About Larry Hughes...

I just thought this file photo of Larry Hughes was appropriate. He's sandwiched by Kirk Hinrich and James Johnson while Joakim Noah completely stuffs his shot.

I can't find the comment, but someone mentioned in a game thread that he/she gets the same feeling when Hughes comes in the game that we all got when Jeff McInnis came in. I'm nodding my head right now.

Vote in the poll.

Poll
What is your current opinion of Larry Hughes?
I feel sorry for him. He shouldn't be out there, because it's a set up to fail.

Just you wait. He'll shoot 12-15 one night and we'll love him.

I wonder if he's better than Stephen Graham at this point.

Deactivate him. Bring back Henderson.

I am Larry Hughes.

I love that people were trying to talk themselves into Larry Hughes a couple weeks ago

and now he’s bombing it.

Tough poll David.

I agree with several of the options. At first I was hitting the “reactivate Henderson” button, but then I realized that Gerald just isn’t playoff ready and asking him to step up after his long and inactive season would be the very definition of setting someone up to fail. From there I moved to the Stephen Graham button but the last month of the season showed me what Graham is capable of and I don’t have to wonder about it anymore. I finally realized that I do indeed feel sorry for Hughes. He used to have the skills to ball in the NBA and it’s hard to look in the mirror and admit it just isn’t there anymore. I know because I shave a face with that expression of realization on it. Most of the time it’s pretty easy, but I never had the experience of stinking up the joint in front of television cameras. That’s gotta hurt.

Speaking of Jeff McInnis...

Him and Hughes both wore #0.

Also, McInnis is still a free agent, for those who were wondering…

We should trade Hughes and Henderson

To someone for a high % perimiter shooter. That’s what we need most coming off the bench at that position.

Let's sign Manute Bol

he can hit the threes.

At least I remember him hitting threes more than Larry Hughes

Murray is definitely the guy who will take the shots

But we need a guy who can make them

The option that would best describe my stance

“Hughes plays ok defense, but i’d rather have Thomas, DJ, DB, or basically anybody else in there.”

but seriously

Hughes isn’t THAT bad. Everybody needs a scapegoat on here — it used to be Graham now it’s Hughes. Neither of them is the horrendous player that they are made out to be.
