In my opinion the Bulls deserve Toronto's spot and we "deserve" the Bucks' spot. We have an easier schedule than Milwaukee but throughout the year our opponent has been the least of our concerns (citing wins against Lakers/Cavaliers and losses against Clippers/Nets). With Bogut gone (MY elbow still hurts) the Bucks failed to stay healthy and therefore don't deserve the 5 spot and Miami has played well enough to take it.
There are few enough games to start thinking matchups (I know some have been doing it for months, on the other hand this is the first time I've even used the P word). I know I will take anyone (citing again the opponent has been the least of our problems), but that won't stop me from rooting for whichever team we can sneak past.
1) Cleveland Cavaliers: 3-1, with the only loss being pre-Jack days (hard to imagine?). Chandler could handle Shaq and I like Wallace/Thomas on Jamison, can Jack limit LeBron to >25 points in four games??? We would need to lay some serious eggs and Bulls/Raptors need to do the opposite to make this happen. Overall pretty unlikely but possible. Last matchup, February 19th, win, 110-93.
3) Atlanta Hawks: 2-2, including the game tonight (4/6). I think this is the matchup we should fear the most. A healthy Hawks squad has proven capable of running us into bad shots (something we don't need encouragement for). We need the Bucks to swap spots with us (or Miami?) and without Bogut I feel good about this, this is the second most likely pairing. Last matchup, tonight, win, 109-100.
4) Celtics: 0-3. In spite of our regular season record you can't help but feel good about this matchup. What can be said about the Celtics that hasn't already been said? Boston fans are sweating anyone at this point, but I can't help feeling they will pull it together. We need to leapfrog both Miami and Milwaukee, thats a tough parlay to put money on, but the pairing is tasty enough to root for. Last game, March 3rd, loss, 80-104.
What yall think??
