Bobcats "free agent mini-camp" names released

Rick Bonnell posted names of players who will be at the Bobcats' "free agent mini-camp". While I'm disappointed that Joe Alexander isn't on that list (again, I'm irrational on the Joey JoJo Shabadoo issue), there are a couple other upside guys that would be interesting options to join Ajinca at the end of the bench in the hope they're able to play hard in practice and surprise us during the season.

Specifically, Yaroslav Korolev is your typical jump-shooting European big who hasn't actually shot that well. To me, if you want to make a bet on that type of guy, you go with Rob Kurz, but there was a reason Korolev was a lottery pick, right?

Second, I'm a big Darius Miles proponent. If dude is limited to 15-20 minutes per game because of injury concerns, I'd love to have him come off the bench. He fits the Bobcats' recent style perfectly: long, versatile, and a reclamation project, of sorts. Of all the players at this "mini-camp", I'd most love to bring Miles on board.

UPDATE: Make sure to check out the Ridiculous Upside breakdown of each player.

No to Joe Alexander

It’s time to let that boat sail.

Should be a competitive camp

The Summer League squad will be full of hungry young guys. I hope the Cats can get someone who can score efficiently coming off the bench. Those 82 point games are hard to watch.

I am excited to see our young players get some more pt.

Tyrus Thomas, Derrick Brown, and Gerald Henderson especially. I think they are all going to have good careers.

Also, how great would it be if DJ and Ajinca became men sometime soon?

All we need is for one or two of our young guys to step up and it will be a huge boost for the team.

Also, Im with the no for Joe Alexander crew. I do have a personal bias against him after WV beat Duke and he said that Duke would be an average team in the big east, but still it does not take away from the fact that he is a lottery bust.

Ajinca never will.

Augustin can as soon as he actually gets a shot to run an offense with starting-caliber players.

Advance apologies if the contents of this sports-based post offended you. I'm just aiming to educate the masses. My law professor says they're asses.

I'm going to add this as well...

WE GOTTA PICK UP MILES!
Seriously…
Not a has been…he’s on the right path…he would learn under the right coach…and he would give us the rest of the oomph we need. So much he could teach Derrick Brown and Tyrus Thomas…and he’s not a bad player himself.

Come on FO…and Come on Miles…earn that spot. You’d fill it better than Hughes did…
