2nd half thread
The bad news? We scored 30 points in the first half. The good news? The Magic only scored 41 points, and Dwight Howard is in foul trouble.
I seriously hope the Cats do better than frisbee-retrieving dogs for our playoff games' halftime shows.

I usually like the tnt crew but they were talking about geralds stats etc and why that doesnt make him a superstar, but they must be blind to orlando because dwight howard has done nothing this series on the offensive end, yet he’s a "superstar"
Personally I think the term ‘superstar’ is thrown around too much anyway.
I truly believe there are only a handful of guys who are true superstars, and as much as I love Gerald Wallace he’s not one of them

He seems to really fluctuate from game to game; one game he has like 22 boards then the next he will have 7 it is really wierd
it has more to do with
browns schemes he’s running for that game…. you’ll see his rebounding go down when ratliff gets a lot of minutes because he makes wallace play the perimeter
I ee what you mean, but he is basically protected because he went to the finals last season and gerald didnt
probably
to make up for the other rediculous calls the magic had go there way
weve had three bad calls go our way… the theo “charge” called as a block on anderson, the tyrus flop and that dwight “foul”
as opposed to
around 7 by my count for orlando
so you're saying 7 of the 17 fouls called have been bad calls?
officials are bad, but they aren’t that bad
are you REALLY
going to argue that? seriously.. .at least i admit when our calls are bad
I eant to say protected as in being called a super star i didnt mean in regards to fouls
though he may sometimes get beneficial treatment because he is a superstar
smith's own qualifications
dictate that wallace is a star… because he included tempo into one of the three things someone must have and when wallace comes in the tempo and tone of the game changes entirely
but no, i dont think gerald wallace is a “superstar”… an all star caliber player but not a superstar
Not to mention leadership.
Gerald’s got 4/5 on Kenny’s list.
Howard’s only got one.

These refs are baptizing the bobcats with fire. Hot damn i have never seen such horrible refs in my life.Does it have anything to do with the fact that the cats have one of the lowest viewership ratings of all the playoff teams that they dont want to see an underdog succeed in the playoffs? This was supposed to be the best playoffs ever
It seems like the refs actions this game are dictated by what is happening on the court
I think it is just somebodies turn to get a foul, so they call one.

The first half was just random. Spin the wheel and call a foul.
Gotta put Vince Carter on the line.
Gotta get Tyrus back after his bad acting after he was really fouled.
No last second shot for Tyson. Not sure why the took that one back.
Maybe everything tonight was perceived make-up calls for past transgressions.

And just as they say wallace doesnt provide offense
he starts our scoring with a three
Both teams shooting 36% FG
3 Pt Line – Us 40%, Orlando 29%
FTs 67% vs. 68%
6 more turnovers, 3 fewer rebounds, and 10 fewer FTs.
That the difference.
matt barnes gets away with the hold
they probably wouldve called it had felton not gotten it… not sure if thats good or bad
LOL @ howard
wallace hit all ball…. whose acting now?
hehehehe
really?
can’t complain about officiating if you think that was all ball
but... it was

really shouldn’t foul with wallace in the paint with them… he’s more likely to get the block

uhm... studying for a random drug test?
It’s an LB move. We’ll live by it or die by it.
The bigger question is why is Hughes wearing a Bobcats uniform? He’s doing more for the Magic than he is for us.
by Ourdaywillcome on Apr 21, 2010 8:52 PM EDT up reply actions
I don't understand what's going on
Howard is out of the game and the Magic have increased their lead. The Bobcats aren’t doing something right.
To paraphrase Prince:
This is what it sounds like when seasons die.

So, the Bobcats have 19 points so far this quarter
Their highest scoring quarter of the game thus far. Too bad the Magic have 24 this quarter, also their highest scoring.
OK, let's get motivated
We have all the great pics, I would think that would lead directly to a run from the ’Cats.
This ain't over yet but it's in the category of one of LB's axioms of the game:
“You can’t dig yourself a hole on the road. It is almost impossible to come back from a deficit on someone else’s court.”
We're still so timid
More so than in game 1. At what point do the “playoff jitters” subside, and they just play the game they’ve thriving in for 20+ years? Seriously, Orlando hasn’t even skipped a beat with Howard on the bench.
Maybe the Magic have better offensive flow with Howard out
The ball doesn’t get stuck in the post where there’s almost always a double team and little ball movement. Orlando seems to be more free-flowing and attacking.
Well...no need for Howard to even play in the 4th...
…he might as well be the 12th man at this point.
I'm going to call this now.
The referees were absurd in the first half, but ultimately the Bobcats are defeating themselves. When they clamp down on defense they can’t score, when they focus on offense they can match baskets but can’t get stops on the other end.
Basketball is about both. Doing one or the other is the same as doing neither.
We are. And so are the Magic.
Neither team is playing at the top of their form. But the Magic are more focused and are executing better.

