WWMJD?
What WILL Michael Jordan do?
I am posting it to get feedback from everyone.
PG is a tough spot for us. We are counting on DJ to be better this year. We're counting on him to be able to run the team. We're also counting on another big trade to land us a PG and/or C. Let's say that Bobcats "bad luck" strikes and we can't land a PG in trade.
Here is the question:
Is he still the answer?
LB loves him and believes he still has game left in him.
If we can sign him for Vet's min, would you do it? If he has half his game left...we get some scoring and a few assists...
As always we have to hope for the best and prepare for the worst.

I voted 'bad idea'... but I have an 'other' also
I love Darren Collison, but at this point it would take a fools ransom to get him from New Orleans. They love him, and they love his price tag which ultimately means I think a trade would be difficult to pull off.
We are seeing a transition now with the Bobcats moving from being Gerald Wallace’s team to Stephen Jackson’s. I’m seeing every indication that Larry Brown, Michael Jordan and the players themselves are happy with Jax being the leader of this team. Gerald leads by example on the court, but he’s not a vocal leader- Jackson is; and from his talk already he’s all about leading the Charlotte Bobcats.
The only thing that could damage the growth of this team is one player who thinks he’s bigger than it. Allen Iverson is the friend you may recommend to a prospective employer, but there’s a reason you don’t hire him yourself. DJ Augustin is still an immensely talented point guard who suffered a crisis of confidence in 2009-10. The last thing you want to do is get an agreement from a 35 year old point guard who has no concept it’s not 1999 anymore.
Iverson only played 25 games for Philadelphia before quitting on him, and in those 25 games he averaged 12 FGAs a game. Raymond Felton averaged 10 attempts last season. Iverson no longer has any concept of what his role on a team should be, and I’m not convinced he had any concept of what a team is in the first place. Unlike players of a similar age like Michael Finley or Grant Hill, Allen Iverson can’t handle not being in the spotlight and is willing to create any behavior, positive or negative to make sure his name is plastered all over sportscenter.
The Wizards will be looking to trade Kirk Hinrich ASAP, and likely will want an expiring contract. They tried to move Arenas, but his contract was too rich. If the Bobcats aren’t able to trade for a top tier PG, then I think we send Nazr Mohammad’s expiring contract to them for Hinrich.

I believe I'll take Iverson Answers for $200 Alex
Working under your scenario – the fit has hit the shan and we have fewer options than a ‘72 Vega, I say we hire Iverson for vet minimum and make him play behind Augustin. If anyone can teach “The Answer” how to play a reserve role it’s Coach Brown. Maybe AI will get the hint if his name is written on his locker in disappearing ink. As a bonus, a free bottle of Metamucil and Geritol every time he scores a double-double.
BAD idea
I liked the option of giving DJ the keys and picking up a backup, but acquiring Iverson is a really bad idea. Honestly, I’d rather have TJ Ford, which says a lot ‘cause I don’t care much for him either.
know the feeling
I’m all about the “Run Screaming away from AI” option.

Iverson as back up PG
If only AI would agree to be a back up PG and lower his ego then he would be a big help to Bobcats in boosting our offense and 3pt shooting.
My choices in summer league PGs are Sherron Collins, Bobby Brown and Patrick Mils
Bobby Brown (TOR) 11pts 0.833FG 3.0rebs 6.0 assits.
Sherron Collins 12.5pts 0.556FG 0.5rebs 2.8assits
P. Mills 12pts 0.5FG 7rebs 9assits
It’s only one game for P. Mils but I’m impressed with his game.. he is showing a real PG should play. Bobby Brown is also good and he is taller while Collins is only good as scorer and doesn’t play the real PG. These 3 guys are on my radar
I can't think
of any type of line up where AI would be beneficial… if we had a player like Carmelo, who can play off the ball and create his own offense, then perhaps, but we don’t… Jack has to dominate the ball and G-Force can’t really create his own offense with any regularity
So AI doesn’t work, in my opinion
I think we should just
try to dump all players except for Diaw, and rebuild around him.
Oh wait…
