Tonight's game is going to be huge.
The Hawks are a potential first round match up for us and we need to come out with a win to gain confidence against them. The last time we played, they ran up and down the floor on us. It looked like they were playing NBA Jam and we were trying to play 2K10.

We've beat Atlanta earlier this season
We need to do it again.

Graham has been playing so well, RoF needs to find a new whipping boy.
I like his quick move from the baseline to the basket with a dunk finish.

He's done it two nights in a row

Good evening to my fellow ROF Clown Posse members!
Sorry I’m late. It’s been a long day. I got here just in time to see that tasty putback by Theo a couple of minutes ago.
And Acie Law scores 18 and 22 his last 2 games for the Bulls

Then Noah got hurt, and reality struck.

they’ve been tanking a lot here recently.

Good job Hawks.
Keep doing dumb stuff.
by Charlotte Bobcat on Mar 19, 2010 7:53 PM EDT reply actions
Now...
The Hawks ARE a good team right? Because for a moment there I thought I saw 3 Boris Diaw’s running around in white.
I'm just glad Tyson Chandler is healthy and playing well.
As Tyson Balsahands goes, so go the Bobcats.

I hope they mess around and make it to the conference
finals so I can pull out my Bobcats=championship caliber thread again.

Nah. He the Bi Lo generic graham cracker.
They don’t always crunch.
by Charlotte Bobcat on Mar 19, 2010 8:05 PM EDT up reply actions
We're active on the boards, moving without the ball, doing all the right things.
If these guys play at this level the rest of the way the Conference Finals are not just a fantasy.
But of course, those are pretty long odds for maintaining this level of discipline.
Sorry and1 I may have jinxed us with the praise.
we should have talked about how badly they suck tonight. It worked in the first half of the last game!

Does Teague always have that soft a touch?
I’ve never really paid him that much attention. That was a very nice finger roll.

We do our our best when we push it
Our star JJ and PG – Bibby do not like to push it – we are a weird team
I've actually enjoyed watching them climb up from league doormat to their present level over the years.
They’re one of the teams I’ll actually watch if I catch them on the tube when they aren’t playing one of my fav teams.
by Ourdaywillcome on Mar 19, 2010 8:18 PM EDT up reply actions
What do you think of Marvin Williams?
He showed so much promise at UNC
Man, Stephen Graham sucks!
He almost let the shot clock run down before he hit that athletic layup
I miss Grahman Cracker stinking up the joint.
Who am I going to make fun of now?!
His FT percentage this year is 22%
About 50% of the misses were airballs
by Ft.Mill Bobcat on Mar 19, 2010 8:22 PM EDT up reply actions
He's famous for air ball free throws in my household.
Me, my girl, and my dogs anticipate his next miss.

Brown hasn't pushed for a new player in several weeks.
It should happen any day now.
by Ourdaywillcome on Mar 19, 2010 8:22 PM EDT up reply actions
Oh yeah!
It’s an Acie Law thing. Until he actually shows up on the court it doesn’t count. For a couple of months there, I had to double-check to make sure Henderson hadn’t been waived.

by Charlotte Bobcat on Mar 19, 2010 8:20 PM EDT up reply actions
I’ll bet my life saving that no matter when Procton shows up next he’ll be talking shit about how bad the team is.
I think he'll be more selective this time.
He’ll wait until Jordan makes a decision – ANY decision – that he can twist around to make MJ look like a tool.
by Ourdaywillcome on Mar 19, 2010 8:23 PM EDT up reply actions
MJ could give Procton the team and Procton wouldn't be happy
by Ft.Mill Bobcat on Mar 19, 2010 8:27 PM EDT up reply actions
No, but I bet Procton would sign Wojo and Jason Williams to be his starting back court
Then trade for the worst contract in the league (Elton Brand) and make J.J. Redick our Starting Small Forward
What, to the Hawks?
Hell, if we fall behind by 10 or more, I’ve got a 10spot that says he shows up in this thread!

That was impressive.
However, the “dribble for 8 seconds then try to make a play” offense is normally a recipe for failure.
I used to think Martin was terrible.
Then I started hearing the other teams around the league.
Martin/Curry/Ready rank among the top 3 or 4 talking head teams I’ve heard in the league all season.

Okay...
I’m not kidding around here. I’m being real serious for a minute. I know everyone’s doing cartwheels over Jordan’s press conference, but am I the only one that didn’t suck down all the Koolaid during that whole thing?
99% of what he said likely meant zilch.
That’s why I never bothered to watch it.
So no, I’m with you.
Here's the thing...
If you listen to him, he keeps saying things like, “I’ll do whatever I gotta do… I’ll do whatever it takes… No, I haven’t done this yet, but if I gotta I will…”
He’s smiling a lot but if you listen to what he actually says in his answers he makes it sound like he’s getting ready for a root canal.

which is why I want to leave the name the same. But some idiots who just want to stick it to Bob Johnson are going to force it. Might as well prepare for it. Charlotte Flight? Smh.

Charlotte Flight is a terrible name

Lemonade was a popular drink and it still is.
by WhatAboutBob_cats on Mar 19, 2010 8:47 PM EDT up reply actions
I know.
That seems to be all anyone can come up with though. I feel like there is a reason we didn’t pick that name the first time, because it’s garbage. Sounds like a team you have to unlock on a video game or something.
by Charlotte Bobcat on Mar 19, 2010 8:48 PM EDT up reply actions
Remember in Madden when you could unlock the european teams?
Flight sounds like it came from there.
I have to admit, it was fun at first. I liked making up names. But seeing it actually become something that might happen has made me worried. I like the name, I don’t want it changed, and for most of the real fans who devote their time to the cats like we do, it’d be kind of a slap to the face.
Lemonade was a popular drink and it still is.

by Ourdaywillcome on Mar 19, 2010 8:49 PM EDT up reply actions
I'll be stunned if they change the name.
It’ll cost millions that Jordan no longer has just to make it happen. Then it’s gonna cost millions more to “brand” the team with the new name.
All that and for what? To alienate the people like us that have been there from the beginning? You screw with your core fans at your own peril. I doubt anything at all is gonna come of that.

Nah,
I know some people in real life who have a legitimate “beef” with the team for being named after Bob Johnson. It’s weird.
by Charlotte Bobcat on Mar 19, 2010 8:47 PM EDT up reply actions
but the team wasn't named after Bob Johnson
by Ft.Mill Bobcat on Mar 19, 2010 8:49 PM EDT up reply actions

They don’t realize that there were several reasons we went with Bobcats.

Lol, no, but in NC.
And it played right in to the feline mascot theme they are trying to create in Charlotte to get away from the insects, like the Hornets and Sting.

We had a team named the sting?
Was that that obscure WNBA team?
Bobcats were one of three names that received the most votes...

by Ft.Mill Bobcat on Mar 19, 2010 9:00 PM EDT up reply actions
I don't know about that
The survey the Observer took was pretty overwhelming.
I wouldn’t mind a name change if it was a good name. I never really liked the Bobcats, but I support the team no matter what. They could be called the cupcakes and I’d still like em
The Observer stat difference was 27% to 25%
That means almost half the people that responded couldn’t give a swampy fart.

Looking at the Bobcats, I feel like
our only true weakness is a true low post scorer. I feel like if you exchange Diaw for Boozer or somebody of that caliber down low, then we would be a top 3 team in the NBA.
