Tyrus Thomas

I here that Thomas is being shopped by the bulls. What are the chances he could wind up a bobcat.  Im not sure of the salaries and all but i think if we could move Acie, Graham, and/or ajincia for Tyrus it would be a great move to get rid of some uneeded/wanted bodies and get an athletic 4 to back up or replace diaw. And his offensie skills could complement chandler well (even though the tyrus/chandler super duo failed  before.)  What are your thoughts.

I want Tyrus

I don’t know what the chances are, but we should go after him. I think the main pieces that would be moved would be Boris or Chandler and a bench player. Tyrus is a young PF that the Bobcats should be eyeing.

me too

but i dont think they would get rid of chandler for him. LB loves chandler too much for what he “could” do if he were healthy. And movind Diaw for him would still leave a hole at the 4 behind tyrus. And rumors are that after ol’ TT went off on Del Negro, they want him gone and fast.

If we don’t move Diaw or Chandler, I don’t think we’re getting Thomas. That would leave Nazr, Graham, Law, etc aka mostly bums. Even with a Tyrus-Del Negro altercation, they’re not going to trade him for biscuits.

Did I misread your comment?

Did you just list Nazr as one of the Cats bums? I know I read that wrong. He’s having a season most teams would drool over from a starting center.

that group is mostly bums

Of course I know Nazr isn’t a bum. I was just listing him among those possibly to be traded and then described the group as mostly bums. Sorry for the confusion

I really doubt the Bulls want Diaw or Chandler’s expensive contracts. I think they’d prefer to chase Bosh or another FA, and Diaw or Chandler would just be tie up their cap space.

I’d like to bring in Thomas just to watch the fireworks between him and Larry Brown, but I’m not sure the Bobcats have what the Bulls would really want. Augustin and/or a future 1st Rounder would probably be in the deal, and I’m not sure Thomas would be worth it unless the Bobcats were pretty sure they could re-sign him after the season.

Does anyone know what positions the Bulls need?

I can’t try to make a trade without knowing what they would like in exchange

Expiring contracts at the least. Probably draft picks too

But who knows these days? The bulls roster has some pretty good young talent already. They might be a little thin at guard behind Rose. SO maybe Flip & Acie’s expirings for Tyrus Thomas straight up?

I think they may be looking for another pg

Though that alone wouldn’t be enough to get TT. They also want to get rid of either Salmons or Kirk.

I’m guessing D.Brown may be involved in any deal bringing TT to charlotte.

What about this one?

http://www.realgm.com/src_checktrade.php?tradeid=5443024

Bobcats get: Tyrus Thomas
Bulls get: Acie Law & Flip Murray

I don’t know that the Bulls would do it though?

by dudemanhey on Feb 9, 2010 3:45 PM EST up reply actions

That was more about expiring contracts

If they want to be big players in the FA game this off-season AND get rid of Thomas IMMEDIATELY, this deal sends them two other expiring contracts.

If the Bulls got this deal done, they might be able to ship Heinrich for an expiring contract somewhere too.

My guess

If the headlines have LB giving up on Diaw’s offense, then I think he may be available.

what about...

DJ Augustine and chandler for Tyrus and Hinrich?

The salaries work.

Love it

Although it’s a lot to give up for the Bulls

I think the Bulls are wanting to trade both players though.

Kirk’s contract isn’t that great for a guy who would be playing behind Flip. He would bring as much production as D.J. and we would get the PF that we’ve all been wanting.

Over all a good deal for Charlotte. Does Chicago go for Chandler though? I think we may need to add D.Brown and/or a draft pick to sweeten the deal.

On second thought, Kirk might be the back up point after he has a little time in LB's system

He still has a bad contract though and would make it next to impossible to resign Felton next season.