Wallace will never quit.
He’s waiting too long for this. I was hoping Felton would be in the same zone, though.
To bad he had to sit considerable minutes in the second quarter.
I hate when this happens: Wallace picks up his second foul in the second quarter and Brown sits him. How many fouls does Wallace have since picking up his second? None.
Alright...I'll ask: when do we see Henderson?
Seriously, why not? Maybe with 8-7 minutes left in the 4th at the latest.
He's inactive. DNPCD is the only stat you'll see from him tonight.
by Ourdaywillcome on Apr 21, 2010 9:09 PM EDT up reply actions
could've sworn I saw him in a warm up earlier
Oh well. More 3s from Hughes with 20 seconds on the shot clock, anyone?
We need one more basket.
That way we’ll at least beat our score from the season opener and can pretend it means progress.
They're finally playing the right way in this game
Drive and draw a foul, drive and score, drive and draw a foul…..I just hope its not too late.
I'll never understand the charge rule
feet on the line? Feet completely in the line? Whenever the refs feel like it?
So Carter decks Wallace and then looks down at him and laughs in his face?
Orlando was at least civilized in game one (apart from a notable slug to the back of Crash’s head) but they are playing dirty as hell now. A minute or so ago Howard threw an elbow into Crashes ribs before the ball was even passed to him.
I would love to see DJ walk the ball passed half court...
…and just start jacking up 3s. Entertain me, at least! Betcha he’d be around 40% in the 4th doing that.
This is not looking really good.

This may have been asked before, but...
does Wallace ever have his mouthpiece in his mouth during moments when it would benefit him the most? Everytime he’s in the paint, he’s barely hanging on to it.

Augustin wasted WAYYYYYYY too much time on that possession.
We can’t go 17 seconds before we shoot.
We have to shoot with at least 15 left on the clock.
We need to be scoring as fast as we can...
No time to waste…not with the way we’re playing

Wow
Jackson just got smacked in the side of the head by Barnes and there’s a no-call leading to an “and 1” for Orlando…this sucks.
Oh yeah...if I wasn't such a diehard Cats fan
McHale would be boring me to tears. Can’t decide who’s worse between him and Reggie Miller.
Chandler Fail
Just when I thought he was the player that played the best against dwight game one, boy I musta been on some crack
Derrick Brown was lucky to get that basket.
He made a rookie mistake dribbling under the basket like that.
Felton, Ratliff, and Diaw
Three starters that combined for nine points. That’s not going to win many games against any team in the NBA.

This is what the Magic were supposed to do.
Now we have to hold serve on our court in games 3 & 4. If we lose on Saturday it’ll be over and done. The only thing that’ll save us from the indignity of a room full of brooms is the fact that game 4 is in Charlotte.
All hopes ride on Saturday. Those that are joining me at the game REPRESENT!
oh well
I’ve had such terrible week with so much crap to do, and still left to do before week’s out, and I was looking forward to this game tonight, lol, unfortunately, it’s been a downer.
Everyone have a nice evening, and hopefully, we’ll turn things around on Saturday.

Goodnight everyone.
I will be at the game – we got a seat upgrade so I won’t be in the spot I originally said we’d be in. We’re going to be in the executive suite. Look for me there if you’re in the house. PLEASE don’t ask me how or why we’re upgraded.
I’m not giving up on our Bobcats yet and I plan on leaving every bit of my voice behind when I leave Time Warner on Saturday.
Win or lose, the team will be where not one pundit said they could possibly be on Saturday. They may be fighting for their playoff lives, but there’s nothing for this team to be ashamed of because at least they are in the fight in the first place.
