Around SBN: My First Fight: Diego Sanchez

Down ballot voting shenanigans are centered on Charlotte, where Stephen Jackson got a stray fifth-place MVP vote. Meanwhile, Gerald Wallace, the best player on the team, went voteless.

Also of note:

-- Seven voters chose someone other than LeBron for first place.
-- Joe Johnson, another player second-best on his own team this year, received a vote, and Josh Smith did not.
-- I believe this is the first year in his stellar career that Tim Duncan has failed to receive an MVP vote.

Can Timmy Duncan really be getting old?

That hurts. A lot. I knew both him and his dad when Tim was at Wake Forest. He’ll be the first player I followed from college all the way to ancient NBA relic.

I've always wanted to meet him.

I even heaed he was here in Hickory, once, to look at and possibly buy a classic Mustang from a local collector.

He’s always seemd like such a great guy to me. It is amazing that is is now becoming a “long term” guy…
I can barely remember the days of the “twin towers”.. He and Robinson…then Robinson being in the shadows of Duncan…and the days of Duncan…and now…the late years of Duncan…what a road it has been
