Dampier will stay for less, but...are we interested?

This was my comment on the article:

Dream on, Mr. Dampier. The ONLY reason you're such a hot commodity in the league right now is because of your $13 million non-guaranteed contract that any franchise can make disappear with the "waive" of a finger. We have enough average centers already (in fact we traded two to get your contract), but thanks for offering.

Even if he was willing to stay on board for the minimum, does anyone want him to stick around? Just curious...

I really wouldn't care to have him

His value is the more valuable to the team right now than he is, but if we can’t get something GREAT for him, then I wouldn’t care to resign him for cheap. He can’t be worse than Diop! He’s more a more defensive minded center, which is what LB likes to have on the team! Yeah, he’s considered average, but he started for a Dallas team that has been championship caliber for a while now…so welcome aboard Dampier, but I don’t think you’ll be staying too long…
