Tyrus the Great

While we wait for the Chris Paul drama to play out, I wanted to get more excited about our one big signing of the off season, T2 (sorry Dominic McGuire/Livingston).  With a full season of Brown's coaching and starter minutes, I think Tyrus finally comes into his own as an impact player.   His defense is already formidable and he's got a wicked baseline jumper but if he can make strides in his post-up game and eliminate the mental mistakes (turnovers, out of position) he could be a real difference maker.  I predict, with 30 minutes of PT, he'll average a double double while adding 2 to 3 blocks a game.  I love his fire and the energy he brings to the team.  He can even play Center in a pinch or in a small lineup.

But what I like about T2 the most, is how he'll neutralize Chris Bosh.  In fact, even if we don't get Paul, we match up pretty well against the Goliath Heat.  Jack on Wade, Crash on Bron, T2 on Bosh.  We instantly become the Miami
killers!

Bust out the crumpets 'cause It's T-Time!

I think

TT will be the one bobcat that is here to stay, he wont be traded

I agree..

that TT will improve even more this year. As blueridgecat stated, now that TT has a full year of LB and a summer to get more intimate with the playbook, he will continue to accel in the system.

This was another move that i was happy that we made.

I'm excited about Tyrus

but does anyone else think we may be overestimating the guy? He’s been incredibly inconsitent in his career. I think he’s in the right situation to be success with a coach like Brown, but he’s not a sure fire star.

12 mil next season is way over paid if his production on offense doesn’t see a lot of improvement. At least his contract diminishes as it goes.

I agree 100%

We r ovverating him

I don’t believe he had a fair shake in the past but with Coach Brown he will blossom. Plus Crash and Jax will be in his ear. lol

by Lazy Dog on Jul 28, 2010 9:59 AM EDT up reply actions

Yea that's the thing

He’s always had the excuse of bad coaching. He’s in a situation where he CAN improve, but that alone doesn’t make him an allstar.

by and1droid on Jul 28, 2010 10:01 AM EDT up reply actions

He's only making 6.6 million next season

Fans never fall asleep at our games, because they're afraid they might get hit by a pass

well he is better then Boris and he tries. Boris sucked until TT showed up then all the sudden he wants to be decent. he is an upgrade from Boris and thts all i need to know

by TS BOBCAT on Jul 28, 2010 10:32 AM EDT reply actions

I'm not drinking the Kool-Aid...just yet

Tyrus has potential, that I can not deny and I would have been mad giving up a 1st then letting him leave. I would have preferred to have Beasley on a one year rental with potential to match any contract. We slightly overpaid for him, but that’s what small market teams have to do. Furthermore, I’m not even sure Tyrus will start next year, and I’m not sure not more suited as a spark plug off the bench. For the money we pay him he will start at some point. I want to see him play more like a 4 than a 3 since he does a lot of roaming for a 4.

Who starts ahead of Thomas?

Diaw? Nájera? And more importantly, based on what grounds? Just curious…

by Newsinz on Jul 28, 2010 10:46 AM EDT up reply actions

Diaw has proven he can play like a starter

That’s grounds enough. Both Diaw and Tyrus have been inconsistent in their career. We just happen to be in the honeymoon stage w/ TT right now.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying Tyrus won’t be good next season, I’m just saying he still hasn’t proven that he can put it all together on a nightly basis to earn his 12 mil next year. I hope he does, but guys around here are talking about him like he’s already an allstar

by and1droid on Jul 28, 2010 10:54 AM EDT up reply actions

im convinced

either u are rick bonnel or u are his son, neighbor, friend, or his lover

which one is it?

by weezy21 on Jul 28, 2010 12:07 PM EDT up reply actions

Fuck this shit

I’m takin’ my ball and goin’ home!

by and1droid on Jul 28, 2010 12:33 PM EDT up reply actions

I think Procto generally trashes Bonnell

So relative to one’s opinion of Rick Bonnell, who’s more like Procton?

by and1droid on Jul 28, 2010 12:51 PM EDT up reply actions

Well...

this is the most attacking I’ve seen you do in a 10 minute span…so it must be something

by andrewlail76 on Jul 28, 2010 12:55 PM EDT up reply actions

How old are you?

I believe it was “…either u are rick bonnel or u are his son, neighbor, friend, or his lover”

Didn’t say you were his lover…gave you a whole list of possibilities. You’re and1droid.
Grow up and stop egging it on.

I would expect this mess from a new guy but not a 1 year vet.
You know how we roll here and this is childish.

I’’m going back to work.

by andrewlail76 on Jul 28, 2010 1:05 PM EDT up reply actions

and1droid

haha man i know ur not his lover…im just messin with u dude…if u agree with bonnel, thats all you…who’s to say my oppinion is any better….no disrespect intended, just a joke

by weezy21 on Jul 28, 2010 1:59 PM EDT up reply actions

I'm not offended by it

Just point out that I’m not attacking anyone.

You can call me childish drew, but who’s egging it on then? You’re calling me childish, telling me to grow up, yet I’m the one attacking people?

I’ll +1 myself cause most of you guys are probably to nice to disagree w/ Drew here.

by and1droid on Jul 28, 2010 4:17 PM EDT up reply actions

Careful drapht00

You start talking sense and you’ll get labled as Boris Diaw’s concubine.

by and1droid on Jul 28, 2010 12:49 PM EDT up reply actions

I'd rather have Tyrus anyday!

He may be inconsistant, but you can always count on him to bring energy on the floor.
Diaw just mopes up and down the court and doesn’t get excited about anything.
The excitement factor alone is good enought for me….it gets the fans into the game more.

by paison on Jul 28, 2010 12:52 PM EDT up reply actions

I'd honestly rather have Thomas as well

I’m just saying that he really hasn’t lived up to his potential yet. Some people on here seem to disagree

by and1droid on Jul 28, 2010 12:55 PM EDT up reply actions

My favorite move so far this offseason

was resigning Thomas. I can’t say I’d be thrilled if we didn’t make another single move, but retaining his services was huge in my opinion. As a starter, I expect nothing less than a double-double average from him, and I think he’ll do it with ease.

LOL! What’s second so far? Signing McGuire?

Fans never fall asleep at our games, because they're afraid they might get hit by a pass

by Bring Back Primoz on Jul 28, 2010 8:44 PM EDT up reply actions

Nah i think Mcguire was one of the best moves so far, i really think he can keep lebron in control. Watch out,
