Welcome to the Queen City, Charlotte, North Carolina, where Kobe Bryant and the Los Angeles Lakers will play against the Charlotte Bobcats. Hello, I'm Kevin Harlan. Beside me, Doug Collins. The third member of our broadcast team, Cheryl Miller, will join us later. Doug, the Lakers waged an epic battle with the Miami Heat last night. Can the struggling Bobcats take advantage?

Tonight is a turning point
Tonight decides whether the Bobcats are a playoff-worthy team. It decides whether the numerous swaps that have been made to the team this year will pay off, or if it is high time we develop what talent isn’t seeing any PT (Hendo and Derr-Devil to be specific)
Keys to watch for:
Is Felton sticking to his role last year of playing “horri-ball”, or does he come out as the team leader that he claimed to be a little earlier in the season. You remember, the Felton that was shooting only when he had to, and was making those shots, otherwise he was actually making plays.
Is Jax on board? Is he making love to pressure? Is he playing his heart out? He usually is, so ths one will be hard to notice.
Is “Predator” with us tonight? THe bloodthirsty beast who was playing out of this world…you remember that guy, right? The pre all star guy that was also pre hamstrig injury. The double-double guy that was scary to play against.
T2 – Are you the guy who “just wants to play” tonight, or are you the guy who doesn’t get a foul call and comes down court and commits a stupid foul of your own? We need to see the smart, saavy guy who played that first game after the trade.
Theo – um…keep doing what you’re doing and thank you for it
Will we have another guy to play center? Who knows
Diaw – Non-chalant or the guy we loved last season? Let’s not air ball any shots tonight.
Graham…get lost
Hendo and Brown, pester the crap out of LB
LB…Use your bench…That’s what they are there for. The starters are burnt…put faith in the bench and they will put faith in you.
See you guys in a little bit.
Play Hard
Unselfish
Extra Pass
Play all 48 minutes
Play the right way
OK guys, here is the checklist for the night…
Remember…make the extra pass…not the extra 30 passes…
Roll call
It’s nice to be back in the QC and be able to watch on tv although it won’t last long
Lemonade was a popular drink and it still is.
well both
I leave to go back to school in a week and I will be leaving behind sportsouth and bobcats games on tv
Lemonade was a popular drink and it still is.
Used to be you could lie about going to a cats game and park at the 7th st station parking deck for free
just get the ticket validated. alas not anymore, they wisened up. probably cuz they kept noticing some kid going to brixx every cats gameday with a bunch of bobcats posters and signs in his trunk
Lemonade was a popular drink and it still is.
a steal already and gerald draws the foul
getting artest in foul trouble will be necessary. he can shut down dudes
Lemonade was a popular drink and it still is.
Good evening.
I would first like to thank Andrew for nicely ripping off – I mean providing a summation – of our discussions earlier today. I’m loaded for bear and if the Bobcats know what’s good for them they won’t piss me off any further tonight.
I cn provide some post-dinner feedback
But it doesn’t tend to be very articulate and has been known to peel paint.

My guess
is he’s busy keeping something warm.
by Ourdaywillcome on Mar 5, 2010 7:21 PM EST up reply actions
Maybe kobe has one of those nights
where he shoots a little above 50% in the first half, then in the 2nd half he gets overconfident about his shooting, takes wilder and wilder shots
Lemonade was a popular drink and it still is.
I wouldn't mind an 80 point night from Kobe
As long as the rest of the Lakers are held to .001% shooting.

the one thing I find I like about Ratliff getting dunked on
He’s not afraid to be posterized if it means contesting the dunk
Lemonade was a popular drink and it still is.
Rumors went around tonight that Chandler might play.
As a result, the Laker were late coming out to the court.
It wasn’t fear, they just needed a few minutes to contain their laughter.
Lately Diaw has played just about as well
as his countrymen fought against the Germans in yer dubya-dubya-two.
by Ourdaywillcome on Mar 5, 2010 7:20 PM EST up reply actions
oh sh-- Chandler's in!
That’s why Ratliff looked so concerned about getting that 2nd foul
Lemonade was a popular drink and it still is.
I'm off for a bit
Mrs. andrewlail76 has been sick and she wants to check email and find us some Diet Mt Dew on sale.
The countdown begins.
Step right up and place your bets….
At what point in the game will Chandler get into foul trouble, reinjure himself in some way, or just plain stink up the joint so badly that both teams will require oxygen?
there's that part about the extra passes
Ray had an open three
Lemonade was a popular drink and it still is.
Are people booing Fisher getting a foul?
Man if I was at that game I would be Russell Crowe

