Around SBN: Dissecting Nick Diaz's Positive Drug Test

Via Blog-A-Bull, in which a FanShot-er took issue with Chris Sheridan's characterization of the Team USA point guard situation, we see that Gerald Wallace is "not on the bubble". But the sentence of "analysis" is puzzling and, frankly, weird.

Much like the Rose-Rondo conundrum, the Wallace/Iguodala/Granger similarities will bear watching in New York. Size and defensive tenacity work in his favor.

I'll allow that there are a few stylistic similarities between Crash and Iggy, and Iggy and Granger, but Crash and Granger? Really? Just look at HoopData's shot locations, and you'll see they're totally different players, even with Granger's increased attempts at the rim and Gerald's increased efficiency from deep.

If Team USA is really choosing between those players and are having trouble due to their similarities, I'd be speechless.

Chandler?

Tyson Chandler has consistently been the best center on the squad?

…Yikes.

I scratched my head with that one too

I’m sure there’s a rational explanation that somebody here can clear up? I hope?

But why do they even think he can stay healthy long enough to reliably not be on the bubble?

Chandler is the best center because:

A) The competition at center is weak! He’s one of three on the squad and none are stars.

B) He’s probably healthy for once. We all know how frustrating the dude is to watch on the bench or 2 steps behind all season, but if he’s playing as reported, it means he’s healthy and up to speed. The dude was a top flight defensive center when healthy.

The front court looks to be especially weak for the U.S. I’m expecting them to pull a Charlotte and stick Wallace at the 4 for stretches. Let’s just hope Gerald can stay healthy.

Oh yea…we also need a center.

Im going to be so mad if Chandler has an awesome season and we traded him for three players that won’t even receive playing time. Maybe we shouldve waited to trade him until before the trade deadline after he had put up some healthy numbers.

no

we better get CP3 before the trade deadline if Chandler is having a bomb season.

I watched the Scrimage and Tyson looked very Good. It was a scrimage but Tyson is the Best Center for the USA team because of the way he deffends and rebounds. The problem is he will probably foul out before he has the chance to be a factor. At this point I am very scarred about our Center situation for the coming year.
