Gameday Preview Charlotte Bobcats vs. Milwaukee Bucks
Pump Up Music: The Strokes -- "Reptilia"
The Big Picture: The Bobcats may be four games clear of the lottery with only eight games to play, but they can't look past tonight to the big matchup against the Bulls tomorrow. The Milwaukee Bucks have probably been the hottest team in the NBA since acquiring John Salmons and they now have the fifth seed, ahead of the Heat.
Brandon Jennings won't win Rookie of the Year, but he's proven that he's a top-flight pro point guard. Andrew Bogut took a huge step forward this season, improving his already rock-solid defense a little, but also kicking up his offense several notches. Those two will be the Bucks' core for years to come, and if this season was any indication, the only thing that can keep them out of the playoffs will be total failure by the front office to find supporting role players, or a total tuneout of the coach. (Note: With Scott Skiles, we're about a year or so away from that.)
Key to Victory: The hype for tomorrow's game has me excited, and I'm not even on the team. Just keep steady, do what's worked all season, and worry about tomorrow then.
Detail That May Interest .08% of You: In 2005-06, Primoz Brezec had a season eerily similar to the one Nazr Mohammed was having before Nazr got hurt.

F*** Clay Bennett. And Charlotte thinks George Shinn is a douchebag.
Love it!
Between you and Andrew I don’t know why most other fans even bother trying.

I'll admit it
The Bucks make me nervous. They’ve been on a tear long enough that it doesn’t look like a lucky streak any longer. The Bucks are for real. I’m hoping one of the front 4 takes them out quickly so we don’t end up having to win a best of seven against them. They have a tendency to give us fits of late and looking past the game wouldn’t be the best of ideas. If we bring our “A” game tonight we should be able to handle them, but if we give them anything close to a chance they’re good enough to take big advantage of it.
Game Number 11 for me this year.
I’ve got to admit I’ve seen a lot of great ones this year (i.e. The Grizz game). This one is the one that I am most excited for. The playoff implications are so great here and we get to see how our Cats fare against a quality playoff team. The Center match-up is extremely important tonight and whether or not Tyson and Theo can handle Andrew Bogut is a huge factor to our success tonight. However, I’m also interested in the Point Guard match-up between Ray and Brandon Jennings. Brandon Jennings gives Ray trouble. End of story. I couldn’t tell you what it is about him other than the fact that he just plays against Ray really well. I was at the Bucks game earlier this year (pre-Salmons, so I guess I could call them the “Sucks”) and although we won due to the fact that the Bucks continually jacked up bad shots, it seemed like Brandon Jennings just had his way with our defense. Now that our interior D is solidified with plenty of solid defensive minded big men I feel a little bit better about holding it down. Either way this game is going to be great and so is the atmosphere, for those who are going, I’ll see you there. GO CATS!
P.S. Sorry about the long post. I had an Ourday moment.
I've only made three
But those three were Ws over the Cavs, Suns and Lakers. Guess I picked some decent weekends to come in from out of town. I’ll be watching on League Pass tonight – go Cats!
Ah man that Suns game was brutal.
REAL brutal. That was the first game I ever took the official girlfriend of maverick24 to a game and she was like “WOW, do they play like this all the time?!?!”
I said….God I wish.
huh? What?
Sorry for the short post. I’m having a maverick moment. LMAO