I would be fighting people like I was Latrell Sprewell

How did sportsouth manage to get a highlight of Hendo?
Musta been that raptors game near thanksgiving when we rolled em by 30-something
Lemonade was a popular drink and it still is.
Well well well
According to Stephanie the team is doing some infighting. It’s nice to know THEY are aware of their problems at least. It indicates there is still some life in that locker room.
I'm of the opinion
the Chandler has been healthy for over 2 weeks. It’s just that it’s really hard to diagnose sloth.
by Ourdaywillcome on Mar 5, 2010 7:30 PM EST up reply actions
I believe he could contribute positively
I mean, even at the D-League leve, you don’t get a triple double by accident.
Especially
when part of the triple is BLOCKS.
by Ourdaywillcome on Mar 5, 2010 7:35 PM EST up reply actions
That means Derek Fisher is only a 1/4 of a player
I can roll with that
"This is not a game for boys. This is a game for men." - Phil Jackson
He's not even half the man
his brother was before he was cut in half with the machete!
(okay, so I’m probably the only phreak that owns a copy of Walk Hard)

Shannon Brown
Arguably, one of the most athletic players in the league. He’s just not good at basketball.
This is where the Cats have gotten ugly of late.
A couple of possessions where they can’t work it inside, and they start giving up and chucking the long bomb shots from the perimeter.
They probably can't hear the roster screaming
over the stadium announcer.

Can't go wrong

Diop is hurt, so D.Brown and Graham are it.
by Ft.Mill Bobcat on Mar 5, 2010 7:48 PM EST up reply actions
Graham IS at the game though.
I caught him on the sidelines trying to sneak a peak at the Uno hand Henderson had to leave when he got the call to go into the game.
by Ourdaywillcome on Mar 5, 2010 7:48 PM EST up reply actions
I think they're booing the refs.
That’s ALWAYS in season.
by Ourdaywillcome on Mar 5, 2010 7:52 PM EST up reply actions
I think it went down like this...
Jordan got beat by Hendo in HORSE, then it got leaked to the media (probably by Hednerson himself). Jordan, as the new owner, told LB that he can’t lose to a guy that doesn’t play. So LB had to put him in. If that’s the case, MJ +1 as owner.
DING DING
We have a winner. The explanation so true it rocked the nation.
by Ourdaywillcome on Mar 5, 2010 7:52 PM EST up reply actions
Every time I hear the substitution buzzer
I’m afraid Hendo is being removed, only to be proven wrong!
They even showed him like he was the one going out
then the anouncer said D——J!!!!!
whoah I thought Hendo was calling for an alleyoop on that fast break
Lemonade was a popular drink and it still is.
yeah but as long as we keep beating them I'm ok with it
Lemonade was a popular drink and it still is.
Yes, but...
If he was the one that started yelling at people in the team meeting, he’s done his part. The team has a completely different look to it now and it’s more than just hitting shots.
I love how athletic the team we have out there is
Ray-Ray, Hendo, G-Force, T2 and Chandler (needs a nickname… Chicken Boob?)
He won't stay healthy long enough
to make it worth the effort to come up with one.
by Ourdaywillcome on Mar 5, 2010 7:57 PM EST up reply actions
Whether Chandler or Diaw, I love this lineup like Han loves Chewie.
by David A. Arnott on Mar 5, 2010 8:00 PM EST up reply actions
It makes our team feel a lot younger
and like there’s future potential, not just a mad dash to 1 or 2 post season trips.
You know, like Tyson Chicken Breasts...
Be nice to me, I’m tired.
It's okay
we promise not to tell anyone.
by Ourdaywillcome on Mar 5, 2010 8:01 PM EST up reply actions
The only other time was when Ray put Chucky Atkins on the floor against Detroit.
I was at that game and the whole crowd just went OOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!
Who the hell exactly
did Jackson think he was passing to that time?
Does he have some kid from the Make A Wish Foundation sitting in the 12th row or something?
I think it's a little of both.
I’m seriously wondering about Predator. He does NOT look healthy out there. He bricked that free throw like Shaq on craq!

anyone on josh powell makes me happy
But what would really make my day- seeing adam morrison get playing time in a lakers loss

Does anyone have 2k10?
If you do check out the new alternates on there for the Cats. They’re the NBA Green week Jersey’s but they’re updated like our new ones are.
Good.
He’s gotten his minute.
Sit him back down now.

