Open Gameday Thread Charlotte Bobcats vs. Oklahoma City Thunder
Oklahoma City Thunder at Charlotte Bobcats, Mar 17, 2010 7:00 PM EDT
TV: Fox Sports Carolinas
Radio: 610 AM
SB Nation Thunder Blog: Welcome to Loud City
I'll be at this game, so the recap will be delayed a bit. Now, to share a knock-knock joke my brother made up when he was eight years old.
"Knock knock."
"Who's there?"
"Dwayne."
"Dwayne who?"
"Dwayne da' pool! I'm dwowning!"

over/under
on Gerald or Larry playing tonight?
"Smokey this isn't 'Nam this is bowling. There are rules!"
I'll bet 10 bucks that Larry Brown plays if we put up a performance like last night

If we bring that weak mess up against OKC
like we did last night, this game will be over quicker than Chandler can pick up 2 fouls.

Why foul Durant during a layup?
The dude’s automatic from the line, no point in getting a quick second foul

True enough Bob...
But if they just waited a couple of minutes one of them would have gotten one fair and square. It’s no fun if they don’t have to earn it. They won’t try as hard!
by Ourdaywillcome on Mar 17, 2010 7:53 PM EDT up reply actions
Where was the Technical?
Even the announcer said Thomas was called, “for just a gesture.”
We’re getting our butts handed to us, that’s fine. We’re shooting 29% so we deserve it.
But we can do without funky foul calls.
speaking of funky calls
pissed me off last night when LeBron clearly goaltended a layup that would have cut the cavs’ lead to 1. Instead, the pistons couldn’t recover

Any moment now, a kitchen sink will sail out on the court to play the 2.
No way is the OKC announcer straight.
“In the old days he’s what we call a rough-rider… Let’s talk about Durant’s strength. He backed into that big man, twisted and reached around… and just STUFFED it in the hole.”
Wish I was kidding.
yeah that drew some ire from me too

If we come out in the 3rd the way we started the game all we gotta do is keep it under triple digits and we’ll have a chance in the 4th.

Why is it okay to have a Latino night (and I’m not saying anything against it) for the 15% Latino representation.
But if anyone suggested a White Night they would be shot, stabbed, lynched, and then shot again?
it's just not a good idea
unless it’s done in a joking manner.

I just found out why we lost last night
I came back to the team on March 5th and we beat the Lakers that night. Since then, we’ve won our last six games. But I wouldn’t say I’ve been the difference. I’m just trying to do my part. It’s not all about me. The team has been playing incredible. But it does make a difference when you have all the guys healthy on the floor at the same time.

let me put it this way:
most kids my age have no idea Kobe was a Hornet.
or that the Raptors used to have pretty cool purple jerseys.
yea. i completely miss the 90s and pre 2000s.

with Grant Hill?
oh yea lol. not to mention the beautiful Bulls jerseys: back with red pinstripes (BRING THEM BACK!!!!)
although, in retrospect, i have no knowledge of the Cavs before LeBron. i dont think anybody does actually.

but they were terrible in retrospect.

One major difference between last night and tonight
We only have eight turnovers with 7:00 to go in the game. Last night, we had ten or eleven turnovers at halftime.
that is the difference maker
good call. we had 5 at the beginning of the 2nd quarter

Good call.
It’s a definite factor. Our defense has us in it, but it’s our recovery from a DISASTER of a first quarter on the boards and our low turnovers that have us ahead.

Looking back over some of my comments tonight
I’ll be surprised if David doesn’t shoot my dog.
or you for that fact

Oh baby, did we need that.
it was getting a bit tight.
And the enigma of the Bobcats continue.
“Hey, have you seen the schedule?”
“No, why?”
“We gotta play the Bobcats next month.”
“Oh hell! We gotta lose some games and get under .500 or they’re gonna KILL us!”
+1

We are finally getting some of the "good team" calls
Fouls and calls we haven’t been getting in the past are starting to come the Bobcat’s way. I like.
maybe its because its St Pattys day.
we are just getting lucky?

Was just checking the scores and your team makes NO sense.
how you can end winning streaks of top teams where you have no chance of winning and then losing to teams where it should be an automatic win.

You know,
after the first quarter I thought we’d be tossing this one by 30 or more.
I have no explanations.
had you told me
that we lose to Indy, but beat OKC in a back to back,
id have slapped you in the face like Rick James.

Wow, this game...
Has given me the exact opposite feeling of the feeling I got after last night’s game.
As long as the teams we hit in the playoffs have winning records
we just may take this whole damn thing!
Uh oh, until the playoffs I think our schedule is pretty weak

where did this
version of Stephen Graham come from? Honestly can’t even begin to hate on him right now. He killed it tonight.
"Smokey this isn't 'Nam this is bowling. There are rules!"
maybe Gerald's ankle reincarnated itself and became Stephen Graham.
