Bobcats Lose to Clippers 98-94
The Charlotte Bobcats lost to the Los Angeles Clippers 98-94 at Staples Center. Gerald Wallace played every second of the game, scoring 32 points and pulling down 12 rebounds. Stephen Jackson did everything he could to lose, shooting 1-16 from the field before fouling out.
We'll have more tomorrow.
(Much apologies for a lack of game thread. I thought I'd set one up, but it saved as a draft instead of scheduling properly.)

I don't think I'll ever be able to forgive you for the lack of a game thread, David
Lemonade was a popular drink and it still is.
Yes. It was only our creative resolve that saved the day.
Actually, it was our inability to shut the hell up, but don’t tell anyone.

We could’ve really used another guard tonight. Jackson, Felton and Augustin a combined 5 for 32. A henderson or even Graham sighting wouldve been nice.
5 for 32
Now that’s a stat right there. ugh

Ugh...
Another of the kinds of games a playoff team can’t lose. We controlled it the whole way until about the 4:00 mark. This team obviously doesn’t have it in them to beat great teams on the road, so we need to beat the mediocre ones. We probably need 40 (13 more) wins to make the playoffs, so we can’t keep punting our chances to rack ’em up.

Another bad loss.
That makes three after the All-Star break (NJ, Milwaukee). Not a good sign.
The only positives from tonight were Gerald’s aggressiveness, he started early and kept it going, and Boris’ persistence on the offensive end. If they continues to look to score, and Jax doesn’t have the worst night of his career, they’ll be solid offensively.

True.
But Wallace also played the entire game. I think that’s never a good thing.

Boris is playing a lot better since the addition of Thomas
I think the Cats miss having a healthy Nazr in the lineup. I don’t know what DJ’s deal is. I thought the All-Star break would give him time to refocus, but apparently that isn’t the case.

It's gonna take more than a weekend off for Augustin.
He’s gonna need an offseason away from Brown to remember that he’s not as awful as his coach tells him he is every day.

Burnout, the downside of that LB magic
Jax played his worst game as a Bobcat, but much of the credit has to go to Baron Davis, who seemed very motivated to play against his old friend. And the Cats had a huge challenge trying to match up with the Clipper bigs with Old Man Theo as the only able bodied center. 2 rebounds in 31 minutes from Ratliff is a pretty good indication that he doesn’t have much left in the tank.
After the game, Larry Brown dished out plenty of criticism and frustration saying that the Bobcats still haven’t realized they have to “play at a high level” every game. But he might look in the mirror and consider that much of the blame should go to his refusal to use the bench.
Seems like playing Gerald Wallace for 48 minutes on the road in LA is asking an awful lot of any player. Playing Derek Brown a few minutes in his place could have helped. Maybe Jax could have used a few minutes on the bench to regroup, while Henderson spelled him. Limiting the bench to Thomas and Augustin just does not seem like a winning strategy. Might that have had something to do with the Bobcats fade at the end of the game?
rec!
VERY well said. If this team is playing to its current potential this would have been one of the games where Wallace would have been able to spend at least 10-12 minutes as a spectator. Despite our shortage at center we should have been able to control the game and win it going away in the 4th. I’m a big fan of LB, but his failure to trust his bench is becoming a massive liability. He burns out our “premier” players and the result is a last-minute loss time and time again. Hey Larry! Did it ever occur to you that if you used the bench and they completely messed things up the worst that would happen is we’d end up with the exact same loss? But what if, stay with me here Larry, what if, the bench produces? We get some wins instead of the usual loss! Insanity has been well-defined as trying the same thing over and over and expecting a different result. Well Larry, what you’re doing here is that very definition of insanity. Try something different Larry, because what you’ve been doing is just damned nuts.

Play the Kids
Lb is one selfish SOB! He’s gonna blow this thing at getting Charlotte in the playoffs for the first time. Talk about needing a SG, what the hell did they draft Gerald Henderson for. This writer talks about not trusting players on the bench, if hes such a great coach, then play the damn kids. How eles are they gonna get experience. The Bobcats are not playing for a Championship. LB coaches like he this is the Conference Finals. Play more than 8 guys and he will began to get better results from his starters. 48 to 45 mpg is ridiculus for Wallace and Jackson. At this point in the season, Henderson has lost most of his mojo, who’s fault is that? That dummy, LB. Give Henderson a shot, what do you have to lose. At the rate he’s playin SJ & GW, something bad happening is inevitable.

Welcome to the blog.
I’ll warn you, though, that you’re going to be attacked for not slurping on “greatest coach of all time ever in the world in history.” Look at all he’s done for this team. We’re on pace to finish with eight more wins than Sam Vincent got us!

GHlover...DBLover... NOGrahamCracker
And if I was a GHlover………who gives a Shi…….. The point is, LB’s time has passed. The last two games, he’s been out coached by first year coaches. An 8 man rotation in pro basketball has mostly been reserved for the NBA Finals. LB needs to come down off of that horse he’s riding and coach this team with some of that BB knowledge he’s suppose to have. Come On Man………. this is ridiculus!