He only got 42 seconds
and didn’t touch the ball.

Dell is an idiot
“Gerald Wallace is going with double sleeves tonight!”
That’s every game night, ya dumbass
Lemonade was a popular drink and it still is.
Diaw with another of his patented rebounds
He doesn’t even reach until it bounces off the floor at least once.
When Kobe is 50
he’ll still be able to eat rookies for lunch.
by Ourdaywillcome on Mar 5, 2010 8:13 PM EST up reply actions
I really think Kobe considers it moderately insulting that a rookie’s guarding him.
by David A. Arnott on Mar 5, 2010 8:14 PM EST up reply actions
100% agreement.
It’s demeaning to one of his status.

throwing gear around as we speak.

I really should have taken the over on Gerald Henderson’s minutes tonight. It’s not like there was any reason to think he’d sit much.

I'm surprised at no Derr-Devil min.
But still happy with Hendo. We all knew he could defend. The offense is a plus.
Can you imagine if Chandler was one of the guys
yelling at the others in the locker room tonight about their poor focus and play?
The irony of that one would crack the heavens.
A VERY leggy blonde
in shorts cut so high I can see her imagination without using mine!
by Ourdaywillcome on Mar 5, 2010 8:22 PM EST up reply actions
Truth be told,
I’m not a “leg man” at all, but if they are top notch, there’s nothing better to watch.
A buddy of mine had a hit some years ago with a song called, “Wish I had a girl That Walked Like That.”
I was with him when he wrote it and that’s what we were talking about when he got the idea.

lol!
There was a brunette with bright blue eyes working reception at the studio desk where he was laying tracks. VERY tall and leggy. He said she was tall, but well worth the climb!

Just saw the reason I said wait until the 2nd half. We need to PRODUCE!
Tom is such a sarcastic asshat

He writes and an article saying MJ rarely attends games
Sorensen must rarely attend games. I see MJ sitting 3 down from the bench about 1/2 the games.
by Ft.Mill Bobcat on Mar 5, 2010 8:40 PM EST up reply actions
Wallace and Felton are prime examples this year of less is more. Do something negative on the court, and it can be far worse to the team than positive actions. Like attempting steals in baseball. I can’t remember the last time Wallace took an ill-advised three.
are you going to select your own comment as a comment of the night because that was insightful

This could be the night of nba upsets
Bobcats, Golden State, Pistons, maybe the 76ers over the lakers, hawks, cavs, and celtics respectively
Lemonade was a popular drink and it still is.
Beautiful basketball from the Bobcats right now. Ball movement, aggressive, yet controlled, defense… they’re up for this one.
Agreed but...
they have to be up for more than just the “big” games if they want the playoffs. They have to be just this fluid and aggressive against the New Jersey Nets of the league as they are for the Cavs and Lakers.
by Ourdaywillcome on Mar 5, 2010 8:41 PM EST up reply actions
Did you see Kobe after that miss?
He just lazily waved his arm at the rebound. He looks exhausted and dejected.
What?
It’s spring training time already? Good LORD, it feels like they just finished the World Series a couple of weeks ago!
Lo, Hendo didst play

But Kobe's stopped moving his hand
That’s good news for the Cats.
by Ourdaywillcome on Mar 5, 2010 8:47 PM EST up reply actions
The Cats have GOT to rotate the ball quicker.
Even though Gerald scored the trey, he was standing wide open for a solid 6 seconds. When the defense doubles 2 players, it means there’s someone open on the weak side. You HAVE to make those passes quickly.
Seems to always be our weak point...
Never a crisp pass…
Or maybe never hands to catch that crisp pass has turned the passes a bit stale
When I first came to the Carolinas
back in ‘83, I made that exact comment the first time I saw Belk’s in the mall.
