I'm here

But I’m not all there.

The key to this game – DON’T FRIGGIN’ LOSE!

I think that about sums it up.

by WhatAboutBob_cats on Mar 10, 2010 7:22 PM EST up reply actions

An orangutan is an ape

not a monkey. But he’s running out of technicalities.
Since nobody else is asking…

What exactly, is the importance of a photo of a shark and a monkey?

by Ourdaywillcome on Mar 10, 2010 7:25 PM EST up reply actions

No, I get that part.

I just want to know why David has been “searching for a photo of a shark and a monkey for years.”

I mean… is it part of a collection or something?
Is he also in the market for a nude photo of Bea Arthur and a football helmet full of cottage cheese?
(Now THERE is an abscure movie reference!)

The Sixers are inbounding like the ball is on fire.

They must think they can catch the Cats off guard in transition to D.

Nice block by Boris!

That’s the first time I’ve heard the Philly crowd all night. I had to look to be sure they’d unlocked the doors to the place to let folks in!

Wow, Philly's PA announcer

sounds like he popped about 4 quaaludes before the game.

I LOVE seeing Henderson in the first quarter.

Now if we can get LB to remember there’s someone ELSE on the team named Brown, we’ll have really gotten somewhere.

As long as they auto-tune the commercials

and not the actual songs.

Too many second-rate singers relying on auto-tune to cover up their lack of skills lately.

by Ourdaywillcome on Mar 10, 2010 7:50 PM EST up reply actions

I think the commercial basically

Is making fun of the auto-tune and exactly how goofy it really is. Hopefully the auto-tune trend dies out soon.

by Stevarino on Mar 10, 2010 7:51 PM EST up reply actions

I won't be on here long

I’ll probably just settle in and watch the game

by andrewlail76 on Mar 10, 2010 7:51 PM EST reply actions

This is a great start.

But they can’t ease up on the throttle. They have to keep the foot on the throat and not let the Sixers back into this.
If we can bury them by 40 we shouldn’t settle for winning by 39.

about 3 minutes before you showed up. But he’s running out of gas bigtime right now. He’s not used to playing for more than a couple of minutes without foul trouble.

After that last shot, in the background you could see 4 people in the crowd on cell phones. NOBODY watching the game.

by Ourdaywillcome on Mar 10, 2010 7:59 PM EST reply actions

I think it's a laugh riot.

No sooner does Johnson sell the team than attendance almost doubles.
Did you notice the Bobcat ticket package (4 dogs, 4 drinks, 4 seats) has gone up from $60 to $68?
He’s trying to squeeze every last dime out of the team he can before the league owners vote.

by Ourdaywillcome on Mar 10, 2010 8:02 PM EST up reply actions

To be fair

since he sold I think the teams we’ve played were Lakers, hometown hero Steph, and the Heat. By all means, attendance would have increased anyway

Lemonade was a popular drink and it still is.

by WhatAboutBob_cats on Mar 10, 2010 8:04 PM EST up reply actions

Yeah I know

But why be fair? Fair isn’t funny! And there isn’t a blog in all of SBNation where the bloggers are fair about this game. We all have a healthy streak of the meanness. lol

by Ourdaywillcome on Mar 10, 2010 8:06 PM EST up reply actions

You can actually hear the echo

when the ball clangs the rim. There must be some HUGE empty spaces in that room tonight. I’m used to seeing that at home games, but it’s rare when we’re in someone else’s house.

by Ourdaywillcome on Mar 10, 2010 8:07 PM EST reply actions

I still don't understand

Keeping starters out of the remainder of the first half when they pick up their second fould. I’m not so critical of it tonight because we’re winning and DJ is playing well.

by Stevarino on Mar 10, 2010 8:08 PM EST reply actions

I agree

Did you see that article David found pointing out how stupid that whole philosophy is? He’s posted links to it a couple of times. Best analysis of in-game strategy I’ve seen all season.

by Ourdaywillcome on Mar 10, 2010 8:10 PM EST up reply actions

Yes...

My favorite part was

Coaches lift players because of the threat of them getting in foul trouble. The point of avoiding foul trouble is to avoid having to remove your players from the game, so to avoid foul trouble these coaches (say it with me) remove their players from the game.

by Stevarino on Mar 10, 2010 8:22 PM EST up reply actions

So let's talk about some other things

How good do you think the bucks are? I really like Bogut as one of the top centers in the league.

Lemonade was a popular drink and it still is.

by WhatAboutBob_cats on Mar 10, 2010 8:12 PM EST reply actions

i cant accredit you

when you make a statement that involves Bogut and “top centers in the league”.

your forgetting about:
Pau Gasol
Zach Randolph
Emeka Okafor (really a PF)
Dwight Howard
David Lee
Diop
Ajinca
and most importantly—Tyson Chandler

(some sarcasm btw)
i dont believe hes THAT good, but he is a solid center.

I think he's coming around this year to what he should get

16 pts, 10 reb, 2.5 blocks
I think that’s good enough to be considered one of the top in the league

Lemonade was a popular drink and it still is.

by WhatAboutBob_cats on Mar 10, 2010 8:24 PM EST up reply actions

never enter a room full of men with the words, “I’m late.”
It tends to clear the room in a hurry.

by Ourdaywillcome on Mar 10, 2010 8:32 PM EST up reply actions

I know he's in foul trouble

But we’ve held Iguodala to two points on 1-6 shooting and zeros the rest of the way across his stat line.

by Stevarino on Mar 10, 2010 8:29 PM EST reply actions

Here comes the zone defense… or not. I’m not sure if anyone keeps track of offense against zone or man defense, but the Cats have got to be among the worst in the league against zone.

by David A. Arnott on Mar 10, 2010 8:34 PM EST reply actions

They just plain fall apart when they see the zone.

I won’t be surprised to see all inside the paint action come to a halt now.

by Ourdaywillcome on Mar 10, 2010 8:35 PM EST up reply actions

That's what happens

when you don’t have too many jump shooters on your team.

by Charlotte Bobcat on Mar 10, 2010 8:37 PM EST up reply actions

It’s kind of fascinating that teams play it against the Bobcats, then abandon it even if it’s working.

by David A. Arnott on Mar 10, 2010 8:34 PM EST reply actions

Why are their rims so loud?

Are there ultra-sensitive mics implanted in the rims somewhere?

As inefficient as Wallace was shooting the ball last night

He has been the complete opposite tonight: so far 6-7 from the field and 8-9 from the free-throw line. 20 points off seven field goals is phenomenal.

Crazy stat of the night: Gerald Wallace has one rebound.

by David A. Arnott on Mar 10, 2010 8:41 PM EST reply actions

maybe shorter bursts of impact

and not the dominating double doubles and multi-block games

by Ft.Mill Bobcat on Mar 10, 2010 8:47 PM EST up reply actions

It seemed like

Tyrus was trying too hard to show how much energy he has and trying to make the spectacular weakside block but leaving his man wide open for a shot or offensive rebound. Now that he’s kind of settled in, he’s playingsmarter defense and the team seems to be clicking a little better.
