Gameday Preview Charlotte Bobcats vs. Golden State Warriors
Pump Up Music: Barenaked Ladies -- "One Week"
The Big Picture: It's never been a secret that I grew up in San Francisco. Thus, I was well aware of the exploits of Chris Mullin, Tim Hardaway, Latrell Sprewell, Chris Gatling, Troy Murphy, et al. I was at Candlestick Park for a Giants game when they showed the NBA Draft Lottery on the jumbotron and the crowd exploded upon seeing the Golden State Warriors get the third pick overall, which, at the time, was surely going to be either Jamal Mashburn, Isaiah Rider, or Anfernee Hardaway -- no way they'd get Webber. My best friend in middle school was obsessed with Felton Spencer. I was at AT&T Park for a Giants game shortly after Baron Davis was traded to the Warriors and witnessed the standing ovation he received when he was shown on the big screen. And I watched a bunch of their games down the stretch and every one of their playoff games during the We Believe run of 2006-07. All that's to say that the Warriors occupy a good amount of real estate in my heart because I grew up around them, but I'm not a fan. They had their chance and missed it. Blame Felton Spencer.
Right now, they're an awful, awful, awful team. But in an entertaining way, unlike, say, the Nets, who are competently miserable and aren't all that painful anyway, because they'll be pretty good soon. If you were going to build a team with one lottery pick, one mid-tier free agent acquisition, one low end free agent, and a bunch of castoffs and never-weres, this is how to do it.
Key to Victory: At every position except center, where Ronny Turiaf is better than Theo Ratliff, the Bobcats will be better than the Warriors. Step. On. Their. Throats. Don't lay off for a second. For all the fun potential the Warriors have, they lose games because they're as undisciplined and unstructured a team as you'll find in the NBA. If Stephen Curry wants to try to freelance, tell Stephen Jackson to put him in his place. If Anthony Morrow wants to sit on the wing and wait for someone to kick it to him, have Gerald Wallace get in his shirt and force him to drive. The Bobcats must remember they're better and blow them out of the water accordingly.
Detail That May Interest .08% of You: The number of Warriors out indefinitely or set to miss the rest of the season is enough to set a rotation.

Question. I know you mention you grew up in San Francisco
But how long have you been living in Charlotte…? Because you fail to mention the homecoming of oh someone named Stephen Curry and Anthony Morrow, who are both from Charlotte, so the home crowd will be largely cheering for them.
I generally find this element of Bobcats games distasteful and don’t want to encourage it. It’s fine to give an appreciative cheer when the guy is introduced, but once the game starts, he’s the opposition, and I despise how people here will cheer during the game for every significant ex-Tar Heel (sans maybe Vince Carter), or in these guys’ cases, dude with Charlotte ties. That said, it’s not really my place to excoriate anyone for doing that. Go to the games for your own reasons, but I don’t like it when that happens.

I'm goin to this game.
The allure of a Gerald Wallace shooting sleeve was too much to stay away. hahaha. No, seriously, that’s about 50% of the reason I’m going. GO BOBCATS! I hope Tyrus Thomas posterizes the crap out of Turiaf. Never in my life thought I’d say this…..it’s nice to have Tyson Chandler back. ugh. I have a bad taste in my mouth just from typing it.

There's a certain group of people arguing that Tyrus Thomas was the target of Wallace's recent remarks.
Others think it may have been Jackson. Was it one or the other or do you guys think it was just “general?”
In the past 10 years, just four team owners have not paid a luxury tax and are not on pace to pay one this year: Donald Sterling, Jerry Reinsdorf, Chris Cohen (Golden State), Bob Johnson (Charlotte).
Two owners’ teams averaged an operating income of over +$10 million per year while their teams have lost over 60% of their games: Donald Sterling and Jerry Reinsdorf.
We don't care as long as the team is winning
Wallace wasn’t happy when Flip was traded. Murray was his road dog. I think the combination of Flip being traded, the losing streak, and the crazy amount of minutes Wallace plays makes him frustrated at times. If the Cats can beat GW today and the Heat on Tuesday, all is well.

That's kind of what I figured. He was just being pissy and honest. it happens.

Looks like RoF will be almost empty tonight with so many of us at the game.
Sorensen will write a negative article about the falling attendance at RoF

Troy Murphy looks like that Russian figure skater Plushenko.
I would post a pic but I don’t know how so just Google it.
I don't care what anyone says about Tyrus Thomas
the trade was a really good thing for us. Now with Jordan at the helm we can finally mold Gerald Henderson into our new and improved version of Flip Murray and Tyrus Thomas can continue tossing royal badassery around the court. I love his energy. I love that he smiles the whole game. I love his tenacity. WE NEED TO RESIGN HIM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I do and I don’t agree with him shooting too much. 12 attempts really isn’t that many. Especially when he’s knocking down 5-7 of them. I’ll take it. It’s already noticeable that having another center available in the game has freed up Tyrus more. Once we get Nazr back along Tyson Chandler things could get ugly in the post. Tyrus might improve Naz’ defense as well since he’s probably used to having to cope with Diaw being undersized. Dj seems out of his funk. Raymond…you’re next buddy.

T-Time was a signficant upgrade
last night we finally translated the upgrade into a win. Hopefully the adjustment period is over for good.

Just visiting from Blogabull. All I can say speaking for a contingent of Tyrus fans is
