us is time, soon Dampier will be past his 60 days, does anyone know when that is?
Signtrues are gay
I'm not gonna do what you think i'm gonna do and just flip out man...
If CP stays in N.O., i would be somewhat proud of him. With all of these other superstars trying to position themselves for a championship run, a part of me would applaud CP for staying. Like it or not, it shows character. As fans, we get greedy when a stars name is associated with our squad. I, as i’m sure we all do, want MJ to do what is best for the Bobcats. Reaching for the stars is admirable. At the same time, i would be intrested to see what moves could be in the works if this supposed deal evaporates. Rome wasn’t built in a day, and neither will the Bobcats under MJ. There is alot of work to do…
