Tonight's game is going to be huge.

The Hawks are a potential first round match up for us and we need to come out with a win to gain confidence against them. The last time we played, they ran up and down the floor on us. It looked like they were playing NBA Jam and we were trying to play 2K10.

Good evening to my fellow ROF Clown Posse members!

Sorry I’m late. It’s been a long day. I got here just in time to see that tasty putback by Theo a couple of minutes ago.

by Ourdaywillcome on Mar 19, 2010 7:50 PM EDT reply actions

Now...

The Hawks ARE a good team right? Because for a moment there I thought I saw 3 Boris Diaw’s running around in white.

by Ourdaywillcome on Mar 19, 2010 7:54 PM EDT reply actions

We're active on the boards, moving without the ball, doing all the right things.

If these guys play at this level the rest of the way the Conference Finals are not just a fantasy.
But of course, those are pretty long odds for maintaining this level of discipline.

by Ourdaywillcome on Mar 19, 2010 8:09 PM EDT reply actions

Uh oh Graham,

looks like he’s having a meltdown.

by Charlotte Bobcat on Mar 19, 2010 8:13 PM EDT reply actions

We do our our best when we push it

Our star JJ and PG – Bibby do not like to push it – we are a weird team

by RivBoatGambler on Mar 19, 2010 8:16 PM EDT reply actions

I've actually enjoyed watching them climb up from league doormat to their present level over the years.

They’re one of the teams I’ll actually watch if I catch them on the tube when they aren’t playing one of my fav teams.

by Ourdaywillcome on Mar 19, 2010 8:18 PM EDT up reply actions

Man, Stephen Graham sucks!

He almost let the shot clock run down before he hit that athletic layup

by and1droid on Mar 19, 2010 8:18 PM EDT reply actions

I see Woodson's eyebrows are growing back

slowly but surely

Lemonade was a popular drink and it still is.

Taz man is ripping it up pretty good tonight.

If he isn’t cutting the lane, he’s crashing the boards.

by Ourdaywillcome on Mar 19, 2010 8:31 PM EDT reply actions

Jax was heated thet Diaw didn't get that rebound

by Julius Coxswain on Mar 19, 2010 8:33 PM EDT reply actions

That was impressive.

However, the “dribble for 8 seconds then try to make a play” offense is normally a recipe for failure.

by PanthersFTW on Mar 19, 2010 8:35 PM EDT reply actions

I used to think Martin was terrible.

Then I started hearing the other teams around the league.
Martin/Curry/Ready rank among the top 3 or 4 talking head teams I’ve heard in the league all season.

by Ourdaywillcome on Mar 19, 2010 8:38 PM EDT up reply actions

Lol. Hell yeah.

Especially over Chicago’s announcers. They be talking like they still got Jordan playing for them.

by Charlotte Bobcat on Mar 19, 2010 8:40 PM EDT up reply actions

Lmfao!!!

“And Stephen Jackson gets the assist! Bhahhahahahaahahahaha!!!”

by Charlotte Bobcat on Mar 19, 2010 8:37 PM EDT up reply actions

No way

Someone is padding the stats

by and1droid on Mar 19, 2010 8:38 PM EDT up reply actions

Okay...

I’m not kidding around here. I’m being real serious for a minute. I know everyone’s doing cartwheels over Jordan’s press conference, but am I the only one that didn’t suck down all the Koolaid during that whole thing?

by Ourdaywillcome on Mar 19, 2010 8:41 PM EDT reply actions

99% of what he said likely meant zilch.

That’s why I never bothered to watch it.
So no, I’m with you.

by PanthersFTW on Mar 19, 2010 8:42 PM EDT up reply actions

Here's the thing...

If you listen to him, he keeps saying things like, “I’ll do whatever I gotta do… I’ll do whatever it takes… No, I haven’t done this yet, but if I gotta I will…”

He’s smiling a lot but if you listen to what he actually says in his answers he makes it sound like he’s getting ready for a root canal.

by Ourdaywillcome on Mar 19, 2010 8:44 PM EDT up reply actions

Michael Jordan told Stephanie

he would consider changing the name of the team if the community wanted it. DAMN!!!

by Charlotte Bobcat on Mar 19, 2010 8:43 PM EDT reply actions

problem is the people wanting the name change

wouldn’t give a rat’s ass about the bobcats if they weren’t doing good one season

Lemonade was a popular drink and it still is.

by WhatAboutBob_cats on Mar 19, 2010 8:44 PM EDT up reply actions

I know

which is why I want to leave the name the same. But some idiots who just want to stick it to Bob Johnson are going to force it. Might as well prepare for it. Charlotte Flight? Smh.

by Charlotte Bobcat on Mar 19, 2010 8:46 PM EDT up reply actions

Charlotte Flight is a terrible name

unless you’re a pansy loving ninny

Lemonade was a popular drink and it still is.

by WhatAboutBob_cats on Mar 19, 2010 8:47 PM EDT up reply actions

I know.

That seems to be all anyone can come up with though. I feel like there is a reason we didn’t pick that name the first time, because it’s garbage. Sounds like a team you have to unlock on a video game or something.

by Charlotte Bobcat on Mar 19, 2010 8:48 PM EDT up reply actions

Remember in Madden when you could unlock the european teams?

Flight sounds like it came from there.

I have to admit, it was fun at first. I liked making up names. But seeing it actually become something that might happen has made me worried. I like the name, I don’t want it changed, and for most of the real fans who devote their time to the cats like we do, it’d be kind of a slap to the face.

Lemonade was a popular drink and it still is.

by WhatAboutBob_cats on Mar 19, 2010 8:50 PM EDT up reply actions

Wow. I'm a ninny

but I don’t love pansies. I prefer sunflowers.

That was a close one.

by Ourdaywillcome on Mar 19, 2010 8:49 PM EDT up reply actions

I'll be stunned if they change the name.

It’ll cost millions that Jordan no longer has just to make it happen. Then it’s gonna cost millions more to “brand” the team with the new name.

All that and for what? To alienate the people like us that have been there from the beginning? You screw with your core fans at your own peril. I doubt anything at all is gonna come of that.

by Ourdaywillcome on Mar 19, 2010 8:49 PM EDT up reply actions

This name change stuff

is about 10 teenagers and people who never been to a game loading up the comments section of the Observer.

by Ft.Mill Bobcat on Mar 19, 2010 8:45 PM EDT up reply actions

Nah,

I know some people in real life who have a legitimate “beef” with the team for being named after Bob Johnson. It’s weird.

by Charlotte Bobcat on Mar 19, 2010 8:47 PM EDT up reply actions

That's what people don't realize.

They don’t realize that there were several reasons we went with Bobcats.

by Charlotte Bobcat on Mar 19, 2010 8:51 PM EDT up reply actions

Lol, no, but in NC.

And it played right in to the feline mascot theme they are trying to create in Charlotte to get away from the insects, like the Hornets and Sting.

by Charlotte Bobcat on Mar 19, 2010 8:54 PM EDT up reply actions

Bobcats were one of three names that received the most votes...

…after suggestions were solicited. The other two were Flight and Dragons. Flight as in fleeing the city. Dragons as in KKK. Which of the three would you choose?

by Ft.Mill Bobcat on Mar 19, 2010 9:00 PM EDT up reply actions

I don't know about that

The survey the Observer took was pretty overwhelming.

I wouldn’t mind a name change if it was a good name. I never really liked the Bobcats, but I support the team no matter what. They could be called the cupcakes and I’d still like em

by and1droid on Mar 19, 2010 8:47 PM EDT up reply actions

Has the Observer ever had another poll with 6,945 votes?

Most polls get less than 1,000. Seems like someone wanted to rock the vote.

by Ft.Mill Bobcat on Mar 19, 2010 8:55 PM EDT up reply actions

The library poll will probably pass that mark

I seen a report talking about

a possible sign and trade for T.J. Ford if Felton decides to leave next year. The Bobcats have been in love with Ford for the longest, so, I can see it happening.

Dude is tall and he makes 9 million a year

Which means he can have pretty much any woman he wants. Life is good for Diaw. He doesn’t even have to give 100 percent at work to get his full paycheck.

Dang

The girl pressed against his back in that photo looks almost identical to a girl I dated a whole bunch of years ago, only she was 4’ 11" tall. That’s really kinda freaky, considering that she’d be 50 years old now. But I have a couple of photos in an album somewhere where you’d swear they were pics of her.

The Atlanta announcers need to get more excited about this.

Looking at the Bobcats, I feel like

our only true weakness is a true low post scorer. I feel like if you exchange Diaw for Boozer or somebody of that caliber down low, then we would be a top 3 team in the NBA.

by Charlotte Bobcat on Mar 19, 2010 9:06 PM EDT reply actions

I know a lot of people hate his guts

but when I saw Noah playing last season I couldn’t help but wonder what we could do with a true young center like that on the Cats under Brown’s tutellage. I still think if we had him, we’d be planning to see the Lakers in the finals.

by Ourdaywillcome on Mar 19, 2010 9:27 PM EDT up reply actions

Sorry, this has nothing to do with the Bobcats, but it's irratating:

There are 3 games on that is within 5 points of each other in the NCAA Tourney.
Yet they continue to show a 19 point Duke rout.
It is making me hate Duke even more.

The Hawks are so dangerous because they have

a lot of players that can isolate you one on one and do you in.
